I'm doing a exercise for dragging mouse to draw a line. I found a code to do this, but I don't know something in the code. example array Shape in the code.
This is what he wants: He wants us to prompt the user to input x values and y values (that will be entered into an array when clicking one of the two buttons (this one will say: Add point)). When they click the second button (draw lines), it should take all the points and draw a line that connects all the points together using a method that we write. In the method we have to call the paint method up which the lines will be drawn. The lines drawn should be touching every point added. It shouldn't have parameters. It will also use Graphics painter = getGraphics(); We can't use frames either.
I have everything up until the method understood.
How to write a method that will draw a line from points inputted that is called up in the action listener when the second button (draw lines) is pressed.
I am trying to drag the window down wards and screen has alignment issues. I tried to use WindowListeners, Component Listeners, MouseListeners ect…
But still this problem persists as only I release the mouse after drag down it appears fine that we have handled ComponentResized() method. So how to restrict component size while keep dragging down?
How to drag an image beyond the JFrame limits. In Netbeans, when you drag a Java file editor pane out of the main application frame and onto a second monitor, Netbeans provides a semi-transparent image of the pane you're dragging. I would like to reproduce this effect in my own code. I've been able to do this in a test program (code below) using a glass pane, but cannot figure out a good way to get the image to drag beyond the limits of the main application frame. I looked at the DragnGhostDemo from SwingHacks but it has the same limitation. How this could be accomplished?
In the test application below, click on on the button and drag it's image across the application frame.
I have wrote this class who read from text line by line and save the words in fileOnTable.. Now i don't know what to read in ReadOffer to save the words in object offers and return this.. One more question.. What JUnit test can write for this code..?
My requirement is to find the line number using multiline string. Here I need to extract the string between FROM and where clause(from the below string) and need to find the line number in the file
SELECT HL.LOCATION_ID,HPS.PARTY_SITE_ID,HCAS.CUST_ACCT_SITE_ID INTO LN_SITE_LOCATION_ID,LN_LOC_PARTY_SITE_ID,LN_CUST_ACCT_SITE_ID FROM HZ_LOCATIONS HL, HZ_PARTY_SITES HPS,
How do I make the file reader object move to the next line if there is no more input on the line. Here is my text and output file as you can see that my text file column cuts off on the 2nd line after 70. I want to read that next line which is 100 into my labs variable however its reading it into my final exams variable. I'll also post the code but I didn't think it was necessary.
textfile: 100908095 1008070 10070
output: Labs Projects Tests Final Exams 100908095 1008070100 70
[import java.util.Scanner; import java.io.*; public class MyGrades { public static void main (String[] args) throws IOException { int lab, project, test; int finalExam;//Par and Player values
If I want to read my file line by line and when it hits a certain value from that point it should start deleting the lines until the tag ends.Just curious will my code actually work at the moment or not because it goes through so many times then goes straight back to the variable declarations at the start of the method and never hits the console print line.
public void removeEnvironment(){ //declare variable to environment id String environmentID = "Environment id"; String lines = null; boolean lineFound = false; boolean end = false;
I'm creating a program that searches a txt file for a given string, then return the number line and the line itself. However, my testFile class isn't detecting my searchWord methods.
The searchWord and recursiveSearch is written in a java class called BasicFile
public List<String> searchWord(String key) throws Exception { LineNumberReader lnr = new LineNumberReader(new FileReader(f)); return recursiveSearch(lnr.readLine(), key, lnr); } public List<String> recursiveSearch(String currentLineText, String key, LineNumberReader lnr)
[code]....
Is it because I'm using a list instead of a string?
I'm doing an assignment for uni and have come across a small hiccup. What I'm trying to do is scan in a text file and read "commands" for it line by line, E.g:
Student Mary 12345 19 Student Joe 12346 19 Change Joe 19 20 Change Mary 19 20
So that lines that begin with the word "Student" indicate that I should create a new student file with that name, student ID, and age.
"Change" indicates that I should be changing the specified student's current age to the new age etc.
What I'm currently doing is something along the lines of this:
Scanner input = new Scanner(new FileReader(args[0])); String[] line; while (input.nextLine().startsWith("Student")) { line = input.nextLine().split("s+");
[Code] ....
