View RepliesI was wondering is there is a way to neaten up or rather seperate the main layout and the asp codes? For example, to have a main.asp(which is solely the design and layout) and include other .asp files that retrives and records the records.

I think it is refering to the fact that I have a file called

This LINE should not contain '..' to indicate the parent directory
On the other hand, reading the message as it is written, we see that it

So the user will need to be able to Rename files or folders, Delete files or folders and move files or folders.
I can handle writing the code to do this but I am stuck on a user interface. Does anyone have a good example they would be willing to show me?
I have a main window which shows all records from a table. When a user clicks on "Edit" for a record, a popup showing information of the selected record is displayed.
The user then changes the information on the popup and clicks "OK" button which calls an ASP page to update that record in the table. Everything works with no problem up to this stage.
My problem start after the update process. I need to know how to close the popup and then refresh the main window showing the updated information....

View Replies View RelatedI have coded my pages in HTML and named them as ASP. I would like to use a trailing string i.e. domain.com/page.asp@somthing=4 . which pulls from a database of plan names and corresponding prices over a user selected interval. I want to offer pricing over these intervals:
1month
3months
6months
12months
24months
with a percentage discount being offered for each greater length of time. The user should be able to use radio buttons to select how to pay and after this a paypal button should be generated with the designated amount.
Now that I have layed out what my intensions are, does anyone have any ideas of how to complete my goals using ASP? and if ASP will not do the trick does anyone know of a better/differnat way to do this.
I have the following problem. As some of you already know (because they already helped me a lot), I am showing data in a table. The first code is correct. It shows my numbers with two digits behind the comma and negative numbers in brackets and in red. Code:
View Replies View RelatedI am building my own webpage using HTML, Access DB and ASP. I have built the HTML pages but I have one query. I posted this in HTML forum already and was told to ask here. I have a form that is filled in by the web administrator that must be displayed on main page. It is a timetable for a cinema and the information can be submitted into a database table.
I only want to have a maximum of 3 rows in the table, one for each screen. Is this possible? My other query is when Im extracting the film information from the db table to the users page I want it to look lilke something resembling this:
Screen: 1 Screen: 2 Screen: 3
Film: Oceans 12 Film: The Village Film: Shrek
Mon: 8.00 Mon: 8.00 Mon: 8.00
Tue: 8.00 Tue: 8.00 Tue: 8.00

Thu: 8.00 Thu: 8.00 Thu: 8.00
Fri: 8.00 Fri: 8.00 Fri: 8.00
Do I create a html table for each that is overwritten once, say, "The Terminal" is entered instead of "Oceans 12" in screen 1 by the administrator?

I have a single asp page (index.asp) with an include file (include.asp). I would like to query the database with index.asp as well as query it with include.asp.
I searched online, in my "SAMS Teach yourself active server pages 3.0 in 21 days" and it makes no mention of two queries on a single page. Is this even possible?
Ive some records with the same ID on my DB, for example:
ID Name
1 John
1 Paul
1 Anna
2 Susan
2 George
What I'd like to know is how can I list them separated by ID. For example:
REGISTRIES WITH ID 1
-John
-Paul
-Anna
REGISTRIES WITH ID 2
-Susan
-George
I have a repeating region set up in Dreamweaver for products. At the minute, when processed the records come out like this (one after the other)

However, I want to have three in a row (until end of table)
x x x
x x x
x x
Is there anyway to accomplish this?

I am semi-new to ASP. I'm in the process of making several reports and I wanted to condense one of our reports to fit nicely on a web page. This report consists of about 5 different queries.
I want to make a table like the one below in ASP. I thought I would just make a table and go from there but I quickly realized I can't.
We have a web site IIS 5 (on Win2000k) with Oracle 9i backend (Sun unix).
There is 1 user ID to oracle(APT_W3) that is used by all users (50).
We have a global.asa file that has one APP Start connection string using OLE
DB:
Application("dbConnString")="Provider=MSDAORA.1;Password='SDERSD';User
ID=APT_W3;Data Source=CCEWSDD1_new;Locale Identifier=1033;OLE DB services=-1"
The first page that a user sees asks that they select the area they want to
see (western, northern, etc) from a dropdown menu. Once they select it and
hit save they can go to other pages, session varibles indicating what area
they selected are then passed to pages. Currently all areas are in one
database.
What we want to do is have areas in separate dbs, a northern one, a western
one.etc. Each will have separate user ids (APT_W2N, APT_W3W,etc).
We want the users to have the web page presented to them where they select an
area. Based on the area they select, the appropriate conneciton string will
be used (the one in the global asa). Code:
i have this css file.
default.css
Code:
#navcontainer ul
{
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
list-style-type: none;
}
when i put both codes at 1 file, everything are ok, but when i separeted them into different files, nothing happened. what's wrong with the code?
I am developping a web-based file browser. Everything so far so good right now.
To make the userinterface more conveniant, I want to split my file list in
pages. with
Set oFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Set oFolder = oFSO.GetFolder(CurrentPATH)
Set oFolderContents = oFolder.Files
For Each oFileItem in oFolder.Files
(...)
Next
I get a list of all my files in oFolderContents. Is there a easy way to
-split the whole list up in pages of i.e. 20 files
-show general info (i.e. xxx files in folder, listing 20 files on page y/z)
-let the user have the possibility to call the page with index i, where i
stands for the i-th file on the list
any good links out there?
I have a table layed out in SQL 2000 like the following:
Username Date Hours Period
john 1/1 10 1
john 1/2 20 1
How simple is it for me to build a data entry form in ASP that would display this with input boxs for the hours field. The problem is I need it to span left to right on th eweb page.
Period 1
1/1 1/2 etc------------>
box box
SUBMIT BUTTON.
The key to the look would be the current period.
i have a search form that will only search the whole string when

i need to convert some existing templates into ASP, and have come across a stumbling block (which is probably only due to my complete lack of knowledge of all things ASP related ):
is it possible to include files held on a completely separate domain ? the standards include statement only seems to have file and virtual capabilities, and nothing comparable to php's capability of doing something like Code:
include('http://www.someotherdomain.com/includes/somefile.html');
could anybody enlighten me with some workable code ?
How can I correct an address if the user forgets a space between the number and street name? For example, "1600Main Street" would be corrected to "1600 Main Street".
Is there a way to go step by step from the left and enter a space if I hit a letter or stop if I hit a space?
I have a table with a number of 'advertisements', and each ad specifies a page display location (#1 - #9). I would like to query for all ads, but display them only where they have their location (see image above). I currently have 9 different SQL queries, one for each location:
"SELECT * FROM tb_ads WHERE f_adlocation = 1
I would like to have one query, and at location 1, simply say: "If f_adlocation = 1, then display here. If there is more than one, then repeat as necessary". Here is what my database looks like: I have attached sample data as a .txt file.
I have two sites on my computer. I am using a same page in the two sites.
I set my IE to Korean (testing purpose) encoding for testing
internationalization.
When I hit the same page in two separate sites, one shows the foreign
characters in Korean, but the other shows garbage-looking characters.
I am using the exactly the same page.
I need to get data from a string that is like:
2_1
34_1
126_3
I need the numbers on the left in one string and then the numbers on the right that needs to be in a separate string.
I want to provide a lookup facility for users to select a code from a list. I want this to be done in a small popup window, which, when a code is selected, will close down and return the selected value to the main form. Can this be done ??
