Html Form Sending Over Blank Data
I have a form that is being sent over to an asp page. About 5% of the time, the form fields are blank when the ASP page is reading them. But when the user hit the submit button, they were not blank, because I have client-side validation that will not allow the submit to occur if any of the fields are blank. When this occurs, all the fields in the request.form object are blank?

I've been asked to take data from a form and then send it to a vbscript. The client
has made a vbscript that performs a calculation (i haven't been told a great deal
about it yet) and now they wish to put it online, so that when a user enters
data into a form, it sends the data to the relevant fields in the vbscript.
I don't know a great deal about Visual Basic, so if anyone could explain how i might be able to go about this ..

Im doing an asp.net-application where we have an external asp-form in a iframe on the mainpage. On submit, the form sends its data through method="get" to a page with a frameset (i couldnt get the data through POST).
In the framsetpage, the data is receieved in the frameset and then sent to the lower frame through querystrings. The lower frame is also an external asp-page.
My problem is this, the .NET-platform is using utf-8 and some other way of URL-decode things then the old platform did. So for example the swedish letter 'Ö' is in .NET URLdecode '%c3%96' and in the old asp-way '%D6'. The asp-page has no idea what '%c3%96' means so the formdata is a bit corrupted on arrival.
What i was wondering is if there are any ways of convert the new way of urldecode strings to the old way? Preferably in C# since thats the site's main programming language.

I have a member registration form that when the user clicks the submit button the form info is sent to a file name validate.asp.
The file validate.asp checks all the information to see if it correct and now I would like to have the data that was submitted added to an access database named members into a table that I named reginfo (registration info) and I have tried numerous ways to do this and spent countless hours browsing through websites but cant seem to get it to work. I suppose I could do a response.redirect to the script, but am wondering if there is a more direct way to do it. Something like the XMLHttp obj in js.

Is it possible to use ASP +/ VBScript to automatically fill in certain fields of an HTML form with data generated from what the user typed in another field?
For example, the user needs to input 24 consecutive weeks worth of forecast data. If everything is done manually, they'll have to type in a date for each of the week. I would like the form to automatically fill in the following 23 dates (each one week later than the previous field) after the user fill in the first week's date. How do I do that?

I want to display the contents of a field with a label if there is data in that field. If there isn't then I don't want the label to appear. I tried this:
<%If Venueinfo("email") = "" Then
Else%>Email: <a href="mailto:<%=Venueinfo("email")%>">Click to
email</a><br><%End If%>
But it doesn't seem to work. It seems to always display the label and link even though there is no data in that field.

What I need to know is how to click on a button that is labeled NEW, as in new record, and have the current form open to data input. That is a blank record. After the user then inputs the data to all the fields on the screen and hits the SAVE button the record will then be placed into the database table.

Just wondering if there is a way to give a default value to a form text box if it is left blank. I can set a default value for the textbox but then it shows up in the textbox and that is not what I want. I would like it just determine if the form is blank and change it to the needed value accordingly.
I'll ask a second part to this question as well in case I am going about this all wrong.
What I have is a search page where a user can search for names from a database. However if I have 5 textboxes of different criteria to search from then if all of them are filled then it would have to match a record in the database exactly....
but if only one or two textboxes are used then the other textboxes basically are now set to a wild card. In this case they would be "%". Also to make things more complicated I am using the frontpage DRW for the SQL query.

I have created a database were you submit a job by entering the fields which is fine if it is a site visit but if it is a phone call or remote help not all the fields need to be filled in but if there not filled in it wont submit the values to the database i get data mismatch error code is below.
I either need to be able to send them blank values to the database or ideally i wont to create a option box with Phone call, Site visit and remote help which when selected takes you to the correct page which have different values in the form to fill in.

I have a page that processes a form and one of the fields might be empty as it's optional if it gets selected or not.
In my process page I would like to check if the form field news_image is empty or not.
How would I do this?
<% If Request.Form("news_image") = "" Then %>
Is that how you do it?

I' m getting a (0x80040E2F) error, if I submit my form, with blank textboxes
to my update stored procedure. The stored procedure expect values, so how
can I detect if a form field was empty. I've tried testing to see if the
form field is null, blank and to count the characters, but I can't get it
working. My SQL table allows nulls, so it's not that.

I'm working on a form where the user is not required to fill out every text input. How mught I check for that in an ASP script. Here's what I have:
If Request.Form("mp3title1") == ""
amnt = 0;
Else If Request.Form("mp3title2") == ""
amnt = 1;
Else If Request.Form("mp3title3") == ""
amnt = 2;
Else If Request.Form("mp3title4") == ""
amnt = 3;
Else If Request.Form("mp3title5") == ""
amnt = 4;
End If
Pretty straight forward, its checking in order if the first element is left blank, is the correct technique:
== "", or is there more to it?

I created a feedback form for my website that has only 2 required fields. When you submit the form it calls my asp page which puts the information in a database and then sends me n email with the information that was entered into the form. The problem is that the form only has two required fileds, and if the remaining non required fields are left empty when the asp page is called it does write to the data base, but does not send me any email. However if I go back in and put somethng in every field in the form then when I submit the form and my asp page is called it writes to the data base and sends me an email with the all the information I entered in the feedback form. Is there a way to tell my asp page that it is ok to send the email even if the non required fields are left empty? I really do not want to have to go back through the form and put default values in for each area of the form? Also is there a way to have an error displayed if the email is not sent? My asp code is below....

I have a client that wants to send HTML based email.
Building and sending isn't a problem, but he wants to include a plain text link at the top of the email that will display if the user doesn't not accept HTML email. Maybe it is the product we are using to send the email, but there is no way to include non-HTML formatted text in the email. Is there a way to send non-HTML and HTML in a single email?

I am currently building an emailing system into our asp management system. From this we will be able to setup mail templates (html stored in mssql database) and select who we want to send them to.The html in the database is only the middle part of the html file being sent. All the emails are based on the same design template using a single html file to which I pass a variable saying which body to get from the database <%=writeBody%>. So far this is all working fine and the emails are sending using cdo.
..createMHTMLBody
"http://localhost/helpCentric/responseSendForm.asp?"&qString
What i am trying to do now is personalise the emails and on the responseSendForm.asp I connect to the database and create variables such as fName, lName etc.I need to be able to write these variables in the html in the database which will then display in the body using the <%=writeBody%>.As you may have guess this is not working and I dont know enough aboutthe .createMHTMLBody to work out what to do.

Can anyone get me started or point me to a resource for some help?
I have an ASP page that displays various boxes, tables, and information. I want to be able to click an "Email" button and have the asp page save the page as an attachment (html?) and then launch Outlook and automatically attach the page to it and enter the email address of the person I want to send it to.
I can't just send a link because the page is generated on an Intranet and I need to send it to people outside the network. So, I need to save a print screen of the page and then have Outlook grab that and the recipient's email address and put those into Outlook so the sender can review and send out.

I have a web form where a client can select which site members to send
an email to.
This form is populated from the contents of the member table, so the
form can have 0-x names listed on it depending on member expiration dates.
When the form is submitted, the code loops through the form contents and
sends an email to those members that meet the selected criteria.
All this worked perfectly when I was sending text emails, but since I
changed, it sends the message correctly, but the last person gets
everyone else as well. For example, if I have three members (mem1, mem2
and mem3) to send emails to, here is what happens
mem1 gets the correctly formatted message
mem2 gets mem1's correctly formatted message plus mem2's message - one
right after the other. Code:
