View Replies View RelatedI have an asp page that successfully writes out the form data to a text
file. I would like to use Blat (or other free email utility) to send
the contents of the text file to a user. The code to email is as
follows:
Dim stdout, shell, cmd
function ExecCmd(cmdline)
set stdout = wscript.stdout
set shell = createobject("wscript.shell")
set cmd = shell.Exec(cmdline)
do until cmd.status=1: wscript.sleep 5:loop
ExecCmd = cmd.stdout.readall
End Function
ExecCmd("blat .prodapp.txt -s "Product Info" -t Join Bytes!")
I am guessing that it may not like the two sets of double quotes. Is it
possible to do this? The company is not willing to spend $$$$$ on
actual sendmail package.
i have many *.html* pages with the same header. i wanted to make one *header* file and put a link to that file in all html pages. So if i ever need to make changes in the header, i will need to edit only 1 file rather than all pages.
for *.asp* pages this code works fine:-
<!-- #include file="filename.inc" -->
but the same **include** does not work for *.html* pages. i guess there is some other way to put a link!
(incidentally, the more i look at it, the more i feel i should point out that to be totally sure your SQL statement is correct you should write it like:
INSERT INTO table_name (column1, column2,...)
VALUES (value1, value2,....)
so that you know your info is going to the right column on the table
I have a csv file that has 2 columns..."Name" and "Team" I would like to be able to have 2 dropdown menus on a webpage showing both of these and a method (a post I guess) to change which team they are a member off...For example Joe is in Team 1 but moves to Team 2, from this page the user can change Joe to Team 2..
I would also like to be able to add new members and remove existing ones.
I've inherited some code that takes a MS Project File (.mpp), parses it into an Oracle database, and then pulls the info out of the database and displays it on a web page.
The data is all going into the database correctly except the calendar as defined by the user in MS Project uses a Fiscal Year calendar w/ Quarters starting 1-October. The web version of the Project File is displaying the start of the Fiscal Year as 1-January. Anyone know how to fix this?
I am using windows 2000 server IIS 5.0

Server.Execute "/nuggets/" & x & "/default.asp"

The executed file, default.asp, needs to be able to figure out what it's parent folder name is.
Request.ServerVariables("SCRIPT_NAME") only returns the name of the first initial page loaded, and nothing about the page currently being executed.

My boss wants me to develop this page so that users can click on a button alongside an employee's page and this will open up the company Expenses Claim Form with some of the fields automatically filled in, pulled from the same SQL database that the webpage gets its info from.
I have been looking this up for *weeks* now, but the only solutions I can see involve the dot net framework, 3rd-party plug-ins or installing the Microsoft ODBC driver for Excel. My boss will not accept any of these solutions, as we are a huge organisation and this has to work accross the entire system. We're stuck with MS Office 2002, Windows XP and SQL Server 2000.
So far the best I can manage is getting the Excel form to open (but without the fields filled in), which I accomplish using the following code:
I'd like to process an ASP page and pipe it's contents out to a file.
I can do this easily in PHP by using the php executable on the command line through a cron job(unix). Is there an equivalent for ASP? I see it as a less complicated cache.
So far I've only been able to output the actual script lines to a file. I want ASP to intrepret, then output.
Can anyone recommend how to do a screen scrape from a dynamic page and save it to a text file?

Right now I capture the time spent using javascript... I know i cannot write to a file using this. View Replies View RelatedI have set of mp3 files as a list (DownloadFiles.asp). The user can click on any of the mp3 files to download(Download_Porcess.asp).After downloading the file the user has to redirect to the DownloadFiles.asp.
For this i used:
response.contenttype="audio/mpeg3",
response.binarywrite("binarystreamofmp3file)
In Download_Process.asp to force the save dialog box. This works fine. This allows the user to download the file. After downloading this mp3 file, this file should not be displayed in the list ie in (DownloadFiles.asp).
How can i do this?
I am not able to redirect from Download_Process.asp to DownloadFiles.asp, b'coz I used response.binarywrite.

I have a folder on webserverwwwroot, called staticContent. The folder
has several message of the day text files, such as RepMotd.text. I have
an admin page, AdminMotd.aspx, that allows a user to view and edit the
contents of the files.
Webserver is running Win Server 2003 64-bit and IIS 6.0. The development
machine is Win XP, using Visual Studio 2005 (thus ASP.Net 2.0.)
In IIS, staticContent folder has Write checked and execute permission is
set to Script Only . In NTSF, the folder grants full permissions to
Network System.
When I try to overwrite an existing file in staticContent, or try to
create a new file, I get a System.UnauthorizedAccessException. The
Application error log on webserver notes that the error is on the page
I am trying to run, that my user name is what I logged in as, that I am
authenticated, and that the thread account name is NT AUTHORITYNETWORK
SYSTEM. Elsewhere, I am able to read these same files and insert them
dynamically into the web page.
This is the code that I am trying to run in AdminMotd.aspx, cut down to
the basics. If it makes any difference, the code is run "in page" and
not as part of a separate code-behind file.

<script runat="server">
Protected Sub MotdChange(ByVal ThisFile As String, ByVal ThisText As
String)
Dim sw As StreamWriter = New StreamWriter(StaticRoot + ThisFile,
False)
sw.Write(ThisText)
sw.Close()
End Sub
Protected Sub RepMotdChange_Click(Byval sender As Object, ByVal e As
System.EventArgs)
MotdChange("RepMotd.text", RepMotdText.Text)
End Sub
</script>
<asp:Content ...>
<asp:TextBox ID="RepMotdText" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:Button ID="RepMotdChange" runat="server" />
</asp:Content>

I have traced that the error occurs when New StreamWriter is called,
rather than when actually trying to write to the file. Obviously I'm
missing something, but danged if I can find it.
I'm looking to display a page and then initiate the downloading of a file.
Basically trying to display a page that says the download will begin
shortly, and if it doesn't, click here. Like what you see at a number
sites.
I found code to initiate the download in a previous posting ("Force Download
fails when I select "Open" but works when I select "Save"", posted Jan 25,
2005). The code works fine in terms of initiating the download. The
problem I've encountered is that the download begins before the page itself
is displayed.
My company needs an online form that user's can enter information into and once submitted, will dump the user-supplied info into a csv file and email it to the person who heads up the project. Initially, I thought they wanted the form to save the data to a database, and after playing all weekend, I was able to do that. Today I learned that they prefer the emailing a csv file method instead. Any links to tutorials on this subject or sample code with explanation would be greatly appreciated!
View Replies View RelatedBasically, I want to have an asp page that has a button where when you click on it, it opens up a file open dialog box where you can search for any excel file you want to import. Then, once a file is selected, I want to read all the contents of the excel file (from column A) to display into a listbox on the screen (so that each individual row from excel file would be a separate item in the listbox). Also, this data would have to be inserted accordingly into an access database .....
