Where can I learn or how can I, being the most efficient way known to do so, create a folder outside my JAR file with the java source code, this then will copy YAML documents from my JAR file to that folder, then I need to read the YAML documents some way. I'm making an addon for a game, I am using an API that allows you to make a config.yml easily, and add and read entries from it, but I've read that I need to make my own methods to be able to create additional YAML documents.
I don't exactly know what to type in google to perhaps find such a page, but I did try to find a tutorial page about this or something and couldn't.
I've partially figured out how to create a folder, but I have a problem, how can I RETURN one directory to make the folder, I don't want to make the folder in the JAR file I want to make it just outside the Jar file in the same folder that the Jar file is at.
Means like in php we can install xampp and there for a new app we need to create a folder in htdocs folder...and after that , that folder works like a app.
I am attempting to maintain separate files for different types of "messages" (user messages, field labels/buttons, data values). In this attempt I am trying to get the description of different data values. For example, a UserStatus "A" might be displayed as Active or Activo.
Here are the relevant entries in the values_en_us.properties file:
user.status.A = Active user.status.I = Inactive user.status.P = Pending
I would like to build an Enum for each type of value that I can get the localized value from. In the code below, I have hardcoded the values being passed to the get message to reduce the number of variables when trying to debug this.
org.springframework.context.NoSuchMessageException: No message found under code 'user.status.A' for locale 'en_us'.
On this line of code:
description = appCtx.getMessage("user.status.A", null, new Locale("en_us"));
The application is already showing my custom application error messages I have in the messages localized files, but in that case the ApplicationContext is already available. Because I can get to the contents of the messages_en_us.property files, I'm assuming me config is correct. However, the classes that get the messages content are instantiated by Spring.
The Enums are not created by Spring, so my assumption is that I am doing something wrong in how I am getting a handle on the ApplicationContext or how I am using it.
After looking at the appCtx values in debug mode, I can see that the messageSource > basenames does at least contain my configuration data.
i have to save some particular info of a pdf file info into a database.there are lots of folders with tons of pdf files to be analized and then getting that info saved. make the process incremental? i need the program to stop at some point. and then continue to analize the resting files in the folders (i dont want the program to start all over again from 0 )my ideas are..sorting all the files using apache commons sort (by date) method (iv seen it somewhere) and saving the last file analized in the dabatase to then continue. OR just adding some extra character to the pdf file name that has been analized like for example xx-xxx.pdf to xx-xxxa.pdf.
I am currently using the following Rally API Java code(below...in Java 1.7) to create an object and attach a file to it. This code works fine. But I need the code to be a little less specific and attach all files located under a folder (not just one file). How could one potentially rewrite this code (or use a different constructor/method) to accommodate such a thing? Also additional code how to narrow down results to all files with a creation date >= today.
I want to clarify it whether this below code, when running this loop, will it create separate string objects as strings are immutable or else, will it keep the same reference(as each time inside loop, we use the same name 'rslt') and assign new string value for this?
I was doing coding exercise from a book ('OCP Java SE 6 - Practice Exams' by Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates). I came to a question that told to demonstrate the difference between 'default' and 'protected' access rules by creating/making a directory structure and putting a couple of classes in different packages.
For this, I made a total of four classes, out of which, three classes are-Car, TestingCars, CarDimensions. (The fourth is not yet used in testing code till now, so, I am giving only the other three classes.) Their coding is given below.
Out of these classes, the classes- TestingCars and Car - are in a directory (say, FolderName). And, the class- CarDimensions is in FolderName's sub-folder.
The class 'CarDimensions' is public (and its components too are public). And, I am testing all the classes from the class- 'TestingCars'. But, this class (TestingCars) is not able to find the public class- 'CarDimensions' which is in its sub-folder and gives two 'Cannot find symbol' errors citing the class-CarDimensions. Also, If all three classes are put in one single directory, the programs work, without any error.
Coding: Class TestingCars:class TestingCars { public static void main(String[] args) { Car c = new Car(); c.setType("FourWheeler");
[Code]....
