how i would go about using an if statment against a field in a database.

it's not working it's getting hung up at the response.write objrs part.
Sql In Statment
I have an sql statment with an in statment for ID . I'm trying to get the CompanyID in ( ) but all i get is just the word companyID with no value . i used response.write request.form("companyID") so i know the value is coming to the other page, this is what i have now.

how do i get the value of companyID in ().

what is missing fromt his sql statment its for an asp page that displays a list of results?

SQL Statment Variables
I am trying to pass a variable from another page to a sql statment. The variable specifies the one of the columns that I want the sql query to return. I also want to display field contents of the column later in my page. I can't seem to get this to work. Can someone give me a hand? Here is my code:

Reuse Of A SQL Statment
I have a sql statement that pulls up a certain amount of records according to a requirement. Let's say that 20 records show up. I want to get to the 5th one. Well now I know that I can use the move() function to enable that, but it is the same page.
The page executes the sql statement and by default shows the last record in the query. Now when I ask for the 5th record the page is reloaded, the sql statement exectures AGAIN and the 5th record shows up. Is there way to ask for the 5th record without having to re-executing the SQL statement?
ASP/Access SQL Statment
Given the following that results from a form which has multiple checkboxes with the same name value, the resulting string when stored into a variable is this - 129,200,323,330 I used the replace function and got this - 129 OR 200 OR 323 OR 330.
I want to somehow use these values (ints) to specify the particular records in an access database and populate a record set.
When I do this, I get nowhere - "Select * From images WHERE id=" & img_ids
Whereas img_ids is the above string...

I've got the following statment in my website:

What Is Wrong With My If Statment
I'm using the following code on my website:

My problem is even the "left(session("lastPage"), 5) is equal to "admin" it still not equal the variable session("return") to "". Can anyone please tell me why or what Im doing wrong?

I am Trying to use the SQL SELECT Statment to open records from multiple tables into one recordset.
I know the basic syntax of the Select statment but I wanted to know if its possible to recive the table name from the feild or the record that I am readinf from the recordset in any given moment.
To make things more clear, my example:

LEFT JOIN On A Date Field And A Numerical Field - Using WHERE Clause
I am using a Relational database for my site and i have the following tables:
FIXTURES, GAMEDATES
the fields in FIXTURES are:
GameDate
Home
Away
(All of the above are numerical fields)
the fields in GAMEDATES are:
DateID(integer)
GameDate(#Date Field#)
What i have done is in the GAMEDATE field in the FIXTURES table i have used the ID number of the date that i wish to assign to that record - using a LEFT JOIN to display the actual date that is pulled from the GAMEDATES table (That which corresponds to the relevant id used in Fixtures)
The problem is that in some of my code i want to display records using sql and sometimes in the where clause i use the following:
WHERE Fixtures.GameDate<=(Date())
obviously meaning WHERE GAMEDATE is LESS THAN or EQUAL to TODAY.
The thing is when i use the join it does not use the where clause and displays all of the records in the FIXTURES table.
Does any one know how to get around this, i have not received any error messages it just isnt displaying the right data

Comparing Field Data From Previous Field
Im comparing values in a field while doing a loop if sAct<>myData(5,i) then At the end of the loop I make the value of sAct equal the current myData
This will work when comparing other fields withing my recordset (so I know the statement works) but it will not work for the field I want to compare. The only difference with this field is that it has null values. Could this be the problem? if so, how do I deal with nulls?
Fill Field Based On Another Field
I have a input form with 5 fields. One of the fields is MajorNo and the other is named Description.
I have a reference table in my MS Access database (tblMajor)that lists the major numbers and their descriptions.
I would like to have the description field in my ASP automatically filled based on the major number entered on the form, so the user will only need to input the major number when submitting to the Access table (tblSalesTotal).

How Can I Change One Line Input Field Into Larger Input Field
I have being working with making an edit field over the past few days. The edit function is now working fine. The edit fields that i have are for id, subject, notes, timedate.
