How To Get Coordinates Of Transparent Area In Image

Mar 25, 2015

How to find coordinates of transparent area in the image. I working on .png image which has transparent background and transparent area in the middle of the image. The transparent area in the middle look a like ellipse, so i want to find coordinate of top, bottom, left, and right of that area. I am using opencv.

I have tried to find pixels and from result that i got, i understand that pixel with rgb that equal to 255.0 255.0 255.0 is transparent. what i have in my mind is, if rgb with value that equal to 255 255 255 detected, i will put 1 into arraylist named transparent, and if it not equal to 255 255 255 i will put 0 into the list. So when i look into the list, if there is 1 0 or 0 1 it means that border between transparent area and colored area or vice versa. But, how to know if that border is between transparent area in the middle of image and the image, and not between background and the image. Am i doing this correctly?

Here snippet of code.

Mat imgMask = Highgui.imread(imgfile);
double[] pixels = new double[3];
System.out.println("channel " + imgMask);
for(int x = 0; x < imgMask.cols(); x++) {
for(int y = 0; y < imgMask.rows(); y++) {
pixels = imgMask.get(y, x);

Losing Color During Image Conversion Using JAI

Jan 20, 2015

I've been using Java Advanced Imaging to convert tiff images to jpeg. The code I'm using is pretty simple, and I'll include it below:

Java Code: private static void convertImage(File tiff_src, File jpg_dest)
{
if (tiff_src == null || !tiff_src.exists()) throw new IllegalArgumentException();
try
{
SeekableStream stream = null;

[code]...

The problem when I run this code is that during conversion, the decoder or encoder seems to drop a good deal of black. I'd like to include examples, but the tiff images are about 30 MB...I've tried configuring the decode parameters, as well as the encode parameters, but like I said, somewhere during conversion I drop a good deal of the black from the image.

Translating Grayscale Image To Color

Aug 3, 2014

I have a greyscale image with alpha. I also have a colour. I want to change that greyscale image to the colour specified, with black remaining black and white being the specified colour, and the different shades of grey between becoming the shade of the specified colour.I've got a couple of different thoughts about how to solve it myself, but I rather hope there's an easier way.

Solution one would be to use a BufferedImage and just use getRGB/setRGB excessively.The second solution would be to use the above and cache the result. Given that there can be up to 10 different colour schemes, and up to approx. 2000 different images, this can, in the end, become excessively memory-hogging (although the general case would likely be 3 colours and perhaps a hundred or two images). It would also mean I'd have to loop through all images whenever the user changes the colour.

Is there a magical third solution that can translate a greyscale image to colour on-the-fly that's fast enough to run hundreds of thousands of times per second? No code available since this is just in the thought process right now.

Cutting Out Specific SHAPE From IMAGE

Apr 9, 2014

I'm making my 2D Java game, in my own style, in my own way. I'm trying to make it as code efficient as possible and compact, it usually is easier to change that way. I'm going to use BufferedImage subdivision on tilesets to take out tiles that I need, rather than creating multiple images with a tile each. Now, I've made multiple water tiles, for how they would be arranged differently.

So let's say you have a single water spot, it will be circular, you have two water spots, you have a tile-thick line with circular ends like two little water spots connected, this makes the game look more advanced, better, more realistic and good in many other ways. But, I found that an avarage amount of shapes needed is 25. I thought, how could I make this more efficient?

Could it be possible to use like shape cutting tools or something that would take out a specific shape of a single water tile to leave out all the different shapes, this is a good idea because I could use these tools for all kinds of different tiles in order to make specific features. By tools I mean simple black shapes which will remove the unwanted parts of the tile to form the wanted shape.

Buffered Image - Color Palette Hashtable

Feb 12, 2014

How can I write a BufferredImage to an 8-bit .bmp using indexed colors stored in a <String,Color> Hashtable?

I've never used Hashtables before, and I didn't know color indexing existed until now, but I can do most other things in java fairly well.

I'm not looking for code, just the concept, as I really don't know how Hashtables work (although I could figure it out), and how color indexing does. I know how to write image files, just not indexed or with a specific number of bits. I am using Hashtables generated from GIMP.

EDIT: I mainly want to know how to save a BufferedImage as an indexed .bmp.

Constantly Changing Color Of World Map Image In Java

Oct 7, 2014

I am trying to create a virus simulation program. The program is supposed to just be a map of the world where the user can click any country in the world to specify where they want their virus to start, specify how transmittable the virus is, and be able to see how the virus spreads through the world by seeing a change in color throughout the world,

I want the world map to initially start out with a very light yellow, and as areas of the world slowly start to get more and more infected by the virus, I want those areas on the map to start changing to a very dark red (going from a light yellow, through shades of orange and red, to dark red).

So, the main idea of this is to have a program that displays an image where certain parts of the image will slowly change color during the runtime of the program. I obviously know how to change colors of certain parts of a window or even an image, but this is very very detailed and advanced but how to even start this.

Changing Value In Specific Point Of Specific Line In TXT File

Feb 9, 2015

So here we go with my problem:

- from the main class will arrive three variable (String name_used, int level_choose, int level_result)

I have a .txt file with this kind of formatting:

mario 1 1 0 1 0 1
carlo 0 0 0 1 1 0
...

Where I use 1 and 0 in the main for write if the level (you see that the numbers are always sixr? are egual to six level existing) BEFORE is done correct or wrong

- when in the main a user make a level a feedback coming back from the class level saying if the user made the count correctly or wrong. and i wanna replace the value (1 or 0) in the txt file with the new level result.

So i have all what i need as parameters i think.

name_used to look for the correct line in .txt file with .indexOf
level_choosed to go throught the correct index of that line
level_result (1 or 2) to be replaced with the existing one

Java Code:

public void salvaRisultati(String name_used, int level_choosed, int result_of_level) throws FileNotFoundException{
}
} mh_sh_highlight_all('java');

Check Specific Value From A Specific Line From TXT File

Feb 8, 2015

I have some problem to understand the way to make this:

In my main class a user can save his name in a txt file (and the system initially will add 6 value equals to 0) than he can choose between 6 level and make it.

example of .txt file data:

mario 0 0 0 0 0 0
carl 0 0 0 0 0 0

AT THIS MOMENT i just made other class and they work, is this new one that is hard for me. I'm trying to make a class that:

1- (first method called verificaRisultati) take name_used and level_choosed from the main and go to check in the .txt file if that level before was done right(1) or wrong(0)

and return something like "before you made this level properly" or "before you made this level incorrectly" AND THEN let the user start with the level.

2- (second method called salvaRisultati) at the end of the level i wanna pass the result (correct/incorrect) to another method of this class that will save the value (1 or 0) associated to the user in the right position.

This is the class that i'm writing:

Java Code:

import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.io.FileNotFoundException;
import java.io.FileReader;
public class ResultUsers {

[Code] ....

I really need some hint and some code example because I'm stuck. How I can take exactly the line with the user name? How I can correctly split the line in an array and then read/modify the value for that level?

Rubik Cube - Aligning Middle Side Color With Bottom Middle Side Color

Jan 16, 2015

I am trying to align the core/middle side color of a cube, index 4, with the bottom middle color of the same side, index 7. (Each side has values 0-8 where 0 - is the top left corner, 1 is the top mid corner, 2 is the top right corner, 3 is the middle left corner, etc).

In addition to lining up those two colors, I am also making sure that the neighbor color of index 7(the color that it is attached), in this case the bottom color, matches with the top core/middle color. I will attach some pictures and a print out to show what I am talking about...

However, in my code when I am trying to align all of these up together, it does not go into the while loop. Each of the loops essentially is trying to get a match of same color with index 4 and 7, as well as making sure that index 7's neighbor color (the bottom color, in this case) matches with the top color.

