Populate Data From Public Websites
I am going to construct a housing search website ... similar to www.mls.ca ... is there anyway I can populate the data(s) stores in their database? So when my user search for one kind of house, my website will return the data from the MLS database? Or there is similar way to get data from public websites?
Also, if a user search "sport" in my search text box, it will returns all the related links ... just like those search engine ... how can I acheive that? Or I need to pay or register to get the function?

i used sql code above to display data in a table. basically, the flow is like this. when there is a new reservation, a staff will be assigned to handle that reservation from the beginning until the end. before this, i just display a staffCode that retrieved from Reservation table.
then, i made changes to display staffName and removed staffCode from the table (based on requirement). but, because previously, there are some reservations that have been assigned to staff, i do not have any problem to view all data in the table.
but, when i click other reservations that have not assigned to any staff, an error page came out. the default value for staffCode in the Reservation table is null. because this null value, i've got an error page. is there any steps i can use to solve it?

I have a simple application setup where people can submit a request for a sample of our product to be mailed to them. It's a very simple form with name and address information. I have a page setup where our warehouse guys can pull up current requests and then the plan is to use USPS.com to print shipping lables.
While it's already a big time saver, they're still having to either copy/paste or re-type the information into USPS.com's forms. Knowing the names of the form fields on their site, is there a way I can populate their forms with the data in my recordset from my details page?
For instance, they pull up the current requests and they click into the details page for one of them which lists the person's name and address. If I have the USPS.com page open in another window and on the screen which contains the form fields is there a way to call that page and populate those fields accordingly?

I have a couple fields in an Access DB that have parenthesis in the name:
EST(Minutes), EST(Seconds)
When I try and populate the dataset and then bind the datagrid it claims there is no field having that name. Can parenthesis be used in fieldnames. If so, can you please tell me the correct syntax please.

We have an ASP site that hits up an Access database of categories of
products and products. (e.g. Categories = Napkins, Tablecloths;
Products = 20x20 Napkins, 21x21 Napkins, 54x54 Tablecloths, 60x60
Tablecloths)
We currently have select boxes that when you select a category, it
populates the next select box with the proper list of products (i.e. I
select Napkins as a category, I get a listing of the Napkins)
We would like to put a clickable link before each of these select
boxes that would pull up a pop up with links from the records from the
proper table.
(e.g. I click the categories link and a popup with html
anchor tags of Napkins and Tablecloths appear) I click on the Napkins
anchor and it populates the Categories Select box with Categories and
Napkins being selected.

I'm looking for the best software out there that can create simple websites for clients. Basically, a client pays a small monthly fee and they're given a website where they can display whatever they'd like. Something sorta like Geocities in a way. I've searched aspin.com but I couldn't find what I was looking for. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd rather buy something already made then to start from scratch and develop my own.

I have registered a domain that forwards every hit to my home PC. I have configured Default Web site to show one Web from my PC. So when people navigate to www.mydomain.com they see that site. What if I want to how more then one web site? Is there a way of doing that?

If I am updating a list of records for a user on an asp page, is there
a way to hold the page updating, even if they refresh the page, until I
have updated all the records.
i.e. rather than them seeing records change 1 at a time if they
refreshed their page, all the records would update together in 1 go, a
bit like a batch update ?
The source is from a MySQL db which is fed from an MS Access front end.
This could be an MS Access issue, in which case I will post there
instead.

Im coming from a visual basic 6 background.
I am making an ASP script with vbscript language.
anyways, in vb6, you can create a 'module' and put "public" functions and variables there.
how do I do that in ASP? i have a couple of functions that will be basically used on all pages (a function to prevent SQL injection).
So how do I create a page with all the public functions and use them on other pages?

Can I create a Function or Sub in my GLOBAL.ASA file for all pages of my application to use? If not, how does one do this? For example, I have an "IIF" function since it isn't natively implemented in ASP. Currently I have an Include directive on every page that includes the scripting for this function. I'd rather just declare it once, globally.

I'm trying to produce a custom favourite’s section for my site so that users can store links to their favourite’s websites.
I would like to use Cookies to do this rather than make the user log in and use a database.
I would like the user to be able to create as many links as they want and be able to edit and delete individual links.

Would anyone have a way to access certain Exchange public folders that
contain news group emails, perform a query on the folders for keywords and
return a list of those emails?

I get no errors at all. The path to db is ok.
The script acts very very strange. On the first run, it seems that everything is ok, but the page freezes on half [the blue bar on bottom of browser]. If I'll stop the script, on the second run, the page loads very quick, but nothing happens.

I'm creating a web application for my company now. This application has 2
parts. 1 part for the customers to access. The 2nd part is for our staff to
access only. My director hopes to make the 2nd part to be something like an
intranet, such that only our company's computers (maybe only 1 or 2 in the
company) can login to this part of the application.
1. My company's intending to put the application on shared server with a web
host. Windows Authentication is NOT allowed.
2. My company doesn't have a static IP address.
3. My manager suggested using Network Card number (which I don't really
quite understand. Is there a way to get the Network Card number that's on a
client PC?).

Some ISP told us that they can provide a firewall management feature such
that it will restrict access to the website from anyone that is not coming
from my company's network. This requires Static IP.
Another told me that IIS Manager has the security feature that restrict
access based on IP address. This requires Static IP again.
Is it possible to implement the 2nd part (the part that is to be accessed by
my company's PC) as a windows application instead? Then we only put the
windows application on one computer. So, 1st part (for the public) will be a
web application, 2nd part (for my company) is a windows application, both
accessing the same database server from an ISP. Will the ISP allow the
windows application to access its database server? I've no experience in
making a windows application at all, is it the same as making a web
application?

I am trying to take all the messages that are in a public message folder and export them to a database and then from there I can output to a webpage. I have it set up so I can do it all manually.I have to copy them all to a persoanl folder and from there I can export to a database.
I am looking for a way to automatically. Is it going to be possible to do, or will I need to take a look at making a Macro to do it? I havent done any real VB in quite some time, just VBScript in ASP's. I am trying to avoid doing the macro thing.

I've got ASP files in many sub-folders of many levels deep.
I've always used:

The VIRTUALSITE name is really the virtual directory created under
IIS.
I clone my website multiple times, to cater for different people. So,
each person gets a different VIRTUALSITE name.
This gets messy when I need to update the websites. I can't do a
diff/merge because the files of each site had a "search & replace"
applied to them to change the VIRTUALSITE name to the corresponding
person.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Can someone give me some
tips/solution on how to resolve this?

I am running it on IIS, access db, and ASP.
The user selects from several dropdown boxes, on different pages assessing different faults with a particular job. Finally it comes to the last page and displays all the various bits and pieces that have been selected along the way,
THE PROBLEM, ERR CHALLENGE....
It also needs to populate an email link to display the info selected and then which is emailed to an administrator for approval.
And then exported to excel format.

I have a form with a select control called "Last Name" and 1 text box called " First Name". In the select drop-down I have a list of last names pulled from the database. Also the second text box first_name value will be pulled from the database also.
When a user selects a last name from the list I want it to automatically update the first name textbox based on their selection. Ie. The persons first name is put into the textbox.I need to take the values of both(First Name and Last name) and send them to another page
