I have a requirement to download the data from DB to CSV/Excel. What I did is retrieving all the records from DB and store in the List and pass that list to the jsp page. In JSP page, I am using the below setting to download it to CSV/EXCEL.

response.setHeader("Content-disposition","attachment;filename="+fileName);
It was working fine. But I have an issues in it. Excel is capable of storing it only 65,536 rows. Even all the data getting downloaded to CSV/excel (> 65,536), while saving I am getting error from excel saying that it can't save more than 65,536 rows and the below data won't be saved.
This workbook contains data in cells outside of the row and column limit of the selected file format.
Data beyond 256 (IV) columns by 65,536 rows will not be saved.
Formula references to data in this region will return a #REF! error.
I am not opt for POI apache third party at this point of time. Is it possible to download it in other sheets if it exceeds the max limit.
Example: Having data of around 100,000.
Download 65,536 - Sheet 1
Remaining in Sheet 2,3.. of the same excel.

I am reading Excel data using java apache. I got format issue while reading double value such as 869.87929 (in excel) into 869.8792899999999 (in java).
I'm using following files to read excel data.
1. Schema.csv: SheetName,2-int-Double
2. File.xls:
col1 | col2
123 | 869.87929
Sample code:
if(type.equals("Double")){
String str = content[i-1];
//System.out.println(str);
BigDecimal d = new BigDecimal(str);
listObjects.add(d);
}
Note: type from schema.csv & content [] value from file.xls
If I print **str**, it shows value as 869.8792899999999.
But i need to get **str** value as 869.87929. How can I get it?

i have to write more than 100000 rows in a excel sheet (file size more than 20 MB) via java.
when i use XSSF, i am getting below Error.

Recently we got an issue about file download. We are using below code to fetch the data from backend(DB2) and export to excel.
Before Jan 15 it use to take 2 minutes to download the file (2 MB size). But now its taking half an hour to download.

We have restarted server, system but still problem exists. We found that there is no code level or data base level or network level issues.
Now we have to see server level issue. What are the factors which effects the file downloading at server level.

I've got a Java application made in eclipse using lwjgl. I'm trying to make a working exe-file by the following steps:
- Export project as executable jar (copy libs into subfolders)
- Making a fat jar using jarsplice (adding lwjgl-jars and natives)
- Wrap the fat jar in an exe-file using launch4j
Result: Error: invalid or corrupt jarfile.
The fat jar is working fine. If I make an exe-file directly in jarsplice it also works fine but then I'm missing the possibilities of setting the icon etc.
This is what I do in launch4j:
- Choose an outputfile (ending with name.exe)
- Choosing the fat jar
- Specifying min JRE version to 1.7.0 (says JavaSE-1.7 in eclipse)
- Build wrapper
- Run -> Error (see above)

However, when I export it as a Runnable Jar File, then open the file on my Desktop, nothing happens.How do I get the program to export so that when I open the file, a window opens that acts as the console (so the program can run in it)?

I am trying to export a DB record to an excel sheet. Below is the code which I tried. I am not getting any error but still only the first record of the table is getting inserted into the excel sheet. But when I try printing, I prints all the records. Below is the code I did to insert records.

Not sure why this code isnt working for me, it makes an empty excel file called output, but never copies the contents in "myfile" to that output file. I have Excel 2010 but I saved both of them as 97-2003 workbooks. Am I missing something? Do you have to go cell by cell to copy an excel file with JXL?
