Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN For Process 0x508 Thread 0x634 DBC 0x2181024 Jet
I am using ASP + IIS + MS access, when running the following codes:
set Conn=Server.CREATEOBJECT("ADODB.CONNECTION")
conn.open "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver
(*.mdb)}; " & Server.MapPath("db.mdb")
The following erorr is show:
General error Unable to open registry key
'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x508 Thread 0x634 DBC 0x2181024 Jet'.
I have shared the MS knowledge base and try to grant the modify Permissions to IUSR_SERVER on the folder that holding the database, and set the script authority in IIS, the error is still exist. If I create a system DNS for that Access file and modify the second code as ...
conn.Open "AKmobile"
Another error is show:
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.
But there is no problem when conencting with MS SQL Server.
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005) [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0xa60 Thread 0xb30 DBC 0x1391ec4 Jet'. /name.asp, line 17
All time that I go to make login to enter in admin is appearing this error:

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver]General error Unable to open registry key 'Temporary (volatile) Jet DSN for process 0x120c Thread 0x1494 DBC 0x1690024 Jet'.
I keep getting this message onmy webiste. I have had to change from a DSN connection to a dsn less connection but i still can't get the site to work. Link to the error message

Here i sthe code that relates to the error message

I am writing a new asp.net program. Here in, the user has to click on a button on a web page, and a new excel sheet should open up.
I could do it successfully using Office 2k3 PIA's for the click event handler for the button. Then I decided to create a new thread and complete the process of creating an excel sheet in the new thread itself.
But I am getting the following error.
An unhandled exception of type 'System.UnauthorizedAccessException' occurred in Unknown Module.
Additional information: Access is denied
But, the code executes successfully when i remove the thread and directly code it in the click event handler for the asp button.
What might be the problem?? How can I give access permission to the thread?? Should set some permission in the Internet Information Services Manager.
Does the issue posted in http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=243543 apply to IIS 5.0 and IIS 6.0 whereby storing objects in session or application objects causes thread affinity thus removing all benefit of a thread pool
Is there an explanation somewhere as to how IIS6 determins how many ASP threads its actually going to use?I have configured IIS6 to have 20 threads (ASPProcessorThreadMAX) but it uses them all.
I am using the MACT test tool to stress test and with 50 concurrent users I quite often see only a single ASP thread being used the other 49 are on the Requests Queued. The Request Wait Time in Perfmon can be averaging around 5 or 6 seconds and there is plenty of spare CPU.
The application quite often has long running queries(15 to 20 seconds per request)and rather than use another thread IIS will quite often just keep ticking along with the threads its using with the result that the Request Wait Time can jump significantly.
Here's a question that I've not been able to get a definitive answer to.
Creating an STA object (such as a typical VB6 object) and assigning to the ASP Session store is a bad thing.
It's a bad thing because it forces IIS to affiliate the Session with the Thread on which the STA object is created.
This means all subsequent requests for that session can only be handled by that worker thread and can therefore result it in poor performance as requests queue up to access the thread they are affiliated with.
My question(s) is/are this:
Is this affilation now set in stone for the life time of the session?
Does removing the STA object from the session remove the affiliation or is IIS/ASP just not that clever?
I am putting the thread details into the Thread_Table table, and so creating a new record in that table. THen I need to create a new post in the Post_Table, and need to pass it the ThreadID that I just created in the Thread_Table. Code:
I have an xml file, which is to be updated by an asp script (vbs) when users are submitting forms from their browsers. Now I wonder if there is anything that stops the following to occur: Code:
I've got a web-based "database admin console" that uses ADOX, etc. to query a database and return the tables, columns, etc to a form that I can then use to build SQL statements to run against that database. It's very "generic" - i.e., everything is dymanically created but pretty handy to have
If you send it a "SELECT" statement, it can print out a table on the screen showing your recordset. No big deal. What I'd also like to include is some way for users to get that output in a comma- or tab-delimited text file that they can use however they like. There are two ways I know of to accomplish thi
1) Create a big string as I step through the recordset - (strOutput = strOutput & "'" & objRS(I) & "," .....) and then slap strOutput into a <textarea>. This is probably not desirable because the user would have to copy all the content in that <textarea> and manually paste it into Notepad or whatever
2) Use the FSO. However, my limited experience with the FSO leads me to believe that I'd have to SAVE the resultant file before I can send it to users. I don't want to do that.
Does anyone have any suggestions about how else I can accomplish this? Or, if FSO is the way to go (which I suspect it is), bear in mind that my only exposure to FSO is in the context of .vbs files....are there any special tricks you need to use for ASP
I need to take some info from a SQL Database into an ASP (VBscript) web page, create a temporary vcs file (Outlook vCalender file) and use the SQL data to create the entrys for the appointment, then email it to someone as an attachment. Getting the SQL values is no problem. How do I go about creating, populating & sending the vcs file? its similiar to a txt file. Its plain ASP not ASp.net and I can't install any components onto the server. It has to be kept local.
Is there a way to create an asp program which counts the number of impressions, clicks, leads and sales of a certain ad and post it somewhere else? I have actually reviewed some ad servers one of which is Adxpress by Valuead. It's a good one but it'll really cost some money.
I want to 'response.write' these onto the webpage, but I want them to be ordered by the value (largest first). Can I create a temporary table, put the values into it, then call them back using the an SQL command? If so, how do I create 'temporary tables'?
