View RepliesI am trying to store the current date to an ms access database on my server.
I set it up with a dsnless connection.
Here is the statement:
Insert Into employees(timestamp) Values ('" & date() & "')"
the timestamp field is of type date/time in the ms access database.
I get an error saying the insert statement is invalid. Cannot get you the
exact error, my server is down.
But it seems that the syntax is correct.
I have an asp form which is capable of entering a Now() datetime stamp. Can anyone show me how I can then use this information to let change some text once 48 hours has passed? I.E. compare the now() time stamp with time now. As yet I've tried to use Date() but this does not count to exactly 48 hours after the initial time stamp.

I am trying to replicate the Unix Timestamp,specifically the function
mktime() in Vbscript, ASP. I have the following so far:
ThisTime = DateSerial(2004, 9, 27) + TimeSerial(0, 0, 0)
response.write DateDiff("s", "12/31/1969 00:00:00", ThisTime)
This returns the timestamp: 1096329600, and when you decode that it comes
to: 27 Sep 2004 20:00. I want to set the time too, ie. show for example: 27
Sep 2004 16:15
I'd like to stamp a field (Visitors_FulfilmentDate) with the current Date/Time (it is SQL2000 - smalldatetime datatype).
Using ASP - would like to set Visitors_FulfilmentDate to whatever is the current date/time. Tried using Now() but it doesn't work ("[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]'Now' is not a recognized function name. ") :
strSQL = "UPDATE Visitors SET Visitors_Fulfilled = 1, Visitors_FulfilmentDate = Now() WHERE Visitors_ID = "& strFulfilmentCode ....
i have some vars throughout an application that has a time stamp in the format:

i'm trying to change this and am having no luck, any suggestions:
varDate = "8/30/2006"
Replace(varDate, inStr(Left(varDate "/", 2)&"/"), Right(varDate, 4)&"-")
I have been working on a form that updates an access database via a SQL statement. I believe I have the SQL part correct as when I do the response.write SQL I get what I believe to be correct. Code:

I'm a complete beginner when it comes to ASP (CF and PHP are my regulars) and am trying to help a friend out with a very basic form on his site. It's your standard issue "fill this out for more info" HTML form, which will be processed by an ASP script, and then spit out a "thank you" page at the end. The thank you page will not have to display any information about the request.
The entire form is working great, collecting the visitor's name, e-mail address, phone number, and info from some radio buttons. But we'd like to add an automatic time/date stamp so that when the form is submitted and then received by the site's owner at the other end via e-mail, it also shows the date and time it was sent. I imagine we'd use some sort of hidden field? I'm of course open to any ideas.
The format of a sample e-mail could then be:
Date/Time Submitted: 2003/04/26, 11:03 pm
Name: bob joe
E-mail: bob@joe.com
Phone Number: 000-000-0000
Unless you declared those session variables earlier, they have no data in them. Assuming this information is coming from a form, try using request.form("fieldname") instead of the session variables.
If this doesn't address your problem, give more detail about what "isn't working"
there i was just windering how do i compare a date/time vlaue in sql server agaisnt the computers' date/time.

When more than one user send data into Database same time using following code, do you think the code is correct? I concern if 2 users send data into DB same time, it is one user is ok and another is failed, or both ok, or both failed? If this happened, how to make that work? I remember syncnization/parallel thread can be used to solve this issue, but don't know how. Any suggestion and sample code? Code:

I am developing site in asp where I need to call a url at every interval. Is there a way to automate this. I want to call the url every 15 or 30 mins.
Cureently I have written a asp script tp call it using
Set objWinHttp = Server.CreateObject("WinHttp.WinHttpRequest.5.1")
objWinHttp.Open "GET",URL
objWinHttp.Send ' Send it.
strResponse3 = objWinHttp.ResponseText ' Get the response string from the object.
But it is not schedule..I can call it only when I rum the asp script. So is there any way I can schedule this url call for every 15/30 minutes.
Also forgot to mention : the site does not have that much traffic that I can add it in index page...there may be a user visiting the site in 5 hours time or within next 5 mins or for next 2 days there may be no visitor.

I have two forms, one on each page. The user fills the first, then the second, then on the third page all the information is displayed for the user to make sure thats what they want to send.
Then they click submit on the third page and it goes through a database and depending on which category, state and county the user selected it will email all the information displayed on that third page to all the emails in the Email field in the database.
Now, I already have the first and second pages(easy enough) and the third page I can get it to display all the info how I want it and now I need to know how to go about emailing that info to the emails that match the specific fields? Right now all I have it doing on the third page, instead of submitting it for emailing, it just displays the info from the forms AND emails that match from the database. Code:

When a student taking a quiz having a duration of 2 hrs, a timer will start and keep track the time.
So if he logout or close the window, the remaining time should be recorded into the database. And when he take the same quiz again, the timer will not restart but continue from the previous time.
E.g i take a quiz having a duration of 60mins, and when i logout the time duration remain is 30mins. And when i logon and take the quiz again, the timer countdown from there 30mins but not begining of 60mins.

There's an access database on an iisserver and asp makes updates to it. The
database got moved to a newer server. The users used to be able to open the
database and use the asp pages at the same time. Now when the database is
open the asp pages won't update.
Ive got some code on my site that shows how current the database is. Basically it looks at fixed text file that I am basing the database on, checks to see iwhen it was created, then displays the time.
My webserver must be on the East Coast and I am on the West Coast, so the time the stamped file time is 3 hours ahead. Code:
