inserting dynamic page code in .html page? i.e. i would like to insert a code which will display links. where my homepage link extension is .html. if it is .asp it would have been very easy. and also i would have worked fine. but now the problem is the homepage index file extension is .html.
so if i insert the code it is not displaying the links. i tried inserting the code in a separate file and saved as file.inc and gave the link from home page <!--#include file="file.inc"--> but still the link is not showing and not working.
im using some wysiwug editor called htmlarea to add some articles to the DB through textarea (something like that we use to add threads) but when the html code contains a link for example it gives error coz of the the ("") in the html tags .. it's something like this Code:
Does anyone know how I can insert daynamic text box data into a SQL Server database? I have text boxes that are being generated dynamically and I want each of those values inserted into the database that hold the results. I'm not sure how to write my loop statement.
I have an .asp page that contains a drop down menu, that when a selection is made, reformats the page to one of 22 different .asp pages. When clicked, the drop-down disappears and the options from it are formatted as a list on the left hand side of the page.
I need to format this so the list is in 3 columns, with the secection bold. I think I need about 4 if..then statements, but I've never done this before...here's the specific code, the code for the drop-down is first, then the code for the "quick link" list: Code:
I'm trying to insert either a & character or & into my Access table However, when I do so the character disappears (looks like a space). If I manually enter a & character into Access it works fine. I'm guessing there's some way to force these types of characters into Access.
I need to populate a field with html formated text. I'm using a simple form field to do so.
When I use a textarea to return the record, it comes out formatted, but when I use a Response.Write command, it comes out as plain text. Anyone can tell me how to make the response.write publish formated text?
if it is possible to insert and update records in a database from the data that is in an HTML table? I have a program that converts data to an HTML table and would like to be able to insert/update records to the database on the webserver.
I'm doing a content management system, whereby the user can enter the HTML code for a currency symbol, eg £ for £.y . when I bring this data backup, say they want to edit the settings, then my ASP/HTML page is rendering the HTML code, eg £, rather than showing the original value, eg £.
If for example I put a space between the '&' and the 'pound;', eg & pound; then this will cause me problems because the user will think that they have to a put a space in or they file it with the space, which means the HTML code won't work any more. Is there a way round this?
i'm trying to display certain labels, text boxes and dropdowns based on a session variable passed from a previous page. i'm wondering how i can do this with C# in an asp.net web app.
I have a table having 3 columns. There is a checkbox for each line. I need to get those lines whose checkboxes are checked, and show those lines to another webpage. Is there any way to do that? My concern is that all information in the table are in <tb></tb> pairs without any name tag. Any idea?
I have seen the discussion below of how to use dynamic includes to get the info into the page.
I am currently using an include to pull in a file containing user defined variables in vbscript. I pull these into the page which lets the user set certain variables without touching the ASP. Code:
I've project in asp, where we are using Database to create html controls. As per the current logic, we are creating one application variable on application_onstart event, it contain all records of table containing screen name, and other html control related information. Based on the screen user has requeted we get all those records from application variable and generate the screen. As per my knowledge this application variable contain around 8000 records, and since it is eating much time to maintain, and reducing speed, we want to remove this concept from our three tier based project.I've gone through XML, and XSLT concept, but before proceeding further,
I am currently building an emailing system into our asp management system. From this we will be able to setup mail templates (html stored in mssql database) and select who we want to send them to.The html in the database is only the middle part of the html file being sent. All the emails are based on the same design template using a single html file to which I pass a variable saying which body to get from the database <%=writeBody%>. So far this is all working fine and the emails are sending using cdo.
What i am trying to do now is personalise the emails and on the responseSendForm.asp I connect to the database and create variables such as fName, lName etc.I need to be able to write these variables in the html in the database which will then display in the body using the <%=writeBody%>.As you may have guess this is not working and I dont know enough aboutthe .createMHTMLBody to work out what to do.
I'm using CDO SYS to send email messages. I can attach a file just fine. However, I need to attach an HTML page that's generated on the fly by my ASP code. The attachment source code gets assembled into a VB string. How do I attach this? I think there was an easy way in CDONTS but that's no longer an option.
