Error With String Concatenation
some code inside my project:
<%
atitle1 = Request.Form("title1")
atitle2 = Request.Form("title2")
response.write(atitle1)
response.write(atitle1 & atitle2)
response.write(atitle2)
%>
returns not 4 but 2 values from atitle1 and atitle2...
In a separate asp file it works fine but inside my asp-page - as I described. Maybe somebody can recognize this situation. Why does it happends? Also, set obj = Server.CreateObject("InvalidProgId") don't give an error, just skipped by compiler with any call to obj too.

i have actually obtained some keywords from javascript and i have concatenated them in the form of:
function delete_check()
{
//alert("m inside the function") Testing Purpose
var count=<%=c%>
var str = ""
alert(count)
for (xx = 1; xx <= count; xx++)
{
if(document.getElementById(xx).checked == true)
{
vals=document.getElementById(xx).value;
str= str+"@" +vals
}
}
location.href="delete_demo_submit.asp?var="+str
}
</script>
this code basically opens up a new window names delete_demo_submit.asp and i have passed a concatenated string in the format " @fghfg@dfgdf@farhan19 " as a query string. now after recieving that concatenated string i have to split that keyword by split function wrt @ sign.
now the question is ... in asp is there any function that can calculate the number of "@" signs in the string so i can easily control the loop or any other alternative and effective technique?

When we concatenate a huge string in ASP Forms (for the purpose of sending mails) in server side VB Script we found that an Exclamation mark is added inadvertently inside it. This Exclamation mark is being shown in different positions at different points of time.

So I used regsvr32 and registered the cdonts.dll file. But even then there is no entry in the registry and I am getting the same error in the asp script.

I am trying to utilise xmlhttp for my website. I have been told that it is on the server (don't have access to the actual server so far as installing components etc.).
But I keep getting an 'Invalid Class String' error.
Is there a way to list out the valid class strings or list the components on a server from a normal asp page (so I can see what is/isn't available).
What are the different alternatives to the line...
[VBS] Set xml = Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP")[/VBS]
that may be substituted depending on the version of it? Or is there another alternative to xmlhttp that will provide me with the source of a page on another server that may already be installed...?

I am using Dreamweaver MX 2004, and I am having one heck of a time connecting to a SQL Server DB. I can connect to the DB when I am using an ASP page and connecting with a local DNS, but I cannot connect when creating an ASP.NET and trying to connect with either an OLD DB Connection or a SQL Server Connection.
I am actually getting a "Connection Successful" when I am connecting with the OLE DB but as soon as I hit "OK" then no tables are found. When I try and test my connection once I out of the OLE DB connection GUI I get the following Error:

I'm passing a unique identifier from page1 to page2 to page3 querried from MS SQL Server. When I pass the value, it puts the value in the curly brackets. (Page1 is for display and Page2 is for edit and Page3 is update edit)
When I go to Page3, it gives me an error saying "Syntax error converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier" {7171B9BD-4599-43D9-9521-3DA583A1BB1A} This is the value and the error page says "id=%7B7171B9BD-4599-43D9-9521-3DA583A1BB1A%7D" It seems tp put "%7B" and "%7D" for "{" and "}". Has anyone seen this?
I'm also passing numbers and text and they don't seem to have this problem, just the unique key.

I'm developing an Asp.NET system to take a CSV file uploaded via the web, parse it, and insert the values into an SQL database. My sticking point comes when I try to split() the string returned by readline() on the file.
The following code snippet works for me:
tokens = "one,two,three,four".Split(",")
for each token in tokens
response.write("<td>"+token+"</td>")
next
However, if I take the next line in the CSV, read using StreamReader.ReadLine on the PostedFile.InputStream, I receive "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." which I have narrowed down to be my string holding the line. Further investigation reveals that no other string member functions work on my line (.ToCharArray, .ToString, etc).
I suspect that StreamReader.ReadLine is not correctly returning a string, even though Response.Write(line) displays what I would expect .....

Let me start by saying I'm fairly new to Asp coding. That said...
My ISP only uses AspSmartMail. I've created an online form that uses fill out, which is then e-mailed to the collector of the information and CC-ed to the person who submitted the information.
The error I'm receiving is this:
aspSmartMail.SendMail : Error 28 error '8004001a'
504 Invalid Username or Password
In my script, I've Dimensioned several items, as you'll see below, passing the authenticating username/password to the smtp server, but it's not working. I tried not passing the information by entering in the actual info without it being passed by the diminsioned items. This didn't work either. I of course verified that the username/password I'm usine is correct.
Can someone plase tell me why I can't authenicate? I would really appreciate any help that might be out there.
Relavant Asp code below:
-----------------------------------------
Dim smtpserver,youremail,yourpassword,yourusername,rem oteemail
'Edit these 3 values accordingly
smtpserver = "mail.smtp_server.org"
youremail = "yourname@smtp_server.org"
yourpassword = "password"
yourusername = "yourusername"
remoteemail = "email_address_to_send_to"
Dim ObjSendMail
Set ObjSendMail = Server.CreateObject("AspSmartMail.SmartMail")
'Config remote SMTP server info.
ObjSendMail.Server = smtpserver
ObjSendMail.ServerTimeOut = 35
ObjSendMail.SenderAddress = youremail
ObjSendMail.Password = yourpassword
ObjSendMail.Username = yourusername
'End remote SMTP server config.

ObjSendMail.Subject = "Email Subject"
ObjSendMail.SenderAddress = "Confirmation-NoReply@smtp_server.org"
ObjSendMail.SenderName = "SenderName"
ObjSendMail.ContentType = "text/html"
ObjSendMail.Body = strBody
'Note - strBody is Dimensioned elsewhere in my script to build the HTML message body.

'ObjSendMail.Send
ObjSendMail.SendMail
if err.number <> 0 then
response.write("Error n° " & err.number - vbobjecterror & " = " & err.description & "<br>")
else
Response.Write "aspSmartMail has sent your message with this file as attachment : <br>"
'Response.Write ObjSendMail.Attachments.Item(1).FilePathName
end if
