I am currently working on modules of a java program but am having issues with this module . it gives this error code"syntax error on token '?', invalid primitive type".
Multiple markers at this line - void is an invalid type for the variable loadDictionaryFromFile - Syntax error on token ")", ; expected - Syntax error on token "(", ; expected
Line 13 starts public void load....
Code:
import java.io.FileInputStream; import java.io.FileNotFoundException; import java.util.Scanner; public class PirateTranslator { public static void main(String[] args)
If I have a method that creates a new variable (the name of which is a string argument for the method). Can I get that variable to appear in the workspace in the variables pane?
So instead of just using return to output the variable how do I get in that variables pane?
I want to write a method which would give us a rectangle with numbers. The input is an integer which represents the length of a line in rectangle and the result type is void. The example for n=4 is:
While doing trial and error got caught in the below scenario.
public class Crypt { public static void main (String args[]) { /*all I want is calculate a binary number (ex -: 22 , 34) using decimal base (10n). *So, I have to convert 2 p into 10n form so I have to find n in terms of p . We have x as the input. * The formula works as below. *2p =10n *p ln (2) =n ln (10) *n = p [ln(2) / ln(10)] *2 p = 10 p [ln(2) / ln(10)]
So today i was trying to compile a simple script that used to work before on Sublime Text 2, an i got the following error;
javac: invalid flag: Usage: javac <options> <source files> use -help for a list of possible options
I already know the script works because i didn't change anything since the last time it work, but anyways just in case i tried running a HelloWorld program just to check it out and i got the same error. The i stop trying to compiling the HelloWorld on Sublime so I went to Terminal and i got the same exact error.
I've never had to do a void method call. I have my void method in one class and my main (where I want to do the call) in another. How do you actually call a void method?
I am having a problem with the JavaFX MediaPlayer playing videos with resolutions greater than 1920x1080px. For testing purpose I downloaded the example from [URL] ... and added the following error-handling:
The video is encoded with h264 and aac (for audio) and is having a resolution of 1920x1168px. The error occurs with each video with a resolution greater than 1920x1080px. Vidoes with a resolution of 1920x1080px or smalle are working fine. The playback of all videos is working with VLC-Player. I tried Java 7_51 and Java 8_5.
I'm pretty new to Java. I was working the project about gamble. I'm having trouble with invoking the void method from another class. This is what I have done so far.
There are two classes, and I'm trying to invoke gambleAnotherRound method from gambler class into highlighted part in casino class. So, what I want to do is when the program generates "else" part, it goes back into another gamble round.
public class gambler { public void gambleAnotherRound(double dollarsBet) { dollarsSpent += dollarsBet; Random randomNumbers = new Random(); double randomDouble = randomNumbers.nextDouble();
[Code] ....
Below one is casino class.
// use a System.out.print statement to ask how much money each gambler should bet. // Then declare a variable dollarsBet of type double, and set its value to the keyboard's // keystroke (be sure to use keyboard.nextDouble()). // If the user enters 0, then issue a break statement, so that the while loop terminates // Else, invoke the gambleAnotherRound method of each Gambler, and pass it the variable dollarsBet
I am writing a program to take user input in order to create an array, then call a void method that will read in the numbers (from user's input) and fill the array.This method must use a loop to do this.(The array is to be passed to the void method as a parameter)
in theory, this should change the contents of the array, but without returning a result. Because it is a void method, the array is only passed through the method, not returned; Am I correct?How can I return the array and display it without having to change my method type?
public class Program7Array public static void main(String[] args) { // main method int howMany = Integer.parseInt(JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, // user decides how long array is "How many numbers are there?")); double [] numbersArray = new double[howMany]; // creating the array makeArray(numbersArray, howMany); // calling the array
I have uninstalled JAVA because I needed to download the 64-bit version but no matter WHAT I do I still get the same installation error message "keyset as registered in invalid" and I was downloading it from [URL] .... I will do whatever it takes to fix this!
I am trying to encrypt a message using RSA algo but getting the following error:
java.io.StreamCorruptedException: invalid stream header at java.io.ObjectInputStream.readStreamHeader(ObjectI nputStream.java:753) at java.io.ObjectInputStream.<init>(ObjectInputStream .java:268)
Java Code :

import java.util.HashSet; import java.util.ArrayList; public class Graph { double [] [] adj; graph (double [] [] a) { adj= new double [a.length][a.length]; for (int i=0;i<a.length;i++) for (int j=0;j<a.length;j++) adj[i][j]=a[i][j]; }

after compiling it shows invalid method declaration ; return type required.