Here is what I have tried:

private void alignSideColor(){//make the bottom colors neighbor match with a middle side value and rotate it to the top, for the top cross

if(cube.bottom.square[1].charAt(0) == topColor){
while(cube.front.square[7].charAt(0) != frontColor && cube.bottom.square[1].charAt(0) != topColor){
rotateBottomClockwise(1);
System.out.println("Trying to align side color...");

[Code] .....

The print out of the ELSE IF is:
alignment is: W-G and tops: R-R
NOW ITS ALIGNED
even though the sides, index 4 and 7, are NOT aligned with each other

I have also tried the same thing but with out the 2nd condition in each while loop, and although is DOES enter the while loop, it does not perform correctly -- index 4 and 7 WILL have matches colors, but it does not check to see if index 7's neighbor matches with the top color.

Here is how it prints out
** ** ** G7 B6 Y1 ** ** **//this portion is the back of the cube
** ** ** R6 W5 O4 ** ** **
** ** ** R3 W2 O1 ** ** **
B3 G4 Y9 W9 O8 Y7 W3 B4 G9//this portion is the left, top, and right of the cube
B2 G5 R8 W4 R5 Y6 O2 B5 G8
O7 W8 R9 B7 B8 B9 R1 R4 R7
** ** ** O3 O6 O9 ** ** **//this portion is the front of the cube
** ** ** Y2 Y5 Y8 ** ** **
** ** ** B1 G6 W7 ** ** **
** ** ** Y3 Y4 G1 ** ** **//this portion is the bottom the cube
** ** ** R2 O5 G2 ** ** **
** ** ** W1 W6 G3 ** ** **

Here is the cube showing the top, left and front side

Here is the left and bottom side. As you can see index 4, G5 -- yes that is a 5 lol -- does not have the same color as index 7, W8.

I need to rotate the bottom until W8 is aligned with a middle white value. An examples of a neighbor is: W8-R2

2D Arraylist Replace Specified Elements

May 11, 2015

I have a 2D arraylist, named as adjLists, which contains arraylists, containing values like these. Each two values are a "pair" and each third is a "flag" for the pair.

[278, 106, 0, 397, 36, 0, 59, 208, 0, 366, 221, 0]
[366, 221, 0, 397, 36, 0, 132, 390, 0, 278, 106, 0, 295, 0, 0]

I use code above to search for specified value pairs in these lists. vertexnum is the number of "sub arraylists" in adjLists.

for (int l = 0; l < vertexnum; l++) {
if (adjLists.get(l).get(0) == p.x && adjLists.get(l).get(1) == p.y) {
for (int h = 0; h < adjLists.get(l).size(); h += 3) {
for (int g = 0; g < vertexnum; g++) {
if ((vertexSprite[g].getX() + vertexSprite[g].getWidth() / 2) == adjLists.get(l).get(h)

[Code] ....

This code is to search exact values and replace their flag in every occurences. It can not find all the occurences of the values/pair in the lists, it replaces flag value only a few time. Value of score should be incremented with plus 1 after each found occurence, but this code increments it more than the number of matches.

Replace Correct Number Into Letter?

Mar 8, 2014

I'm trying to figure out the correct way to replace number into letter. In this case, I need two steps.

First, convert letter to number. Second, restore number to word.

Words list: a = 1, b = 2, f = 6 and k = 11.

I have word: "baafk"

So, for first step, it must be: "211611"

Number "211611" must be converted to "baafk".

But, I failed at second step.

Code I've tried:

public class str_number {
public static void main(String[] args){
String word = "baafk";
String number = word.replace("a", "1").replace("b","2").replace("f","6").replace("k","11");
System.out.println(word);

[Code] .....

Result for converting to number: baafk = 211611 But, result for converting above number to letter: 211611 = bkfk

What do I miss here?

How to distinguish if 11 is for "aa" and for "k"? D
