I have a text file with the below details and we get the input as name CONNECTION_PORT and we need to delete the matching global variable which as CONNECTION_PORT and keep the remaining global variable in file without using any temp files.

I have created an application using hibernate and struts.In which a form is created where the user will enter all its personal details(for e.g name ,phone no. and address).
Here for address I have used textarea and whenever user enters the address, sometimes it can be a long string also.
So the problem is if a long string is entered then while displaying that ,address comes on single line and the page is stretched.
how to break this single string into mutiple lines in java class?
I have a method that checks to see if a file exists, if so, it reads the data contained therein, if not it calls another method then exits.

Memory recalled from a long ago taken c++ class: It's just reserving a memory location that will or will not be used isn't it? If nothing is stored in that location the reservation goes away right?

What I wanted to do is that every time I press the button that will activate this part of the code, it will write to a .txt file defined in my txtDestination var (a JTextField). After the first time the file was created, it must append a new line every succeeding presses. However, everytime I do this, it just simply overwrites the contents of the .txt file. The example output would have been like this:

I am trying to update and delete products from a JSP page but am having a hard time getting the code to work. I keep getting errors and my program won't run. My Index.jsp page works, but everything else is messed up. Below is my code.

This is the code that i have used to delete particular String from text file. It works absolutely fine on eclipse and netbeans.. But on deployment(in tomcat) it fails to delete message/rename or delete original file even though all permissions for modifying the files in the folder has been given to all users.
Me and my mate are struggling to get our code to split a line in a text file which are separated by (":") and store into an array. We've managed to split each individual line into an array, but cannot work out how to do it with multiple splits over one line.

I'm trying to read a xml file and delete it's contents. I do this by reading the file,writing it to a temp and then overwriting the original with the temp by renaming it

It does say the value of the local variable is not used however. I've debugged to ensure it hits the code it always prints out the line after too.It just does not overwrite my original xml file with the temp one.

I am trying to write a code to remove comment lines from the input java file.

Logic her eis when user selects option1, it asks for user to enter name and as soon as user enters name, it should compar name to existing names in txt file. I have user while loop and for loop but for some reason, it doesnt compare properly as there seems to be some mistake in looping and it just read first line or you can say single line rather than comparing it with all lines in txt file. i have attached votes.txt file with this. Also, if user doesnt exists infile, it will ask user to enter vote as yes or no and add it to file and then count total number of Yes and No votes from file and compare them.

For example, if I had a text file with one line such as "first, second, third", would there be a way to make it so I could make "first" go to the first array list, "second" to the second, and "third" to the third?

I have a program that reads lines of text, but some of the lines of text aren't applicable and break the program. I'd like to put a letter in front of the lines in the .txt file I want to use, such as a #.
I need to make an if loop that'll check for the first letter on the line being #, and use the line in the program if true and skip if false. I'm guessing a boolean variable would be useful here to be true or false depending on the presence of #, but I don't know how to only read the first letter of each line, how can I do this?

Why don't the a's show up on the console? I put them in as part of the debugging process and now I don't understand why they don't show up in both places.
I have recently start learning about objects and classes in java. I understand that in order to use multiple classes in one file you need one class to be public and the rest are private. But after that I don't understand how to invoke the private class in the public class. I thought if I tried programming on my own I can have a better understanding of it, but had no success.
There are multiple .CSV files (each file has multiple rows and columns). I need to fetch data from all the files and find MEDIAN of the values for each column and do further calculations. Suppose there are 3 files, i need to find the MEDIAN of column 1 in file1, MEDIAN of column 1 in file2, MEDIAN of column 1 in file3. Below code just fetch data from one file.
The following script is a multiple file renaming script. Once this script completes the renaming of multiple files the script then deselects all of the files it renames.
Any kind of jscript code that can allow this script to keep the renamed files highlighted after the renaming process is complete?