I am designing an Interactive website that uses MySql. At the moment I have just designed the Login pages for users. However to do this I have a Login.html page and a Login.asp page. The values from the html form is posted to the asp page which checks the details against the databse and redirects the user acordingly.
However I would like to have just one Login.asp page where this is all done in. I have tried simply putting the html code into the asp page but the problem is that as soon as i run the login.asp page (on IIS), the asp code is also run. How can I change this so that only once the user clicks on the submit form button, only then the asp code is executed?
I've been farting around with trying to make some dropdown boxes populate based on the value selected from the first drop down box..
I have 3 DropDowns..
1)PumpType 2)PumpMfg 3)PumpModel
the first one takes all the pump types from a database table called pumptypes and populates it
the second dropdown gets its values from an sql query to a second database table called pumpdata that puts all the manufacturers that have that have a pump that matches the type selected in the first dropdown.
the third box does essentially the same thing but looks for all the models based on the values of the first 2 dropdowns..
whats happening is when I select the pump type it goes to the next page without allowing me to select the other 2 boxes.
is there a way to run an ASP script from an html page?the script is obviously written on an ASP page elsewhere but I want it run from HTML or SHTML.so they dont figure out the URL of my ASP page.
I have creating a simple ASP guestbook using an Access Database, is there any of disabling HTML code so that visitors cant post HTML in the guestbook entries?
<a href="contact.asp?subject=Question about group <%=(Recordset1.Fields.Item("group_name").Value)%>">Send a message</a>
I am actually putting above info in an Access field. People would be able to send me email through a form in contact.asp and I want the subject line reflect which page they came from.
So, when my search returns the result I need one of the fields to be clickable and show the customer's info for the clicked customer. So, lets say we make the ID clickable. So, my HTML has to look like:Code:
<input type = "submit" value="sqlrs("ID")">
How do I construct that in ASP since, using " in strings ends it and same with Response.write methods.
How would I insert this code into a .HTML document rather than a .ASP document.
<% Set MyFileObj = Server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set MyTextFile = MyFileObj.OpenTextFile(Server.MapPath("content.txt")) WHILE NOT MyTextFile.AtEndOfStream Response.Write(MyTextFile.ReadLine & "<BR>") WEND MyTextFile.Close %>
,I need to call a URL, receive the raw html in my VB Script code and parse it to retrieve a value from a cgi generated web page on a remote Apache Web server.
What is the best method to accomplish this in ASP 1.0?
I have a page which has a header finding out some variables from request.querystring and other places. Later on in the page in what is normal HTML code I want to use the variable but am having to do this:
is there any way i can just have the line with the variable being interpreted without having to go into a code protect and write the line out with code. Something like this:
I have a e-mail function in serverside VB, how would i put html code in the body variable so when email is recieved it looks like html page in the body. right now it just shows up as text in the body of message,
I've been building an ASP app that sits on top of a relational database (MS Access). The problem is that the data from some web forms need to be stored in different tables. Currently I am using multiple SQL Insert statements.
The problem with this approach is that it is possible that several inserts would succeed and then one would fail. This would ruin my database. Is there some way to synchronize the Insert commands or to "flush" the commands at the same time? I need the Insert statements to either all succeed or all fail.
i have a database and the asp file. my database will have one table, a user table, with various fields like username, password, name...age.. all i need is the html code to make a simple form such as
Welcome to the add user page: PLease enter a username (input box) Please enter an email address (input box) finally a submit button.
i then want the variables to run a 'signup.asp' file which i have, and be placed into a database.
i have setup a form on a normal http page which collects name address etc and is then passed to a https page to collect credit card details, on clicking submit on the https page the credit card details are inserted in db on secure server along with one field that was passed from the http page (the user id).
this all works ok, however i then need to pass the remaining orignal form values back to another http page that then inserts these values to another DB. ok you may be asking why.... the first forms allows the user to correct information already held on file before upgrading their listing, i then need them to pay for the upgrade before inserting the amended data in the orignal database... How..
