my question is I also need to insert the data to Table_B, but before that, I want to retrieve the Table_A.TaID first.
so if i do "select TaID from Table_A" and execute the sql how do I assign just the LAST record of TaID and assign to temp variable?

Hiding Blank Record Data
I want to display the contents of a field with a label if there is data in that field. If there isn't then I don't want the label to appear. I tried this:

But it doesn't seem to work. It seems to always display the label and link even though there is no data in that field.
Find And Return Data From A Just Submitted Record.
I have a page where a user can submit a record for a new "applicant". After the user clicks Submit, I would like to send the user to a new page containg the "Applicant Number" which the user will need.
The applicant number is simply the autonumbering of the record in the table which is in a SQL Server db. How do I capture the record number(primary key) of the newly entered record in the table and send it to my new page?

I have an ASP page in a table style (heading and data). At the beginn of each month (actually only the first day) there is no data in my database and so-with nothing to show up on the ASP page. If I would like to open the ASP page over the net IE is telling me that it cannot find my page. I’ve been racking my brains trying to figure out why when I call a record set back with a SELECT * it only brings back some of the fields. It use to be connecting to an access 2000 DB and worked fine but I’ve converted it over to SQL. I’ve installed SQL server DEV edition and imported the data. The desktop is running XP.
Has anyone got any ideas why it only picks some of the fields in the record set and not others? O I’ve tried timeout = 0 on the connection already..

Then PAGE3.ASP brings back further information. My question is how do I use one field from the address information on PAGE2.ASP to display on PAGE3.ASP? I am writing a little ASP script that reads the URL and generates a navigable breadcrumb trail from it. It is highly dependant on the filename and folders being named appropriately and consistently.
However, what would be prefereable is for the file that you are currently reading to be generated in the breadcrumb base on the document <title> instead of the actual file name.
Is it possible in ASP to read a <title> attribute?
Naturally, the ASP script would be in the <body> of the document and as such the <title> would already have been written to the client.

But I observed that in place of the title is the url to the page. Is there a way to get around that when using

I run a site using a blog script (dblog) where if you want to open an article from the homepage, it links to a page called article.asp. For example if I want to open article 101 the link goes to article.asp?article=101 but the title (the metatag) is always the same.