The problem I'm having is that every second line seems to be getting skipped (because I'm calling nextLine() so much?) but I can't think of a way to "peek" at the first word of each line without advancing past it. Is there any way of doing this?
I think the lines need to be stored in ArrayList, then I would like those lines to write to csv file, but how on read I can construct such output file? This is my code for reading file
public ArrayList readFile(String filename) { try {
01. pickup the selected text file and read the line by line and output the text in to visual text pane.
what i did:.
01. I wrote code that read the text file and output in to jave console/ also some of the interface.
the code read txt file:
Java Code:
String fileName = "C:/Users/lakshan/Desktop/lawyer.txt"; File textFile = new File(fileName); Scanner in = new Scanner (textFile); while(in.hasNextLine()){
[code]....
so it will read any text file dynamically and output to the text pane in interface. I think scanner code must be execute after the select the file from the browser and set the scanned result in to variable. then later out put the var as string in some jswing component?
I have a JPanel embedded in a JScrollPane. I draw in the JPanel, using the paint() method. I have to draw some shapes that can go far in the y direction, that's why I put my JPanel in a scroll pane, in order to scroll down to be able to discover the shapes down. But even though I put my JPanel in a JScrollPane, it soon blocks in the y direction and does not show the shapes far in the y direction.
Note: I used a GridBagConstraints which is correctly set, with its fill attribute etc.
So I also am working on this problem. My frame does print each new rectangle; however, it is printed each time from the top left corner, and the bottom right is where I click.
Here is my RectangleComponent:
import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.Rectangle; import java.awt.Shape; import java.util.ArrayList; import javax.swing.JComponent; public class RectangleComponent extends JComponent
So I drew a menu in DrawingPanel extends JPanel, that gets user input of number of players...etc. I also have a boolean, when true, the board is drawn, but apparently, right when I run, the boolean is checked, returns false and so board isn't drawn at all. When the user finishes input, the boolean becomes true, but the board doesn't get drawn. So my question is, how do I draw something not immediately when the program is ran?
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.awt.geom.*; public class Game extends JPanel implements ActionListener, KeyListener{ Timer t = new Timer(5,this); double x = 0, y = 0, velx = 0, vely = 0;
[Code] .....
So why doesn't it work and what about the second dot.... ?
I 'm trying to draw a button by resizing a simple button background image to fit the size of the text. Everything works well except for the actual drawing of the string. The y value that I give the Graphics object designates the baseline, however I would like to draw the the string above the y. So that the image below doesn't happen.
I gave the graphics object the y of the bottom of the "P" and would instead like to give it the value of the bottom of the "y". Is there a way to do that by reading the String's bounds or something, or is there a way to get the Graphics object to use the passed y value as the definite bottom of the String?
Isn't changing my backgrounds in my MouseAdapter I keep getting these errors:
at javax.swing.JComponent.processMouseEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Component.processEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Container.processEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Component.dispatchEventImpl(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Container.dispatchEventImpl(Unknown Source) at java.awt.Component.dispatchEvent(Unknown Source) at java.awt.LightweightDispatcher.retargetMouseEvent(Unknown Source)
I have been working on this mouse movement code that detects which direction the mouse moves in hope to use it in a game. The only problem is that I can not figure out how to make it move to the other side of the screen so I could continue turning to the right or left without having to stop. How would I actually get the x and y coordinants of the mouse to change?
PHP Code: if(x == xscreen){ //set x to 0 }else if(x == 0){ //set x to xscreen }else if(y == yscreen){ //set y to 0 }else if(y == 0){ //set y to yscreen } mh_sh_highlight_all('php');
The program i am creating consists of two JPanels (currently) and one canvas. The canvas is in the center of the JFrame, while flanked by JPanels where both have 13 buttons each.
To paint a simple picture, my program will draw letters on the middle canvas when a button is clicked.
I created my own buttons that implement the ActionListener interface , so when a button is clicked it will display its character in the console. But my question is, How do you implement the listener to draw something on the Canvas when the button's are clicked?
