how do i link an asp page to a pdf document and render it (the pdf document)in a web browser without it downloading to the client computer viewing it?
i have tried the response.contenttype="application/pdf"
now the main problem is how to embed the pdf doc in that asp page!
I need to know how to write a link that will e-mail html code. If it's possible, I want to have the user click on a link and have Outlook open up with a title (this part already works) and the body filled with html code that I push in. Here is my current code:

The session values are from a previous asp page that links to this page when you click an the e-mail link.
The session values both show up when I put in a response.write and the title (which is not html, just text) works in the response.redirect -- Outlook opens just fine. The problem is with the msgblock which is in html. Do I need to write a script so that Outlook knows to format for html? Any ideas?
This link will take him to another page where I enter the email address of my friend. As soon as I submit this form Iam passing some parameters that will go along with my url which is however an IP address. When my friend receives the email in his hotmail account he is provided with my url address. When he clicks the url address my site opens as a frame in msn hotmail . When he gives the information a page is presented with the error message "404 -File cannot be found".
So when the URL address is clicked I need the form to be opened in a separate browser.
I like to know how to write this specifc function on ASP where the user eg: display a set of records on the webpage. Example the data are ID, Name and address.

I have inherited a set of web pages that use ASP and ACCESS to implement a job posting board. Its originator did not provide documentation. A page will do some work then invoke another page with certain name-value pairs. It may also set some session variables along the way. Before I can make needed changes, I need a way to document for myself just what the page set does now.
What is the best way to document data flow from page to page? What session variables this page creates? uses? alters?
What name value pairs it receives/expects?
This is a simple report that is supposed to render as an Excel document, for some reason it's not anymore, not sure why, I think it's related to permissions, we recently added a domain user as the anonymous user for the site, everyone has permissions to the virtual directory where the asp page is executed... I have tried several things including some scripting that I
found on the internet. This scripting works, however it opens the
merged document on the server instead of on the user's local machine.
I want the Word document to open on the local machine instead.

i have a field which contains html code, which is then rendered as a layout for several templates.the user can change the template if they so wish. the layout html is currently stored as a varchar 8000 - but 8000 characters is not enough for detailed layouts.
i dont know where to begin on this problem, does anybody have any useful links. i would search in more detail but i dont know the procedure is called for what i am doing
what i need to do, is have the asp refer to a html/text file and render the html directly from that file? Is this possible? or is there any other such ways to do the same thing.

The most pressing issue at the moment is that my browser does not display the page; it displays the ASP code. I built the page for a questionnaire that was going to be placed on my schools server so that participants could access it online, but I submitted my request too late in the semester.
I decided that the best course of action was to collect these data offline using the computers that I had bought for my lab. The laptops are running Windows 2000 Professional and are using IIS. After configuring ISS and Dreamweaver MX, I built the questionnaire. Then, I uploaded the questionnaire to the “server”—the wwwroot folder.
Now, the index page (the instructions to the questionnaire) opens flawlessly, but when the link to the questionnaire is pressed to open the ASP page, the browser displays the code and not the questionnaire itself.
When I explained this problem to people, they tell me that my server does not support server site scripting, but I’m using a Windows machine, using Windows server software, and Windows database software (Access 2000). Moreover, when I preview the page through Dreamweaver MX, Internet Explorer displays it without a problem. Code:

How can I remove the page.asp link from the address bar? For example I have a link called www.mysite.com/page.asp?f=1, after the user clicks on the menu navigation. How can I get rid of page.asp?f=1 so that only www.mysite.com appears? Another thing, will request.querystring still work then?

I have a user based service where each user has their own information, user settings, etc. I want to be able to add tables in my user settings and allow the users to enter in their IM Service (AIM, Yahoo, MSN, etc) and their screen name/user name.
That is the easy part.
What I do not understand or cannot figure out is how to link this information to the icons for each service they enter that will open up the appropriate service with their correct IM name, etc.
Basically I want to provide a way for my members to IM another member when they pull up that users information, or associated information, etc. Basically I need the script to make the Icon execute the correct IM service if the user clicking on it has the service installed as well. The majority of my members use AIM.
Where can I find information on how to install this kind of script and associate it with the users information and an icon?
The following html code appears in an ASP page. The hyperlink is set to
white (see the page link color), but when the page renders in IE 6.0, it
initially appears in maroon with a white border around it. When the user
clicks anywhere on the page, it turns white. Does anybody know how I can

This works great for pages/forms that only update a record or display the strings, but the problem I'm having is with a form that creates a brand new record using the passed data.
I use hidden inputs into the new record so that the user does not have to re-enter it but when they hit submit Front Page posts a confirmation page with a link to return to the same form. I need to change that link but cannot figure out where the confirmation page is generated.

I connected MS Exchange Server to MS Access database using Access link
table function. I can open the database table and see the fields and
data inside the link table. However, the table seems cannot be queried
by SQL statement.
My situation is:
I'm building an intranet. I have a ASP login page for all staff in the
company to login. Other people can't register or login the intranet.
That's the reason I use the company email address to verify username
login name.
After I made the link to the Global Address List (rename to
StaffList), I can see the Alias field. I wrote ASP code to use Alias
field to verify user login name. But, the ASP page seems experiencing
difficulties. I always got the "Connection Timeout" Error. Code:
user clicks the link which brings him/her to a secure page (let's call it page "X") which requires login session. If user is not logged in, he/she is redirected to a login page. how can I make user get redirected back to that original page (names "X") which threw him/her to login form?
I tried something like getting url name of page X and redirect to login with that name variable. After login, it gets redirected back to the page that sent variable. But it did not always work.
Is possible to define height and width of a page that I want to open with an HREF link on a blank page?