i am developing a search engine. its like this. i have an asp from which gets the search string. i display a page with a wait symbol for 2 seconds (meta-equiv-refresh=2) and then transfer the control to the same page which would display the search results. I think even this forum does this type of display. Now my question is how do i start searching for the entered string and stop displaying the wait page only when the search is finished.
i.e i dnt want a wait page to be displayed simply for two seconds and then show the search page. I want to ""show the wait page after the search is started and then stop displaying it and display the search results only after the result is got""
I use the ASP to genereate the excel file. We use the Excel.Application to create a excel. But we find many excel shortcut or directory shortcut under the C: or D: How can we resolve it?
I have a form on my site that users must fill out before downloading a pdf document, however, i would like the form to send them an email with a temorary URL.
which they can click to download from, and which expires after 'x' days. is this an asp thing? or do i have to move to .net to do this?
i have written a stored procedure. depending upon different parameters, query is prepared as string and executed through exec() function. it returns a certain number of rows. stored procedure also contains a temporary table. the question is this how can i insert the rows returned by the query in to temporary table?
I'm a complete newbie to IIs and ASP (come from the Apache/Cold Fusion world ). I've created a very simple ASP test page:
<%@ Language=VBScript %>
<% Response.Write "This is a test ASP page." %>
But when I access the page, it just displays the page as text, instead of processing the ASP. I've looked at a half-dozen Microsoft KB articles, but still no luck. I'm not getting an error, it's just not processing.
I m facing a problem in ASP. That is on the production machine when I deploy my product at that time it dosenot perform a particular process. But on my devlopment machine it runs perfectly fine.
The only difference which lies is that on my devlopment machine in security tab of wwwroot/(website) a security permission with the name of VS Devlopers(machineVS Devlopers) exist but on the production machine it dosenot. What could be the possible problem.
Making good old fashioned asp page and need to be able to display the IIS COM+ process id's (i.e. those that show up when attaching to a process in InterDev(in debug/processes dialog box).
Is there a way to get these process id's show up in an asp page? You can tell I'm not to saavy when it comes to working my way around the WindowsAPI.
Just like to know if I am correct and no problems in this scenario:
I have page where the user clicks a button to save some information >>
gets directed to page 2 where a value gets returned from a recordset and the form is inserted automatically upon loading with the value (sequential for the database table) >>
the user then gets redirected to page 3 upon insertion into the database, if I use 'Select Top 1 ......' as a query to retrieve some information on this page am I sure that this is the correct record just inserted even if 2 or more people are saving at the same time?
i have to start a batch process from a dll to transfer files created by this dll to remote ftp server. I created a batch file:
ftp -n -v -i -s:D:atchftpcmds.txt ftp-server
and a file containing the ftp commands:
user username password lcd D:atchmedia mput *.* quit
It works pefectly when i start it from the dosbox. But when i call it from the vb dll implemented in IIS (shell ("D:atch ransfer.bat")), it does not complete the transfer and hangs after 400-500 (small) files.
I need to select a csv file from my desktop through the "Browse.." button in my ASP page and upload the file and do further interrogation and extract the data to put into a database. What I'm struggling with is more the first parts with getting the file read properly in the second page so I can read and insert the data. The data below describes the file. Quite a simple format.
Customer ID - Additional values are player IDs 193948294, 293, 294, 296, 290, 292
if it is possible to run a process after page has loaded? reason being is i have an application that uploads a file, then zip's it up. These are 50 megs sometimes, so zipping the file can take some time. It is a two stage process though, a user will upload a file, then fill out some more info, then submit, so while the user is filling out more info, I'd like to start zipping the file. Does anyone know if that is possible? and if so how to do it?
when i call for a asp page i c some process still running in the status bar. but when i click on the same link again, i could not find the process. it happens alternatevely.why is this happening? how to prevent?
It's been a long time since I've needed any help with something, so I'm happy to come back and feel dumb again. I need to learn how to process XML data and generate pages driven from that data. I know the structure of the documents, I just need to grab the data from inside certain XML elements of the XML documents.
Can someone explain this or post a link to a good site? I've tried googling, but everything I find seems to explain how to print back the XML in HTML format.
Got a bit of code, which I want to loop through, unless the current value is "", in which case I need it to skip to the next one, but how do I do it?
Response.Write "<br />" & vbCrLf For Each strItem In Request.Form If strItem = "" THEN 'these next two lines, I only want to be processed if the above does have a value in it Response.Write "-" & strItem & "-" & vbCrLf Response.Write "-" & Request.Form(strItem) & "<br />" & vbCrLf End If Next Response.Write "<br />" & vbCrLf
I have a website that we display images we have saved into a SQL Server 2000 database as binary BLOB. This is on a Windows 2003 Server. Just recently (a week ago) this website began to save the images it is displaying on the website as ASP pages in the Temporary Internet Files > IE.Content > Folder.
We have other websites where we use the exact same code and these do not save files on the server when they are displayed.
Here is the code to display the image: Set rs = objConn.Execute( SQL ) Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream" Response.BinaryWrite rs("Product_Image")
SQL is the SQL String to get the image from database
When I add this code:
Response.ContentType = "image/jpeg"
The images still display on the website, but now are saved in the Temporary Internet Files folder as JPG's.
Anybody have idea about Image processing tools available for ASP (like Imagemagick,I dont think ImageMagick will work with ASP).
I want to adjust the images uploaded to my site(ASP) to a particular resolution and do some image resolution changes, like creating thumbnails from originally uploaded images,etc..
