I can't get Relative paths to work. I have created the class.dat file and I can't get java to recognize it. I am using Eclipse as an IDE. Was wondering if I could get Eclipse to recognize it. I tried with a .txt file as well and couldn't get that to work.
import java.io.*;
public class ReadBytes
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{
try
{
FileInputStream file = new FileInputStream("class.dat");
I am developing an web application with servlets and jsp. I have an issue to store images. I am storing images in folder and their relative path's in mysql database.
When I retrieve path from database then using <IMG> tag i have displayed image like:
Batch file (. BAT) problems with some folders on. I created an application in Java and put the JRE folder within the application, because some users do not have Java installed on your machine and the way I did, my application runs. JAR with the JRE that is contained in my application but I created a BAT file that contains the following command:
start "" jre8 bin javaw-jar app.jar
So I run my program in java through the file. BAT calling JRE that is inside the folder and then this JRE runs the mine. JAR and works great anywhere in windows, worked well on a USB key with this command is within. BAT (start "" jre8 bin javaw-jar app.jar).
BAT in certain folders, eg Program Files and Program Files (x86), I need this code to be able to find any directory, regardless of whether the directory has spaces in the name, symbols, numbers or anything else, because maybe people will put the application folder to another location or rename the folder, and if this happens the program will stop working? And especially do not give problems to run inside the Program Files and Program Files (x86) because the application runs everywhere except in these two folders.
All I want to do is load an image into a swing JLabel and display it, but I'm going to have to make a JAR of the program and submit it for grading, so I need to be able to get the path of the image file relative to the JAR (at least I think that's how it works - I've never made a JAR before. Right now I'm just trying to load it from a path relative to my netbeans project). I've tried at least 20 different combinations of paths, file locations within the project, etc., but nothing works.
Anyways, here's the test class I've been using to try to figure this out in its current iteration. Right now the image I want to load is in src/resources and the class is in
src/imagedisplaytest package imagedisplaytest; import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; public class ImageDisplayTest extends JFrame { private JLabel testLabel; public ImageDisplayTest()
I done a small application with Javafx that start an Embedded Jetty. All works fine in Windows also with native package. Instead in Mac it works only before native packaging. Seems that the problem is how relative path are considered.
The tree of the content is this: myfile.jar webapp (folder) libs (folder)
Look at this code:
String webAppDir = "webapp"; File f = new File(webAppDir); log.debug("Path webapp folder: " + f.getAbsolutePath()); if (!f.exists()) throw new Exception("The folder " + f.getAbsolutePath() + " doesn't exist");
[Code] ....
The problem is that before the packaging in Mac the relative path is that where the main .jar is located an so the code works because the webapp folder is found. Instead after the bundle the path became /Users/MyUser/webapp and of course the folder is not found because it is bundled inside the file.app near the libs folder.
I know what the tree data structure is, how it works, etc., but I need to design a method that will sequentially print out all the paths in the tree (i.e. for each node).
The pseudocode I was thinking of doing was something along the lines of:
paths if(root.getData() = null) return paths; path = ?; // absolutely no clue what to do here paths += root.getData() + " " + path + " "; if(root.hasLeftChild()) { newPath += "0"; paths += begin recursion; } if(root.hasRightChild()) { newPath += "1"; paths += begin recursion; } return paths;
Problems:
(1) I don't know how to determine "path" before the left and right children check (the root node's path is "", the first left node's path is "0", the first right node's path is "1", pattern continues with left being "0" and right being "1"). (2) I don't know where to put newlines precisely. (3) I'm not sure how to get the print layout precisely as it is supposed to be. At most I've been able to just get the last number in the sequence (i.e. if it was supposed to be "1000", I could get "0".
I am working with the pseudocode formulation, especially in regards to the logic and formatting. I think once I have an understanding of what is going on, I can solve it. And yes, I've gone through a couple pseudocode rewrites (a few hours worth) and haven't gotten anywhere which is slightly unnerving.
