I'm using the FileSystemObject to display some images I have in a directory. I want to scale the images down by 50% in the browser but not actually scale the files themselves. I'm messing around with the ASP_JPEG object but I can't find a straight forward way to do it.
View Replies View RelatedI'd like to take a HTML document as input (preferably a HTTP URL to a HTML / PHP document), render the page as a web browser would, and display the output as a graphic - kinda similar to what the <object> tag can do in HTML (i.e. within the Windows Explorer Web View, you could "Preview" HTML documents like a graphic etc.)
It doesnt matter too much whether the rendering needs to be done in VB.net or ASP.net - although I'd prefer ASP.net!! To be honest, the only method I can think of for doing this is to open the page in an IE window using vb.net, take a sceenshot and resize! But as the request could be run as and when,
I think that it'd add a large workload to the server if it has to launch a (reasonably large) .exe every time!! Plus that method would also rely on no other windows appearing on top of the preview window before the screenshot is taken!!
I got a little problem while sending HTML e-mails with CDONTS.
I generate my e-mail body without problems into a string variable. When I
display it to the browser via a "response.write", it's OK, including images.
Then I set this string variable to the CDONTS.Newmail object (body

I need to grab product info including images from specified websites with no RSS or common structure.
I've been searching and reading articles for 2 days and have played around with grabbing html from a site and trying to find out what to do with it at that point. I think I need to parse it for the patterns I'm looking for, (creating an array out of them?) and save that information to my DB. I also want to grab the actual images and display them from my site so that the product suppliers bandwidth is not used by the pics being on my site...
I'm thinking, with my current skills which are limited, I'll be doing this with ASP (vbscript) and javascript (if necessary). I'm not great with those but good enough to figure stuff out eventually.
Can you tell me if you think I'm on the right track and recommend any learning resources specific to the skills needed to accomplish this?
If it's not too much to ask, a bit of pseudocode might keep me on the right track... what to do and when.
Is it possible to call a VB6 COM+ object on the click of a button or
image in classic ASP without submitting the form to the server?
An example: I have a form with a person's name and address all filled
out. I want the user to click a 'Save' image (or button) which

I have a form defined (in HTML). I populate all of the fields within the form with values from the database (the records will always have data when this form displays). I use a for next to loop through the records (with multivalued fields). Here is a piece of the code:
The code sends an automatic email, but the email is html format. At the top of the email i want to include an image.
Everything is working except the image is not being included, instead a box with a X appears.

how can i create a graphic report based on database information.
I have an asp page where i asked some questions to users on my intranet, and
i have that data on a database, so i want to make a graphical report (i.e. a
pie) where i can see the results.
Is it possible to validate whether a graphic is corrupt? I have roughly 500 graphics being pulled out of a database, and I need to check whether they are corrupt and flag them if so. Unfortunately, I do not have any CRC or a Hash of the physical files, before they were uploaded.

I don't know what they're called, but you know the form: The page
displays a "code", usually on a similar color background (dark gray),
and the text is all squiggly.
It's an attempt to foil the bots that go out and process forms. The
user has to type in the code they see, when the graphic itself should
be unreadable by character recognition engines.

I'm currently using a dictionary object to store a multi-dimensional array.
I want to pass this dictionary object to an object, which holds an array of dictionary objects.
However I'm finding that the array is not getting set, thus I'm having great issue with dynamically resizing the object's property for every new dictionary object I'm adding.
I have a VC++ COM object which fires an event. I've written VB EXE apps against it and they receive the event notification.
I've now built a simple VB COM object which uses the VC++ COM object internally.
My question is, assuming the ASP page which loads the object does not immediately exit, will the VB COM object be able to receive the events from the internal object?
I have a table having 3 columns. There is a checkbox for each line. I
need to get those lines whose checkboxes are checked, and show those
lines to another webpage. Is there any way to do that? My concern is
that all information in the table are in <tb></tb> pairs without any
name tag. Any idea?

The site displays: their products that are broken down into sub categories, guest book, and a survey.
I am only "aware" that text files can be imported into Access but have never done it.
I have some PHP scripts that need to be converted to ASP3 so that they can run on a Micrsoft NT server using ADO. My knowledge of ASP is limitied so i was hoping you could answer a few questions..
1. Is ADO part of ASP.net or is this completely different?
2. Is ASP3 the same as ASP.net?
3. Is there any advice you can give me regarding converting from PHP to ASP3?
I've stored a set of months in an access database as numbers but when it display on the front end I need it to display as the name of the month.
How would you convert the numbers in the database to their word equivalent? Or is it possible to arrange the months in their correct order in the database?
