Add JPanels To ArrayList To Form Grid Like 2D Array

i am to add jpanels to an arraylist such that it forms a grid like a 2d array. when i add the first colunm and have to iterate and store the next sequence of jpanels it still stores it in get(0), instead of get(1).
I am attempting to make a 5x5 bingo board. My array generates 75 numbers(15 per bingo letter) and displays them in a random order. What I am having trouble figuring out is how to fill the 5x5 grid with 25 numbers from my array. And yes, my code is probably much longer and much more redundant than it needs to be. Also, I think I'm using cells and grids terribly wrong (possibly the entire java language) but I'm not sure.
I'm using JavaKara (a graphic Java software to learn coding) on my classes at the moment and we're asked to transform something like this:
In the inverse, where you can see clovers there must not be any and where there aren't you must plant them. PLUS YOU MUST SWITCH THE FIGURE HORIZONTALLY.

How to switch everything horizontally!

My ultimate question is, how do i have to edit the second loop, and why, to obtain the horizontally reversed result i'm supposed to obtain?
What would be a good and simple algorithm to find the shortest route between two points in a 2D array[grid] ? There can be certain obstacles in the grid i.e. some of the cells may be inaccessible. I tried googling for it and found that A* is the best for this but I am just a beginner and would like to start with something much simpler.
I want to know how can I make a JPanel slide to to another JPanel (Slowly move to the next). I've made multiple JPanels so when I click on next it will take me to the next panel. Now I just need to add a nice transition to make my program look nicer. Is there an easy way to do it? or any way is fine I just want to add a transition ....
The program i am creating consists of two JPanels (currently) and one canvas. The canvas is in the center of the JFrame, while flanked by JPanels where both have 13 buttons each.
To paint a simple picture, my program will draw letters on the middle canvas when a button is clicked.
I created my own buttons that implement the ActionListener interface , so when a button is clicked it will display its character in the console. But my question is, How do you implement the listener to draw something on the Canvas when the button's are clicked?

I am working on writing a desktop based email client using swing. First some specifics: I need to show emails in a (dynamically updatable) vertical list. Each item in this vertical list would represent an email showing: (a) the subject, (b) a photo of the sender that I have locally available & a couple of buttons. So, I plan to create a JPanel containing a JLabel to show the Subject, The photo inside a JLabel & JButtons. I have the layout of this panel done and is not a problem.
My problem is with stacking all these JPanels (each representing an email) and showing them on the UI as a list. I am not sure of any way to do this. Moreover, when a new email is received, it has to be displayed at the top of the list (not at the bottom).
Specifically, I need a good way of displaying a vertical list of JPanels & be able to add new JPanels at the top of the list.
I have a form containing several fields, 2 of which persist to different table in a database than the rest of the fields on the form. I have no problem persisting the data into both tables of the database, and after the form is submitted I reset the form to its default values. That all works fine.
But in the same session, when I open another form (a search form) and enter search criteria, which then displays a datatable containing the search results, those 2 values that are persisted to another table are not showing up, but the rest of the data is.
Here is the method that calls the persist methods:

The values do show up, but the problem is, when a subsequent form is opened in the same session (e.g. a search form) the field for that value shows the actual value, instead of the field being blank.'
I am not sure why the data from the one database ("parent") is showing up, yet the data from the other database ("child") is not.
Is it something I am doing wrong? I thought by setting the setter in the child controller class back to a new instance of the Entity class (PolicyPayment) that it would reset the form to default values, but at the same time retain (or save) the inputted values in the same session.
I have a button on UI which adds messages and when the user clicks on it the form gets submitted, meanwhile the user is clicking on refresh(F5) multiple times which is causing the same message to be displayed multiple times. To resolve this , I am converting the form from a synchronous submit to Asychronous but it is still not working. Below is the code:
I have two classes involved in this portion. CheckIn_Search
(class #1) is my main UI and I am collecting search information from the user in a jPanel form. When they click "Search" it passes the search criteria to a method that contacts a web service and gets the results. These results are passed to coSearchResults
(class #2) that opens a jFrame and jTable (in modal format, over the main window created by CheckIn_Search.
The user selects a row in the table and that selection data is passed back to coSearchResults to populate a new jPanel form. When the data is passed from coSearchResults, I want to close its window, hide the first jPanel in CheckIn_Search and make the second jPanel visible. To accomplish this, I created a method in CheckIn_Search that simply hides/shows the panels (it will do more later).
I instantiate and call the method in CoSearchResults as part of the button click event. The problem is, it doesn't work. The panels are unaffected and there are no errors. I've put in break-points and it goes into the method.. Here is the coSearch_Results code.
Here is am retrieving the jtable row id and using the first value in the row to get the data from the table model as there is more data than what is displayed in the table. I'm sending that whole row of data to the method that changes visibility.

Write a class named GroceryList that represents a list of items to buy from the market, and another class named GroceryItemOrder that represents a request to purchase a particular item in a given quantity (example: four boxes of cookies). The GroceryList class should use an array field to store the grocery items and to keep track of its size (number of items in the list so far). Assume that a grocery list will have no more than 10 items. A GroceryList object should have the following methods:

The problem is that only the first matrix sums[0] is copied to the 2d arraylist sums.length times. How is is possible to store all the different sums matrices to the arraylist??
So I'm trying to write a method which returns the number of vowel characters in arraylist. My idea is to convert the arraylist element by element to array each time iterating through the array counting the vowels of that element. When I started I immediately got an error(surprise, surprise). Excuse me if the problem is too simple, but I am very new to programming.
At line 9 I get the following error "Type mismatch: cannot convert from String to int". I want to get the element at this position, not to convert to int..

It wont let me copy it into a array is there any solution to this.
I have a text file which contains to integer values I need to retrieve for each item (total of 56 items in the file). One is an item number, the other the weight ("Item: " + number + "Weight: " + weight). I am trying to build an array list that will add each set of data to it. I know that when I add the item array to the arraylist it is storing the array variable and not its contents, so is there a way to easily copy that data array to the array list?
I need to create a program that uses ArrayList to store integers the user inputs, then scan the array for the largest number. I would also like the user to be able to exit this loop if the number 0 is entered.

I'm trying to build a monopoly like game, and atm I'm trying to find way how to build the Community and Chance chest cards. so far, my logic is
1-create an ArrayList of cards with a given order
2-for a given number of times(for loop) generate 2 random numbers ,which will be the parameters for Collection.swap().
3-swap.

For now things seem to work pretty ok, but I'm wondering if this is a good and efficient way to shuffle a card chest especially in case of large number of cards. plus, I'm not sure what would be a good loop count for effective shuffling, in my case I used i<arraylist.size
