Virus Scan
We are thinking of implementing ASPUpload component to allow users to upload files. Which is the best antivirus (virus scan) which we can use so that it intergrates possibly has a COM interface.
or is there another way? with our websites and we would be able to scan the documents in the temporary folder and upon successful scanning move them into a designated folder on the server? Does anyone know of an article or website where I can get a sample code for scanning uploaded documents.

I'm creating a publicly accessable upload tool using ASP Upload and was wondering how much I should worry about Viruses.
Is it possible for files uploaded to attack the server? I was looking for a way to scan files uploaded for viruses but can't seem to find anything.
What I'd be looking for is something along the same lines of and online email systems that scans attachments for viruses.

There will be a section very similar to this forum, where a user can:
1) Fill out a web based form
2) Attach a file
3) The text and attachment will be emailed (via ASPmail) to the recipient list
My Questions are as follows:
1) I'm assuming I need to first upload the file to somewhere on my server with the correct write permissions BEFORE
actually attaching it to the ASPmail, correct?
2) How can I prevent users from sending attachments with viruses? Do I just install a realtime virus scanner (like norton)
on the server and it will automatically look at the uploaded files?
3) Assuming that #2 is correct, what happens when it detects a virus? what would the email actually send? I guess I could have
norton "delete" any files with viruses, and then write the ASP code so that if it can't find the uploaded attachment (because it was deleted)
the email can include a message like "attachment was deleted due to virus" or something.....right?
I'm assuming Norton would catch it quick enough between the upload time and the email send time....
Can anyone give me some pointers?

If I had two populated combo boxes, one of them has product code and other product types/product list and wanted to scan the product code.Is it possible to scan a product code(barcode) and would that select the product code from the list if it is there,would that be the same as If I manually selected that product code,but I am just scanning it.
I am trying to let customers that have a scanner to scan the product which populates the product type according to product code scanned.,for example if I scan Victoria that selects Melbourne,if that is possible I should be fine.
But I also have to be able to let customers that don't have a scanner to select the product from the product list,which means if they have a scanner I cross reference the product code=product type if not then show all the products in the list and that is where my idea falls apart as at this point in time I am not sure how to populate all the products if no product code exists. The list of products and codes is huge.

I'm using an Access database connected with an ASP
website. I keep having the same problem:
Example:
when field Name (text) from tblcustomers is empty, I
do not want to show this one..
IF (qryRandom("name") = "") THEN
respone.write ("its empty!")
ELES
respone.wirte ("its filled!")
END IF
why do I keep getting 'its filled' when it is empty
any suggestions?
