I'm a student who has to create a login section using asp,ms access, and javascript/vbscript.The login section has to have a login,new member sign up with e-mail confirmation sent to the user of their name and password,and a modify details page.

this is how site is set, once logged in, takes them to the navigation page. Horizontal frame, top being the nav and botton is the target. When they enter data in and click submit from the first page is not a problem. I'm stuck on how to pass thier name from one page to another with them using links.
I have NOT written the code yet for this because I'm not sure how it will work. I do have the pages written without the login on it. Just need to know how to pass thier name using the nav.
i would like to secure my database from been modified by any users on the network.

I am building a website to pull data from a remote https site using xmlhttp. The data from the https site is behind a login screen. I can successfully get through the login screen with:

That works great - but then, when I try to go to the next page (where the data is that I want to pull) - I use the same process and I get kicked back out to the login screen? Could there be some cookies, referer, strings being passed normally that I am not including in my second request - How do i find out for sure?
I have used the software IETrace and it looks like some cookies being passed, but how do I know for sure if (and what exactly) it is using?
I want to login to a page using MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP.4.0 or an object like this, I must send the form variables needed to login when I try to login to the page. But the problem is, that the page looks like a exe file (not a asp file or php file or what ever). The name of the page I try to login is something like "/pw?/session/login", nothing more, without extension. I have tried the code with a normal asp file with session registration and login process and it worked, but not with this file.

I know how to use ASP to create and write into a .CSV file on the server, but I have a small problem. Every time I write to the file I am adding new lines each time. I don't know how to wipe the previous contents out, and I thought this is probably a no-brainer for you guys ...
So, I'm looking either to delete the file at the start of the process and start from scratch or
* open the file
* wipe all contents from file
* write to the newly cleaned file

Everything seems to work fine but now i have to create a new cookie if cookie has expired or if cookie is null. Also, i am having problems with the expire because if the username belongs to the admin for example and then i want to change

I want to create an order form for prints online... I will have up to 200 prints to be selected. What I am thinking is that I will have an HTML Form that has all the 200 thumbnails with a check box next to them. They select the ones they want and push next. Then I would like it to create a set of options for each one they selected.
That basically says the image name then has a check box for 5x7, 8x10 and a text box for the amount for each... I do I create the page what creates these selections and how to I incorporate that into a mail form going to the next page?... it seems like a simple enough idea. Am wondering how the reality of it will be.

mailinglist. And when i send them mails it takes kinda long since i attach a
..pdf file each time. so i was wondering if there is a way in asp to create a
task on the webserver using asp to trigger a script that sends the mails.
sure i could use server.scripttimeout but the thing is that i dont want to
wait 30 seconds for the page to finish loading. and if there will be 3000 in
near future i'll have to wait for a very loooooong time.

I'm doing a gallery and I need to make some thumbnails of the images, but yeah...I don't know how, especially since I can't access the server to install stuff. And to be honest I wouldn't know how to install them in the first place (linux server)
Now...the best solution I've come up with so far is to send a string to another webserver that runs on a decent platform and use asp.not to make the thumbnail and then link it from there...would be a pain in the butt though, so if anyone has some good advice then I'm all ears (even if the advice is to give up, tbh)

I am currently pulling records from my database and exporting them to rtf.
My problem however lies in formatting the data in the rtf. More specifically with putting the data into a table.
Does anyone know how to control the width of a table when generating a rtf?

The problem is for example when a user fills up 2 pages and if comes back by hitting "Back" button, and changes/updates the form, and then hits the "Continue" button, the form is creating a new id after hitting the continue button. So it is creating multiple records for the same user creating multiple ID's. I kind of know the solution, that if i create a session, the problem will be taken care of. But don't know how to create session.
