I need to copy a file from Windows folder to unix folder using Java

The file is processed by a Java program and the file has to be written to Unix folder
I have the unix server name and folder name.

Where can I learn or how can I, being the most efficient way known to do so, create a folder outside my JAR file with the java source code, this then will copy YAML documents from my JAR file to that folder, then I need to read the YAML documents some way. I'm making an addon for a game, I am using an API that allows you to make a config.yml easily, and add and read entries from it, but I've read that I need to make my own methods to be able to create additional YAML documents.
I don't exactly know what to type in google to perhaps find such a page, but I did try to find a tutorial page about this or something and couldn't.
I've partially figured out how to create a folder, but I have a problem, how can I RETURN one directory to make the folder, I don't want to make the folder in the JAR file I want to make it just outside the Jar file in the same folder that the Jar file is at.
I have a entry in application.properties file
caption_bubble_value.title={0} is a caption for the element box
JSP File
<fmt:message key="caption_bubble_value.title" />
in the java file I am setting a parameter to session
request.getSession().setAttribute("replaceVal", "Value headline");
How can I get the text "Value headline is a caption for the element box" on the page?
The replacement should happen on an event.
Should I read a .txt file saved as a resource but JavaFX 2.2 doesn' t find the resource " myfile.txt " with the following statement:
new BufferedReader(new FileReader(ReadTextFile.class.getResource("prova.css").toExternalForm()));
How can I solve it?
I am creating a bukkit plugin, but my question has nothing to do with bukkit, just Java. I am trying to load a file that is located in the same folder as the jar file that is being run and I am having no luck. I can't set a manual path because if I move this plugin to a remote server it won't work. So how to get a file from the same folder as the jar.

In my java app there is a code which reads the properties file from src/main/resources folder.
Java Code:
@Component("mailerProperties")
public class MailerProperties {
private static Properties properties;
public MailerProperties() {
properties = new Properties();
[Code] ....
Now I need to create a jar file and also remove the properties file from src/main/resources folder and place it outside the jar file(in the same location as jar file) so that data inside it can be changed easily in future.
Question: Currently it uses ClassPathResource("mailer.properties") to read the prop file. What change I need to make to read it from outside the jar file...
I have uploaded file into specified folder.So I have to download it..
View Replies View RelatedI'm currently new to java and I would just like to ask if Socket is sufficient for this file transfer app I'm planning to work on.
The specs are as follows:
~ Move/Copy Files of selected folder/s to a single folder(consolidating them) within the same machine and Network
~ File type will be specified on GUI and those specified will be the ones transferred
~ option to choose Move or Copy of files
~ ability to create/select folder of transfer destination
Here is an draft of what the GUI will look like.

I'm getting an IllegalArgumentException returned when I try to get a file using guava library.
I previously had the function working when the file was in a different location, before I switched to running JBehave, my steps run but it fails to find the resource, even after I've moved it.
The code being executed is (this worked previously before using JBehave):
String xMLTemplateFileName = "OBOE-confirmation"
public static void setXMLTemplateFile(String xMLTemplateFileName) throws IOException {
URL url = Resources.getResource(xMLTemplateFileName+".xml");
The file I'm looking for is in the root folder for src/main/resources and also src/test/resources, previously I had it within a completely different location before I switched over to JBehave. I've tried it within a subdirectory in the same locations too.
I've recently updated the pom.xml to try to include the location required.
Extract from pom is below:

I am working my way through "Head First Java" and typing the code in the book into Notepad++ as I go. In the first few chapters the code was simple and only had one class (main). Now the code has two or more classes. Originally I would compile the code in the Command Window by typing "javac" and the program's name. After it compiled I would execute the program by typing "java -classpath . " and the program's name. However, now when program has several classes I get the following error: Could not find or load main class. Below is a program I am having issues with... does it need to be saved as two separate files?
class DogTestDrive {
public static void main (String [] args) {
Dog one = new Dog();
one.size = 70;
Dog two = new Dog();
two.size = 8;

I am not necessarily 'new' to java, however I have always used NetBeans so I am not entirely sure how to do what I need with the terminal commands. I am trying to execute a java jar file(which works perfectly on windows) on the Raspberri Pi, essentially debian linux.
As I mentioned previously, I have a java jar file which I can execute on windows, but it depends on three other libraries, namely RXTX, MySQL, and JSON. I am not positive how to compile this into a jar, or execute it in debian.
This was how I attempted to load two of those libraries, however the last line is the error I received.
Direct copy from the terminal:
pi@raspberrypi ~/Desktop $ java -Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni -cp /usr/share/java/RXTXcomm.jar:/usr/share/java/mysql-connector-java-5.1.10.jar:. Automation_System.core.HAS
Error: Could not find or load main class Automation_System.core.HAS
Specifically, the problem seems to be that I cannot use the -cp flag to indicate classpaths, and the -jar flag indicating I am executing a jar in the same command. I am not sure how to point the compiler to my main class HAS in the core package of the jar, and also to the libraries referenced.
I'm trying to make a statement of elapsed time print out after I've executed everything with a ThreadPoolExecutor. What happens is that instead of printing out after all the iterations within the for each loop are done, it prints out the elapsed statement in the middle of the iterations or even in the beginning of the whole execute() method. Here is my code:

import java.util.ArrayList;
import java.util.List;
import java.util.concurrent.Executors;

I've just installed the last Java kit JDK plus netbeans and I've done my first project in Java. It is running perfect from command line<but is is difficult to execute each time from there my tests> but I couldn't run the jar file from windows with double click he jar file even I've spent 3 hour on google to find different methods (registry modifying, control panel/program running in windows, a patch file etc, ) ....

I am validating an xml file using XQuery in Java using XQJ API. When the query is triggered it is giving the ClassNotFoundException for orai18n.text.OraCollator. I have placed the orai18n-collation.jar file in MANIFEST.MF file and it is loaded in to the class path.
Not sure on why it is giving the exception.

I have inherited some code that is supposed to work just fine. The trouble is that when everything is rebuilt on my desktop, the projects crash. They all seem to crash at one particular part of code. I pass it a string and the "getResource" or "getContentClassLoader" is failing.

I guess one way to tackle this is to break it apart into segments.