I'm currently making a Breakout clone to learn about different ways of organizing my code and whatnot but I've run into a problem with the positioning of some pieces versus the position of the mouse.
I've created a blue rectangle on the screen that turns white when the mouse hovers over it, BUT it actually only ends up turning white about halfway down and then continues on off the block. I moved the rectangle to 0,0 to see where it draws and it looks like it is drawing to the very top left corner of the window itself but for the mouse coordinates, the top left is just where the black area is and excludes the borders of the window.
Here is the class rendering the rectangle, it extends from a class that in turn extends from the JPanel class:
public class MainMenuState extends MenuState { JFrame gameFrame; Graphics2D g; // PlayButton variables int playPosX = 0; int playPosY = 0; int playWidth = 100; int playHeight = 50;
[Code] ....
A few other things I tried that I can think off the top of my head: Play around with different layouts (at times this caused the screen to shrink to a small size as well as using pack()), using setSize() setLocation() or setBorder() in the MainMenuState class which had no effect.
Someone on another forum also suggested trying to utilize component.getLocationOnScreen(): I tried two things with the getXOnScreen method, first subtracting with the location of the JPanel which of course gave me the same problem. After that I tried
When I assign a classpath-relative URL to an ImageView's 'Image' property, SceneBuilder is unable to display the Image in the Preview. It shows the text "Image not found" instead as a placeholder, which makes sense. What I'd like to do is add a classpath entry to SceneBuilder such that it is able to locate and display the Images. Any way to accomplish this (or similar)?
So I downloaded jgrasp and eclipse on a new computer and am trying to figure out how their filing/path system works.In eclipse I created a new project under which I've imported all my files for my comp sci class, so they're all under this one project which is my only project. I attached a pic of what my eclipse workspace looks like. In this project folder is a file I'm trying to run.
I keep getting an error saying "editor" does not contain a main type.When I change my class name to the project folder I end up getting an option to run the program as an applet or an application, but either one I choose I get the same error message. In the bottom it gives me a warning saying

I tried running the program in jgrasp and got this error

I have the JDK installed in program files, I have the correct versions of eclipse and Jgrasp, and have uninstalled / reinstalled the JDK/Jgrasp/Eclipse so I don't know what the problem is?
I am trying to make a GUI that allows the user to input the NumberLink puzzle (through mouse action events), and then, displays the puzzle in a grid with features to draw a path, and undo it. This is almost exactly the same functionality as in Numberlink on Nikoli
1. In my project, I have a Stage in which a setup scene prompts user for rows and columns (to take size of puzzle),
2. Then, it generates an empty grid (I'm thinking of using a GridPane here), and the user clicks the squares to enter the numbers into the square. this phase isnt a problem if I use text fields and mouse listeners and store info in a grid... the next phase is what I'm stuck at... unless I know exactly how to do that, I cant make progress...
3. In the third stage, I have to display the numbers to the user just like on the Nikoli site (the highlighting number pairs on mouse hover is a necessary feature too, which I think I can handle with CSS).. and the user should draw paths between the numbers, just as on that site ( I thought VLineTo and HLineTo classes would be suitable.. but I'm not sure, and cant find any alternatives) .....
So with this in mind, I made FXML based dummy gui layouts to test if my ideas work... And I cant get the GridPane to have lines drawing atop it (meaning, I cant place Line objects like HLine on top of the grid panes).... is there any other way to do what I need to do ? I also thought of making canvases in a grid (each square is its own canvas)
How I can implement a user inputted path drawing ??
Is it possible to find the number of paths between two nodes in a directed graph using an adjacency matrix? I know how to find all said paths of a given length by using matrix exponentiation, but I don't know how to find all the paths. The professor didn't note it in the assignment but I assume she meant all simple paths because this is a cyclic graph, so there's a potentially infinite number of paths.
I'm thinking I should use matrix exponentiation to find the number of paths of lengths 1 to n-1, where n is the number of nodes in the graph. Then add the number of paths for each length together. Would this work?
