File Handling - Display Path Of The File In Text Field

I am facing a problem while executing a task. My task is to make such a code which will search for my source code file (abc.java) in all directories and then displays the code in textarea inside frame and along with that i also have to display the path of the file in text field. I have coded something but i am really not getting anywhere near my task.

I'm supposed to write a GUI application letting the user enter a file on the text field and display its hex representation in a text area and vice versa.

So basically I have this alpha.dat file which stores data submitted when I execute the alpha class and here I have a AWT textfield which reads a password from user. I have another class called beta and I have another AWT textfield in it which also reads the same password from user. How do I compare both passwords?(I know I need both classes to refer to alpha.dat but how do I compare both textfields in different classes)

I want to display a new panel with a text field and a label in it, and add the text from that textfield to an array list each time i press enter. here is what i am trying to do:

I'm writing a program that dynamically updates an xml file as it is being edited. It needs an add function, delete, and save, and so far, I've gotten only the add function working properly. I've got a delete method that works when I run only that method, but not when I run the program as a whole. I don't get any exceptions or errors and I'm trying to edit the file via printwriter. It creates a new temporary file with the new xml with the deleted section and then overwrites the current .xml file. It runs flawlessly when I run only the delete method, but not when I run the program as a whole.

I created a jsf page inside my ADF project. Inside I have a button and a text field. If i press button my servlet is activated. It returns a jasper report in pdf format. Now I would like to display my text field value as a jasper report parameter. So this is a part I don't know how to do. How do I get a value of my text field inside servlet? I think I need to save the file into an object but I cannot seem to figure out how. I tried to save it into a string array but that did not work either. I have been working on that section for three weeks and cannot get it to display correctly.

I have my below Swing GUI code in which I want to read and display some contents present in text file say (test.txt) which is located in my local disk (C: est.txt). I have to write a gui program where I can enter a file name and then it gets displayed in a text area when I click Open. Conceptually, I do not get this. I was thinking of appending the text file into a string or something, but I guess I'm confused on how it all works and how I can open the text file. I have a program that reads lines of text, but some of the lines of text aren't applicable and break the program. I'd like to put a letter in front of the lines in the .txt file I want to use, such as a #.
I need to make an if loop that'll check for the first letter on the line being #, and use the line in the program if true and skip if false. I'm guessing a boolean variable would be useful here to be true or false depending on the presence of #, but I don't know how to only read the first letter of each line, how can I do this?

I created a GUI using Java with Buttons, Pictures and labels.When one of the buttons is pressed it increases the price, which can be seen by the labels increasing the necessary amount.What I would like to be able to do in my GUI is allow the user to record details of the sale and be able to display the sales of past customers to date, by this I mean when I click one of the buttons it will record the amount of that item into a file and when I press the another button, not the same button as the items, it will show the user the existing orders that have been taken in the past.

I am trying to learn how to use file input/output in addition to exception handling... The problem is my textbook wrote this chapter for a version of Java that hasn't come out yet, so everything I do "according to the textbook" doesn't work. any feedback on correcting these exception errors because I am not sure what is causing them or how to fix them.
I was able to have it display the name of the book in the Book.txt file, but when I added the second part if the file doesn't exist, that's when the errors came up and it wouldn't compile.

What I do wrong when I trying to set path to file in my jar app. I have application which work with xml file. I have next project structure:
/project_root_directory
|_ /lib
|_ /resources/file.xml
|_ /src
So, I need to set correctly path to my jar file, because when I running it from IDE, it works nice. By default it seems:
private File file;
private StreamResult streamResult;
file = new File("resources/file.xml");
streamResult = new StreamResult(file);
And methods where I can modify the DOM structure via transformer in end of methods:
transformer.transform(source, streamResult);
So, I trying set path to file:
private URL url;
...
file = new File(url.getPath());
streamResult = new StreamResult(file);
But it didn't not work, because when I trying to get resource by next condition
url = getClass().getResource("resources/file.xml");
url = getClass().getResource("resources/file.xml");url = getClass().getResource(url = getClass().getResource("resources/file.xml");resources/file.xml");
url - is null

InputStream input = getClass().getResourceAsStream("resources/file.xml");
There, I got also null....
Also, I tried made absolute path
filePath = file.getAbsolutePath();
file = new File(filePath);
streamResult = new StreamResult(file);
But it also didn't work. There I got message seems like: "Can't find resource /User/user1/Desktop/program1/resources/file.xml" - but that's really absolute path to a file.
Also, I tried made it via System.getProperty
String filename = "file.xml";
String workingDir = System.getProperty("user.dir");
finalfile = workingDir + File.separator + "resources" + File.separator + filename;
file = new File(finalfile);
I also made unit test which completed with "green light", but in jar its wrong with message "Can't find resource /User/user1/Desktop/program1/resources/file.xm" ....

I am working on a project that requires me to build a database with random access file, representing products, the base product contains a name (about 30 characters), a price (double), and a quantity (integer). I have worked on this project for probably 15+ hours and have tried so many things and feel like I've barley made any progress...
The part i am really struggling with is taking the data from the text file and creating an object array with it using the product class. Once ive accomplished that, i have to use that data to create a random access file with the data.
Here is the base Product class that must be used to create the objects for the array.

And then here is the data from the text file that i must extract to use to create product objects.

New to programming. Am supposed to create a program that reads a text file (of integers) and computes a series of computations on these integers. I don't have the code for the integers in my code yet, (i know how to do those), but am struggling getting the array to simply print in the print writer. I have the user select a text file, read the file with a scanner, and then save the computations done from my code into another file. specifically, the problem is as follows: Write a program that uses a file chooser dialog to select a file containing some integers. The file contains an integer N followed by N integers. The program then uses a file chooser dialog to let the user specify the name and location of an output file to write results to.The data written to the output file will be as follows
(1) The original list of N numbers from the input file,
(2) The original list of N numbers printed in reverse order of how they appear
in the input file.
(3) The sum and average of these numbers,
(4) The minimum of all the numbers,
