I have a dynamic form sending information via name=value pairs.I know I can read the value of each element in the sending form by using the following....

but since it's a dynamic entry page (it's built based on number of fields in a database), I need to know the name of each element also.not just the value.Is there a good way to get the "name" portion of the element on the form without having to parse through the request.form string?
I have noticed on some forms that when a user submits the form and there is a textarea element that a lot of extra whitespace is getting submitted at the end of the elements content. What's going on.

data in the DB. All TD elements are ID and runat=server.
Changing the attributes of a SINGLE TD is simple:

I have not been able to find a way to (essentially) say:

}
in J-Script, I could do it by Eval() or about eight ways through the
DOM. It seems crazy to me that if I can access the Attributes of a
specific element directly by ID (thisTD.Attributes), I couldn't also
access it by reference.
But I have been able to find NOTHING to indicate how this may be done.
Obviously, my problem is not limited to a single attribute, or else I
would have just typed them all out by now. Trouble is, there is a lot
of logic that must be applied to the data before setting the
attribute. Without being able to iterate or loop by reference, I will
be typing for ages just to change some freaking classes.

View Replies View RelatedI am writing a multi page form. I am using hidden input statements to pass my variables between different pages. Now I want to provide a page whereusers can update the previous entered data. The form at this point is populated through the hidden variables.
But as I submit after making any changes. the hidden values instad of updating get an extra value. Is there any way to get around it.
I have been investigating how to create a multi page form in Frontpage that
eventually will allow an emailed result. I can write the asp to "post" from one
page to the next easily enough but when it comes to the last page, I can't
figure out how to email the results. the syntax "response.write" will write to a
web page but it won't fill in the content of am email. I thought of putting the
"response.write" inside the body of a CDO.message but that leads to the next
question...
While looking at threads about the subject I keep seeing that I should use
CDO (or CDONTS) or a third party app like aspmail. All of which, from what I can
gather, use IIS SMTP service to function.
The problem I will have is that I have Exchange 5.5 on the same machine so
the SMTP on IIS won't start since ex5.5 uses that port. I have ex2k on another
machine that I will soon move the users over to so that will free up the IIS
port but I would prefer using the new mail server for this when it is running.
Is there a method for using the ex5.5/ex2k mail system for sending the asp
generated email? or perhaps another technique? I would prefer to just write it
but if I have to buy something I will.
what i want to do is have a (multi dimensional?) array, so that each second dimension represnts a row of radiobuttons. The trouble is i don't know what to name the arrays as. Obviously for each row the names for the different radio buttons will be the same, meaning you can only select one.
in php you could do it with a single array as you name each row of radio button differently:
1st row:
name='array[0]'
2nd:
name='array[1]'
in asp it doesn't look like you can do it this way, because to create a similar array you'd do something like
1st row:
name='array'
2nd
name='array'
then use split in the recipient script. This does not work however, because each radiobutton (on all rows) has the same name, and therefore when you click one all the rest on every row are unclicked..
I am trying to create a form where you may have more than one person
at a meeting, but want to have them be related to the same meeting.
I have a mulitple select text area and if you select more than one,
all the records are being added to the same row. so if I picked the
following three people:
(Person ID/Desc)
1 - mickey mouse
2 - donald duck
3 - goofy
The row in the data base would look like this:
(Meeting ID/ Person ID)
1 - 1,2,3
But I would like to do this:
(Meeting ID/ Person ID)
1 - 1
1 - 2
1 - 3
I hope this makes sense, if it does does anyone have a suggest on how to best do this?

I'm developing a content management system that uses a file uploader. The uploader works fine and uploads the file when using a mac computer, but doesn't upload the file when using a PC. I am thinking this is a path issue??

I am trying ur code, but when I wan to upload a file that greater than the file size above, it show page cant be display.actually I am planning to upload a video file that around 10MB
I need to use an script that uploads via one of these three components: ASPUpload, SA-FileUp or SmartUpload.
If any of you have some recommendations or know upload scripts using one of these components, it'd be great. Unfortunately, I need it to be able to upload huge files on the server (300 megs).

View Replies View RelatedSo I've been using ShadowWizard's uploader, but when I try to upload large (>100kb or so) photos, it runs for ages (several minutes) then times out.
Testing with a 700kb file, it takes only a short while to upload to RapidShare (at about 30kbps), but when I try to upload it to the local script, it uploads at about 30 kbps for a while, then drops off to 0 at about 20-30 seconds, although the page doesn't finish loading, and then the script times out, a while later.
EDIT: Oops, shouldn't have an apostrophe there. Seems it won't be removed from the thread title.
I've been having some trouble with a file uploader script, the script times out when running, I have tried extending the default timeout length. I have also tried a couple of other file upload scripts and thay all time out too. I can't seem to find a cause to the problem.

Do you have a version that allows simply the upload of native docs that does not check for images and size of images?
Also, after I select UPLOAD, the results page show the browse buttons repeated. I would just like to show the results and then a button that hrefs to another asp page, is that possible and how?
But what should I do in order to e-mail the files uploaded ? What I mean is that when the files are uploaded I also want to be e-mailed at the same time.

Im building an image uploader to be used so that a client can upload images from their desktop to the site.
Is it correct that I have to download the cpshost.dll from microsoft and then
upload that file in a folder named for instance Scripts, so that the form is able to
upload images before moving onto the processing asp page (manageproducts.asp).

I found this Shadow Uploader on here, and i see that you can have an email sent, but im having troubles understanding how the email bit works
All i want is for an email to be sent to me saying 'Someone has uploaded an image' and the text from the 'name' field..
Normally i would try and do this for myself, but the site needs to be running by Tuesday and ive got no more time to much around with it.