I've been pondering about this algorithm for about a week but I'm still not able to write a "fast" working method/algorithm to solve the Number-of-paths-exercise we were given in my class />
So here's the task: Write an efficient java program "Paths" which solves the following task:
- Read input n ∈ N and give output a(n) which is the number of paths from (0,0) to (n,0) it is not allowed to go over the diagonal (m,m) and also not below the x-axis (m,0)
Here are the allowed steps: u = (1,1), U = (1,4), d = (1,−1), D = (1,−4) and H = (1,0) steps are performed in a two-dimensional-coordinate-system!
We have Starting point that is (3,0) and an ending point is (1,3). We can only move up and right to get to the ending point by using recursion. We have to list all possible paths from (3,0) to (1,3)
We have Starting point that is (3,0) and an ending point is (1,3). We can only move up and right to get to the ending point by using recursion. We have to list all possible paths from (3,0) to (1,3)
I was able to get from (3,0) to (1,3) but how to list the other paths. This is my code so far
public class Program7 { public static void main(String[] args){ int size = 5; int x1 = 3; int y1 = 0; int x2 = 1; int y2 = 3; System.out.println(x1+" "+y1); System.out.println(x2+" "+y2);
But for the method get() of Paths, I get this error in eclipse.The method get(String, String[]) in the type Paths is not applicable for the argument..Yet on the Oracle documentation site, it uses a similar example:
I use git as my SCM and I use both Ubuntu and Mac OSX. The home directory of the two operating systems are different and there lies the problem. When I commit the .classpath to version control, it looks something like this:
Now when I update my project on Ubuntu. I have to change the build path again because it is referencing paths on OSX. And this goes back and forth. Rather than remove this file from git with .gitignore, I'd prefer to use a global environment variable like as follows:
Is there some way to create compound shapes/paths in JavaFX?
For the record I'm not implying the use of the methods intersect, subtract, or union. These produce other shapes. A compound shape/path is one that has a knockout of some sort. For instance, a circle within a circle, such as in a 2d donut shape. Alternatives do not include a circle with a thick stroke nor an overlayed circle with the background color. Specifically, JavaFX supports the FillRule, in the case of the Path object. However, there doesn't appear to be an "add" method as there was in the Area shape in Swing.
I am copying the xml files from one folder to other folder, in the source folder, i have some files which have some content like "backing File="$IDP_ ROOT/metadata/iPAU-SP-metadata.xml" but while writing to the destination folder.i am replacing the "$IDP_ROOT" with my current working directory. The entire copying of files is for deploying into tomcat server. The copying is done only when server starts for the first time.Problem: If i change the folder name from my root path in my machine after i run the server,the entire process will be stopped because the destination folder files already contains the content which is with existed files names or folder names.
So i want to change it to relative path instead absolute path. What is the best way to do it? Please look at code below:
[ // Getting the current working directory String currentdir = new File(".").getAbsoluteFile().getParent() + File.separator;
The problem is as follows: I've been running java script using git bash and at one point it tells me that I need to increase heap size because apparently it takes more than 1gb to run. However although I manually increase it via control panel>programs>java nothing changes. I've been told that I need to ' figure out how to use 64bit java (and a VM that supports 64bit) in order to increase the maximum memory allocation (heap size) to something north of 2g.'
My laptop has 8GB worth of RAM (Windows 7)so it shouldn't technically have problems running anything above 1G. But there is apparently a 1GB wall But increasing the heap size to above 2G results in an error stating that VM doesn't initialize within git bash, I thought that my java is 32 bit so I downloaded a 64 bit java. Now how and if it is even possible to allocate a program to run under 64 bit java and if I should delete the other java version.
1) Instead of showing 0K 5K 10K, I would like to show the country names (A - D), with no number or tick. I figured out this one by just commenting out all the codes relating to ticks.
2) Place the country names in the center of the arch. I don't know how to do this one.
