Basically I have created a small ASP site that allows a user to upload their
own pics via ASPupload so that they can be used on their site. I use a very
simple form with a INPUT file box to allow them to browse, select and upload
the picture. I then use ASPupload to save the file, get the file params and
then store these details in an Access DB as I can page through data far more
easily using a DB over a FileSysObj.
This works fine, but a number of users that use this site want to be able to
upload a large number of pics en masse. At this point, my knowledge of
problems to do with this are as follows:
a) ASPupload together with the trigger-happy ISP that I'm using means that a
total upload size at one time is really only about 800KB - 900KB at best
before the ISP triggers their script time out. Code:
I have a page with only one <input type=file ..> tag.
The page submits to itself with a "Save File to List" button. User browses thru the files and click the above button to add the file to a list. In the end user clicks "Submit" to upload all the files from the list to the server.
Problem # 1
I'm not sure how to save FILE type object collection/array, with every click of first button.
Problem # 2
How do I post that collection/array varaible when submit (2nd button) is clicked.
How can I upload & insert 2 images to the server using asp, I used this code for one single image....I need to know for 2 images in order to insert them in database
The codes below have some prob.It works well when the link as shown with the highlighted green is click as it passes the id to file.asp to show the pic in a new window.I now want it to show it in the same window itself.I mean i dun have to click the link to show the picture. It just will show the pic as shown in highlighted red.But all it comes out is the binary form. Code:
If you go to www.AstraAccounts.co.uk and click on any of the nav panel folders on the left you may find that the images don't appear (white box with red cross) for the tree-view items within these folders. Yet if you right-click on any of these non-displaying images and go Show Picture then these pics show without probs and will work for the rest of the session. It only seems to be happening on IE 6 and intermittently at that. Is it because I use ASP pages, although this particular nav bar is a standard html page?Is it a recognised problem in IE 6? Is there a way round it, ie via HTML code or a Microsoft patch?
I have a set of code for displaying information from the database. However now i can only view text with no pics... what can i add in order to see pics together with the text and what data type should i put for the pics in the database? Code:
made a page which should display one pic after another automatically as tho to say its generated from the database... not working tho i have included some sample code as well in a txt file.
how to extract a pic from ms access database.I used simple codes found online but it only gives me the binary codes not the pic itself.Wondering if anyone could help.I have already put the picture in the database. Now is extracting it.
I run my applications perfectly, can make changes to my database, but I cannot upload Documents or Pictures Etc.Etc.I was able to with my Windows ME OS. I now run Windows 2000.
Ok my boss wants to know if there is a way to display an unknown # of pics from folder onto a web page ASP using VBScript or JavaScript... doesn't really matter.
You don't know the names of the pics or how many are in the folder just that you want to display all the pictures in the folder...
Just as the title says I am trying to do something impossible with a single SQL statement. I am doing an ASP webpage for internal use at the company I work for.
I want to know if there is a way to insert/update data into multiple tables in 1 SQL statement.
If it requires functions | views or anything else that is fine but I don't want to have 3-4 different SQL statements to update 2-3 different columns in different tables.
I have a search option on my website, which should perform a search on 4 fields, as follows:
tblNews headline content
tblDatabank filename description
It only needs to return matches which are an exact match of their search criteria. For instance, searching for "I am here" would return a record which contained "I am here", but not just "I" or "I am" etc.
I need to return all these records as part of one recordset preferably, as I want to be able to order them etc., though I imagine you may suggest I use an array somehow to merge two recordets etc., then reorder them?
i hav problem with updating the data. In the asp page i hav displayed records based on search criteria. in display mode im displaying the to be updated field in combo box for each similar contract_no. each contract_no will hav different no of rows and to be updated combo box.
based on the selected value in the combo boxes of different contract_nos i hav to update the combo value with old value. user select multiple combo values at a time I need anybody's help with detailed programming logic.
I need to add the functionality to upload an image to the webserver, store it in a folder and add its location to a database so I can find it. I have no idea how to get started on this though. Does anyone have an idea of how to do it or can point me in the direction of a good tutorial.
I am trying to use the upload file feature that comes with Sun ONE ASP but cannot find any documentation on how to use it. As it is a former chilisoft product all the knowledge base documents, FAQ's, and basically all the useful stuff has been dumped by Sun.
Does anyone know how to use this feature or know of any sites where it is explained? Please don't say "look on the Sun website" as I have been doing that all afternoon and can't find anything useful on the whole site!!
i developed website, in that i have one two asp pages one page to collect the data's and other is the confirmation page In the local host it runs very well but i uploaded the webpage the datas i collect could not be stored in the access database

My client wants me to add a functionality which would enable him upload and resize the pictures. His server is having ASPUPLOAD and e-kov components intalled. Also he doesn't want to write files to the disk and save only to memory.
I can use ASPUPLOAD's functionality to save files in memory or save files in the database. My question is how can I access a file so that I can resize the image using e-kov software. And when using 'upload.save' only, without path, it saves the file virtualy but where does the file and how to access it.
My form with a upload photo function is not working - Can some one please take a look and see were I have messed up. The code is 4 sections : The Form, The DB script, The submit Script and the Upload script. Code:
i know that this thread allready exists buti still don't understand what to do ... i'm using microsoft frontpage and access database and would like to upload image file to access ... so ... it looks like that:
i have one page - on that page there is an upload form which leads to another ASP page ... on next page i would like to call that form from the previous page and then store it to the database (if it's possible i would like to do it without any software - because i'm not the owner of the server) ... Code:
I have an application that works fine in Windows 2000 IIS, uploading files of any size to a server folder The same application installed in a Windows 2003 IIS limits the upload size to approx 200 Kb, trying to upload larger files generates an "Operation_not_allowed" error in the web log
I suppose that Microsoft introduced some limitation in either the new OS version or IIS but I'm not able to find any reference, except for the 4 Mb limitation in .NET, but it's not my case.
I did a program with allowed to user to upload an excel file and insert those data into the access database. I did the testing on xp pro and to upload abt 300 records took me less than a minute.
However, the computer which the program is to be located is using windows 98. So i dowlnoaded the free server thingy. The upload time for 300 records here took about 15 minutes. haha
Just want to know what makes the uploading time so different?
I'm creating the Intranet for my company and in one of the parts of it I want that users to be able to upload and download files, however, I'm not sure what would be the best option/application to use for its creation. I need them specially for the uploading to be able to track when was the upload done, which user did it, and so on.
I have been using ASPs to create the website. Could I do this with ASPs ?
Need some help on the following problem:I have to upload an image using ASPUPLOAD component and process other information regading products also in the same form. What I tried is putting a Frame (using iframe) in the form, which leads to Upload.asp. Image uploading goes fine but I cannot find a way to get the file name or any other value(after uploading) to the FORM in which this frame resides. I will need some value to link the image and the product. Kindly let me know if there is a way to pass values OR a better wayout for what I am trying to do
