if I move object A to one area of the screen I want object B to to move to object A's location but I also want object B to move at a fixed speed (movement variable). How do I go about doing this? Both the x and y coordinates of object B would need to know the coordinates of object A to calculate the distance between the two and to determine how much of which axis to increment/decrement (if that makes sense?) with the inclusion of the speed variable.In other words I'm just trying to create a homing object.

So i'm using Netbeans and have created this template for the program i want to create. Basically what I want to do is enter a time and date in 24hr format including seconds and the date of start and end time and have the program calculate the time difference between Tool launch and tool Receive that takes into factor the Launch and Receive Dates for a total of hh:mm:ss duration. I don't know how to combine both those factors output one number in a total number of hours Duration. I'm also having problems linking the ODO (odometer) which the formula would basically be time/ODO (or distance in feet) = x.x ft/sec format.

Moving Object In Y Axis

I just have one problem with a "car" program in java. The objective is to move the car in the direction it is facing. Moving forward in the normal position (when the angle is zero) means moving in the x-axis. Choosing to turn the car function (for example: 90 ) and then using the forward function should move up or down the car in the y-axis. However the y-axis is not working.

Add Color To Ball In Pong - Speed Up When Contact Made With Paddle

I wrote a code from our text book for Pong. Im trying to figure out how to fill the ball with color. Im also wondering how to speed the ball up once there is contact with the paddle. The initial speed is ok but once contact is made with the paddle, it slows down. Makes it too easy to play. Here is my code so far. As far as the game goes, it works and is good. Vector Math - Calculate Equation Of A Plane That Would Rely On All Axis

I am running into some trouble with Line-Plane intersection, my method works, provided I am perpendicular to the plane I want to intersect. This is caused be the plane equation (with my given x, y, and z coordinates, the equation is -Z - 1 = 0). So the equation is only relying on the Z value of anything inputted. Is there another way to calculate the equation of a plane that would rely on all axis? Here is my current code:

JavaFX 2.0 :: BarChart Axis Tick-labels Missing With JDK1.8

Currently I try to integrate a JavaFX BarChart into my existing Java application. Therefore I need a BufferedImage of my BarChart, so that I can render that snapshot on a Graphics instance.
 
I adapted the existing BarChartSample.java (Chart Sample | JavaFX Tutorials and Documentation) and removed all animations. The code itselfs works fine but I identified one problem -> my TickLabels are missing
 
The TickLabels are visible If I use JDK 1.7u51 but if I change to JDK 1.8u05.... than the stlye of my BarChart will be changed and my tick labels are not visible.
 
Did I missed something or is that a bug?

Increment Counter By Recursion

I have a question related to the code below, that I do not understand. The aim is to count all files and subdirectories in an ArrayList full of files and subdirectories. So I have to count every file and every subdirectory.

The code concerning counting files is clear to me - every time d is of the type file I have to increment n by one. However I thought that I have to do the same thing in case d is a directory, so I would have written the same code for directories.

So what does "n += ((Directory) d).countAllFiles();" mean? In my understanding the method countAllFiles() is applied again on the object Directory ( as Directory is the class that contains this method), but how is n incremented by this? I thought n should be incremented by one as we did with files.
