For Loop With Parameter N That Determines Number Of Terms

a. Write a code that is written inside a body of a method named average that takes two parameters: N that determines number of terms you should calculate the average of and lowBound that is the beginning term of the geometric sequence. if lowBound is 4 and N is 3, then the average of 4, 8, 16 is calculated and returned.
My code runs fine if I set the test as 16, but I can't figure out what I could do to N to have it determine the number of terms. This is what I have so far...

I'm in the process of writing a program that determines if a number is a Palindrome or not. I'm not allowed to use strings and am required to use the getSize method shown below. I believe my issue that I'm having is that the "num" is not being called in the getSize method, and therefore not running the while loop, or at least that is what I believe is the issue.

Using Eclipse I have imported a WAR with source. I have exported that project as a new war and it ran fine. I then added my own package and exported the war again. The jar file does not show up in /WEB-INF/lib folder. When I deploy the war on a tomcat server it barfs the following error:

I must convert some Java fubction to a plain "Basic", as VB6. The problem I'm facing is this: Suppose I have an array like

I'm not sure this is right... Is there a way to automate this process? What if we have arrays like int[][][] Terms? This is terrible... Is there a software tool for this?

I am not sure what is wrong with my code? The code produces a negative number when I type in 4000000 into the fib method parameter.
Each new term in the Fibonacci sequence is generated by adding the previous two terms. By starting with 1 and 2, the first 10 terms will be:
1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, ...
By considering the terms in the Fibonacci sequence whose values do not exceed four million, find the sum of the even-valued terms.

What program needs to find is the most biggest number. It does the job, but another task of the program is to find the index of that number . The second loop should do just that, but for some reason, as the loop goes further, it passes through the if statement even though answer "a[i]" is not equal to "answer". The idea is that if a[i] and answer are equal, the "i" should represent the index number.

What I am trying to do here is allow input to loop until 0 is entered for the product number. When 0 is entered, it should then dump the total for each individual product. I've tried it about a dozen different ways and have yet to be able to get the loop to function as intended. The way I have the code below, the loop will not function at all (where as before it looped, but never finished).

What's wrong with my code. It says 'you win' even when I guess an incorrect number. And then the 'win' message keeps repeating. I'm thinking I need a way to generate a new input? And then maybe take the 'win' message out of the loop, but that breaks it too.

I have just started learning Java from a local teacher, this teacher said that the Architecture Neutral refers to Hardware while Platform Independent refers to Operating System, but I found a link to a White Paper by James Gosling. The chapter 4 of this White Paper mentions about both binary code format that is independent of hardware architecture and operating system interfaces, but the main point to be noted is that he has put both under the heading Architecture Neutral. Does it mean that the original buzz word is Architecture Neutral, which includes both hardware and operating system independence?

I have seen many ways of describing what objects are, one being that objects are a user-defined datatype. However, if objects are datatypes, then what does that make classes? To me, it seems as though classes should be the "types" of data defined by the programmer, and objects should be the specific "values" of that user defined data type. As an example, an integer would be a class, while 1 would be a "value" of that class, i.e. an object. From this point of view, I don't see why a specific number would be a data type... Therefore, why do we say that objects are user defined data types rather than classes?

I'm working on a project where I have to take an input text file with terms and create a glossary with hyperlinks. I've got it working halfway. It outputs the html files for some but not all of the terms and I can't figure out why.
I'm getting these errors:

I'm trying to change the code on a Fibonacci series program that would allow me to exit the loop early if I exceed a specified number. The user enters any 2 random numbers (which will be the 1st 2 no.'s of the Fibonacci sequence printed to screen) and then continues up to a 'limit' on the number of numbers set in code. Here's the code:
int[] array = new int[limit]; //Define an array whose length is set by an int value for limit!!
array[0] = x; //User supplies a int value for x which takes the 1st position in the array!!
array[1] = y; //...and an int value for y in the 2nd position!!
for (int i = 2; i < limit; i++) //Start from the 3rd position of the array when carrying out calculations!! {
array[i] = array[i-1] + array[i-2];

To exit the code/ 'limit' early if the array prints a number higher than 100, I tried putting a 'while' condition before the last line, as follows:
while (array[i] < 100)
System.out.print(array[i] + " ");
Can I even use a 'while' loop within an array, or is there some other way I need to integrate it?

The term "Local variable" is related to scope. That is a local variable is one which is defined in a certain block of code, and its scope is confined inside that block of code.And a "Member variable" is simple an instance variable.
I read in a discussion forum that when local variables are declared (example code below), their name reservation takes place in memory but they are not automatically initialized to anything. On the other hand, when member variables are declared, they are automatically initialized to null by default.

int [] myInt; // A local, member variable (because "static" keyword is not there) declared

So it seems that they are comparing local variables and member variables. While I think a member variable can also be be local in a block of code, isn't it?

I was practicing my java skills and came across an exercise in which a non parameter constructor calls a two parameter constructor. I tried a few searches online but they all came back unsuccessful. This is the part I am working on:

I am trying to print a loop inside an array of a greater size than the loop itself. Like for example I have an array of size 7 but it has only 3 elements.
int[] array=new int[7]
array[0]=2;
array[1]=3;
array[2]=4;
now what I want to do is print these three numbers in a loop so that my array[3]=2;array[4]=3;array[5]=4 ...... till the last one. Also the array could be any size and not just 7.