I could not find why the public class- CarDimensions- is not getting found by the TestingCars class.
I'm currently new to java and I would just like to ask if Socket is sufficient for this file transfer app I'm planning to work on.
The specs are as follows:
~ Move/Copy Files of selected folder/s to a single folder(consolidating them) within the same machine and Network ~ File type will be specified on GUI and those specified will be the ones transferred ~ option to choose Move or Copy of files ~ ability to create/select folder of transfer destination
I've been into java for about 4 months now, No complaints so far, it's pretty awesome! So I understand Polymophism pretty good, I did some Animal classes and it worked out neatly.
However. I just can't seem to find my way in OOP when trying to implement in on a Calculator Class I wrote. As you mind know, a calculator can be separated into many classes. But I actually just want it to be separated into some OO like: | Calculator | CalcGUI | CalculatorFunctions | CalcRun.
I tried separating the single Calculator class, however, my calculator Buttons didn't work after that, anymore..
Within my program I allow users to write their own code to be executed. I then save that code in a .java file and then compile. This gives me a .java file and a .class file within the same package in the src folder. However, the compilation process also creates a .class file in the build folder. When the user edits their code and then re-runs it, the .class file in the build folder does not get updated with the new data, but the .class in the src folder does.
What I want to do is to execute the .class file in the src folder and not the build folder. So far I have the following method, but that somehow refers to the .class file in the build folder:
public void runMethod(String packageFilePath, String className){ try{ URI fileURI = new URI("file:/src/uk/learningAid/UserInputs/"); URL url = fileURI.toURL(); URL[] urls = new URL[]{url};
I am trying to create a GUI interface in swing which consists of four classes: a GUI class, which creates a main JPanel, a label, and a JList, which it takes from the second class, a MovesList class that contains a JList and the stuff needed to interface with it. It also has a main class, which basically just creates an object of the GUI class for the main window, and an Other class from which I would like to be able to add an item to the JList. I created methods in the MovesList class to get each component (like getMoveslist, or getMovesListScrollPane), which I then used to create the JList in the GUI class. I also created an addMove method so that I can add an item to the JList from any class through a MovesList object. However, this addMove method only works when called from the GUI or MovesList classes -- it does nothing when I collect from the Other class.
Here is my code:
//Main class public class TestProject { public static void main(String[] args) { GUI mainWindow = new GUI(); mainWindow.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
[Code] ....
When I run this code, I get a window with a JLabel that says "Moves," and a JList that contains five elements -- test 1-test 5, but not a sixth "test from other class." ( using the add move method ) However, when I click on the window, the addMove method is also called, and successfully adds "test 6" to the list.
I've used Netbeans IDE to create a simple Swing JFrame container, class NewJFrame.
NewJFrame calls another JFrame with dialog in it. Problem is there is an endless call made to it. Here's the issue relevant piece of code:
//Code for calling class package p; public class NewJFrame extends javax.swing.JFrame implements ActionListener { ......... public NewJFrame() { initComponents(); //IDE auto generated code for binding
[Code] ....
I searched but i cannot understand why run class is getting called multiple times. I have attached the screen prints for both the screens. 2nd screen print(of called class) is very shallow since screen was blinking unstopped due to multiple calls, but i have attached a faint image of it.
In the class below I'm trying to create a class that will accept dates in various formats and create a range. The first constructor is easy because I send it the begin date and end date as Date objects. Now I want to send a month(and year) in a constructor and derive the begin and end dates from it. In my constructor that accepts the month/year I need to put the this(startDate, endDate) at the top to be allowed, but the parameters are not built yet.
package com.scg.athrowaway; import java.util.Calendar; import java.util.Date; public class DateRange { private Date startDate; private Date endDate;
I was just wondering how would I create a jar file that would open 3 other jar files when I open the jar file with my batch file it and when I type stop in the batch file it will out put the stop command into all 3 of the other jar files.
This is for my Minecraft server so I can launch them all at the same time and inStead of having to enter the commands in all the server batch files I just have to do the command in 1 I know their is things like multi craft to do this but I want the code so I don't have to use multicraft.
