I wanna write asp code to pick up *.MAI from particular folder and read them. There is no problem with reading the file but how can I pick up the latest file from particular folder?

Displaying Latest File In A Directory
I have a folder with eight or ten files that can be displayed in a browser. I need to display the file with the latest creation date. I imagine there is some kind of ASP function that could like at the filename's date and pick the file that meets the criteria. How can I do this?

Regular Expression :: Pick Out SQL Statement
I'm trying to work out a reg.exp. that will pick out a sql statement against a certain set of tables - in this case any table named "Survey~something~", but I only want to pull back those statements where the CompanyID column doesn't appear in the query. (The expression is being used in my editor so it might appear a little strange, but by and large it works the same as you'd expect.)

What do I need to add so that I get those without a companyid column?

I would liek to select certain ESN number from my databas by the latest date. Even if the date on it is not current. Just all info by the latest dat.

I have a database with multiple records which are often updated. I am trying to display the latest entry in a certain way (with css div styles) and then list the rest of the entries another, less elaborate way.
Is there a good / preferred way to do this? Right now I have it so that it SELECTS TOP 1, displays that in a certain DIV, and then SELECTS * - however what is wrong with this is that it displays the first record twice.

i have table Comment and Customer. Customer is a registered customer. but, comment can be given by registered or non-registered customer. right now, i have 6 records which are 3 registered customer and 3 non-registered customer in Comment table.
for the non-registered customer, i put as a Guest for their name while registered customer, i have display his/her real name. my problem is, the latest record in Comment is a registered customer and her name is displayed in the html table but the rest registered customers, their names are not displayed. something wrong is there. for the non-registered customer, no problem at all. this is my script. at this page also has paging script. I downloaded the latest version of the VB scripting engine for Windows 98 as I needed to have support for regular expressions. Everything was fine yesterday but when I switched my pc on this morning and tried to access micros personal web server/web manager via start/programs, the page where I click 'start' does not appear.

I'm trying to find .asp pages with a certain table name (i.e.
"renewalInfo" )
When I ran the search I get no results. I know that I have that string in a
couple of pages. My file system search engine is working fine with other
file types, like Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, etc.
I tried typing the string outside the <% %> tags and when I do the search I
get the file results, so it seems like if the search engine in my file

File Upload - Need To Check File Size
I'm having a problem with the fact that I want to allow image files to be uploaded to a remote web server, as the hosting package the web site is on is IIS6 and has a default file upload size limit of 200kb. As it's a shared hosting package, the default limit cannot be changed for me unfortunately.
Anyway - i need to check the size of the file being uploaded, so i can notify the user and prevent them getting the default Microsoft error message page. The problem is that I can't implement a server side size check which works, using either Request.TotalBytes or load.getFileSize (with "load" being an object of my loader class). It seems that I can't carry out any of these operations when the file size is too large.
Executing A Asp File Inside A Executed File
I'm trying to run the server.execute command inside a executed file. It doesn't work. Can anybody tell me why? I've searched all around and haven't found a reason. Could it be because it's not supose to work, or is the syntax diferent then in the first file?

I have an asp page written entirely in jscript with a vbscript used as an include file which one variable on the page must access.
When the page runs, I run into jscript complilation errors when it tries to access the include file (since it is written in vbscript), and I can't figure out how to get the two to work together. How do you get both scripting languages to work on the same page?

I would like to add a facility to my web page which allows users to upload basic files (word, excel, text, gif, jpg etc) to the server.
I know there's a facility to do this using HMTL forms, but I don't know how to handle the file on the server side.
What I think I need is an ASP file running some code to manipulate the filesystemobject, allowing me to receive the file and store it in the filesystem on the server. It would be nice to access some of the file properties too (name, type etc).
I've seen a few custom components online which allow you to do this, but I can't depend on installing them. I need to be able to script it myself.
