the first one is date(statically from today to another 5 days)
the 2nd one is city(like bangalore,newyork...)
the 3rd one is theaters(like abc,wilson...)
if i select 1st combo value means the related values from 2nd combo will load.
and if i select 2nd combo value means related 3rd combo value will load.
I use ASP (not .NET) for my web applications. I use IE6 SP1 for all my clients. Since title attribute doesn't work on IE6SP1, I cant get the tool tip running. I use tooltip to lessen the dropdown width.
i am creating an website using asp. In one page i am using dropdown combo box having multiple property true, so that user can select more than one values from dropdown box. when i am submitting form in querystring it gives dropdown box & the value of selected option. Code:
I 'm trying to display a combo box (which datas are coming from a database) depending on the select of another combo box in the same form. I think I should use the property onChange of JavaScript but don't know what to give in parameters.
In fact, I have an ASP function which generate a table containing the Strings obtained thanks to a request in a database. Then I'd like to put the Strings contained in the table, to a combo box. The combo box should refresh each time the user select another field in the former list. It must be developped dynamically.
I've got an issue when using an INSERT into MS SQL 2000. The problem is that when I do any insert using the code below, the insert happens 3 times. The query reads something like this...
SET NOCOUNT ON; INSERT INTO xx (xx, xx) VALUES ('xx', 'xx'); SELECT @@IDENTITY AS newID;
I then use the following code to run it and do an update to the new record. One thing to note is that the update is only completed on the last insert that is done, so this doesn't seem to be a problem of the function running multiple times. Code:
Can someone tell me how to write this line so I don't get an error - I've tried various ways to nest the quotes, but I still get an error saying that an ")" is expected.
' then set up a query ' ----------------------------------------------- sQuery = "SELECT DISTINCT * from tablename Order By columnA, columnB " ' << insert your own sql here
could someone give an example so I could follow it?
I have a category that I will call "company". in my access DB, there are about 6 or so companies. On another table, I have a list of locations that are related to these companies.
What I want to do, is have a drop down menu that lists all the companies. When you select the company, the second drop down menu will automatically populate with the locations of the company you selected in the first dropdown.
Anyone know any links to some examples of this? My google searches have been pretty fruitless since Im having a bit of a problem trying to explain it concisely (as you probably noticed).
I am trying to do is display 'by tag name' like I have in the code i.e. 'ARTIST'. I was getting the access denied error because I was trying to access a remote XML file, so I created a 'proxy' page (getXML.asp) in ASP which seems to work - in the sense that I don't get that error anymore!
But now it can't retrieve the XML but I am almost certain the getXML file is causing this as teh XML file is where I say it is.
This is my first attempt with AJAX so sorry for being so vague but basically it don't work. Code:
Does anyone know of a site where I could learn how to use Ajax with ASP? I am a complete newbie to AJAX (know the name and that's about it) but am interested to see if it could help my applications. The only help I can find involves ASP.Net not classic ASP.
I've been starting to dig into ajax a bit and found some great code to pre-load data to page through a recordset. My very dumb question is this - the sample code uses php to connect to the sample database.
Would there be a problem using asp to make the database connection? I'm not getting any javascript errors on my trial page, but I'm not getting any data either, which is what make me wonder.
I put some code together below, so you can see what I mean:rcntech.com/development/ajaxcars.asp
If you test the link above with IE works as it is supose to, however it doesn't display any elements withing the <form> tags in Firefox.
By the way, I am loading the page using AJAX, if you call the ASP directly in Firefox then it works fine, but that's not what I am trying to achieve.rcntech.com/development/login.asp
My web site HTML comes from a database via querystring e.g. page.asp?pid=55. I have a separate asp search page, search.asp. Its output is retrieved by an ajax call from page.asp and its HTML is then neatly wrapped and styled by page.asp.
I want search.asp to recognise if it is not being called via ajax frompage.asp, but directly e.g. via the address bar (and if so, redirect to page.asp). Do I need to put something into the posted string, or (better) is there an asp method that can do this?
The ajax call is function GetSearchPage(st) { var poststr = "searchterm=" + encodeURI(st); makePOSTRequest('/search/search.asp', poststr,'divFullSearchDisplay'); }
Suppose I have an asp page that has a response.write(something) in a loop that would run for a considerable amount of time. Now, from my client browser can I trap those server response messages (using ajax) and print them on the browser?
The thing is the asp page is still running over at the server. while it is running I would want to monitor some variables that is part of the program that is running over at the server.
I have created a asp page that allows me to add records successfully to a database using a ajax methods. This works for me but i need to update the data table that is on the same page with the new record without refreshing the page. Does anybody know good methods for vbscript and ajax?
Time is changed and you see almost all ruling companies in INTERNET are using AJAX Based applications. Something that is named CallBack Event in ADP.NET 2.0.Here in this topic i want to start introducing step by step an AJAX-Based application development.
The target is implementing a professional AJAX Grid in ASP. So at the end of this continuous tutorial i will put the source code free. Be in touch to find out how AJAX concept improves our ASP applications.
im using ajax to load different pages of code into containers on one page.. i have checked my code.. and things SEEM to be named correctly.. and i know the db is workin because it populates the drop downs properly.
so if you could do this form me.. choose the first radio.. 'london postcode' and proceed from there.. when you click the get quote that error comes up.
Have anyone done a drag-drop-reordering and save the latest sort order into db with ASP? It seems that not many ajax sample with asp out there. I have found a link to do it with php. Code:
I would like to have div tag over combo box, not combo box over div tag. I have this problem on many pages usually when I use drop down menus. I try to solve this problem with z-index but it doesn't work. Have anybody some idea? Code:
If I click the "Update" button on my form below, I can retrieve the value of my combo by using code in the FORM RESULTS section below. Therefore, if I choose the "Inside" option in my combo, I would get "1" as the value of my combo box.
Is there any way to retrieve the Name associated with the value? So not only retrieve the combo value of 1, but also retrieve the name "Inside" after submitting my form? Code:
I have a form which enables users to search a database. Currently they can use a series of checkboxes and a text area. I would like to incorporate a combo box in this form. The values would be hard-coded. The user selects an option, which is included in the SQL statement along with those from the other form elements.
I'm not sure how to get the values form the combo box into a variable. There would be up to 40 values. Can anyone show me how to do this?
I'd like to know if any of you guys have found tools to, search in PDFs. create PDFs on the fly. preferly in pure asp, or in pure .net, so no component installing. I searched for it but found nothing good on the matter. I know there are some nice tools to do these things php. So I'd like to know your experiences in these things, cause clients start to ask more and more for PDF functions on their sites.
Currently I can add/delete records from this form I have on an ASP page. But I can't get images to upload for anything. Here is the crazy part...I also have a Linux webserver for my php sites right.
I'm thinking about doing my image upload function on my linux box and upload it to the windows 2K3 image folder of my we directory. So I cause my question is: 1) Is that possible? 2) Can php talk to my access DB, and 3) Am I crazy? Code:
I've got a combo box with a list of alphanumeric data extracted from database. When i type 'c' the combo box shows a list of items beginning with the letter c. then when i press '8' the combo box shows a list of items beginning with the number 8. But what i want is for the combo box to list items that begin with 'c8'. is it possible?
