How To Separate Single Calculator Class (OOP Style)

I've been into java for about 4 months now, No complaints so far, it's pretty awesome! So I understand Polymophism pretty good, I did some Animal classes and it worked out neatly.
However. I just can't seem to find my way in OOP when trying to implement in on a Calculator Class I wrote. As you mind know, a calculator can be separated into many classes. But I actually just want it to be separated into some OO like: | Calculator | CalcGUI | CalculatorFunctions | CalcRun.
I tried separating the single Calculator class, however, my calculator Buttons didn't work after that, anymore..

How to create object for "class B" and call the "function_B" from other different class D where class D has no connection with class A? Here is my program.

Here, A, B, C are in the same package. But class D is in different package.

I know that I can declare and initialize an member variable inside a class in a single statement but I can't do them on separate sentence. Why?
For example, I am allowed to do the following,
class A{
int a = 5;
// rest of the class
}
But I am not allowed to do this,
class A{
int a;
a = 5; // it doesn't compile even when the variable 'a' is static
// rest of the class
}
Why java don't allow me to do that?

-I created the project with the checkbox "Create separate folder for sources and class files."
-I've tried running the program with the "mfq.txt" file in the root directory, the src directory, and the bin directory.
-I've even tried it in all three directories at once!
-I've also refreshed my project after each change in eclipse
-My error is the "FileNotFoundException" error
Here is the line giving me trouble
Scanner file = new Scanner(new File("mfq.txt") );
Where my code is wrong/where I should put my file? :tax:

I am trying to create a GUI interface in swing which consists of four classes: a GUI class, which creates a main JPanel, a label, and a JList, which it takes from the second class, a MovesList class that contains a JList and the stuff needed to interface with it. It also has a main class, which basically just creates an object of the GUI class for the main window, and an Other class from which I would like to be able to add an item to the JList. I created methods in the MovesList class to get each component (like getMoveslist, or getMovesListScrollPane), which I then used to create the JList in the GUI class. I also created an addMove method so that I can add an item to the JList from any class through a MovesList object. However, this addMove method only works when called from the GUI or MovesList classes -- it does nothing when I collect from the Other class.
Here is my code:

When I run this code, I get a window with a JLabel that says "Moves," and a JList that contains five elements -- test 1-test 5, but not a sixth "test from other class." ( using the add move method ) However, when I click on the window, the addMove method is also called, and successfully adds "test 6" to the list.

I've used Netbeans IDE to create a simple Swing JFrame container, class NewJFrame.
NewJFrame calls another JFrame with dialog in it. Problem is there is an endless call made to it. Here's the issue relevant piece of code:

I searched but i cannot understand why run class is getting called multiple times. I have attached the screen prints for both the screens. 2nd screen print(of called class) is very shallow since screen was blinking unstopped due to multiple calls, but i have attached a faint image of it.

I want to have two threads running in my class, one will be downloading info from a website then putting the thread to sleep for a little bit, then repeating. The other will be sending information to a website then putting the thread to sleep for a little bit, then repeating. Is it possible to do this in my main class? I already have one thread using run() for downloading the info and sleeping can i make another?

I need to work on this "Dice" program. I've done it twice already. I've also been pouring over examples on here and elsewhere online, but none of them exactly match what I'm doing, as they all say "Pair of Dice".Mine says: "Create a class called Dice to represent a SINGLE cube". It should have a method called roll() that randomly selects a number from 1-6 for the value of the dice."
It has to use java.util.random, not math.java, and it has to have numberShowing:int, roll():int, and main() all in it.The last part reads "Create a test main method for the Dice class that creates a dice and rolls it many times. Can you keep track of how many times a number comes up? Describe how or implement it in the program." I have started at this computer for hours, and read as much info as I can.

I have created an application using hibernate and struts.In which a form is created where the user will enter all its personal details(for e.g name ,phone no. and address).
Here for address I have used textarea and whenever user enters the address, sometimes it can be a long string also.
So the problem is if a long string is entered then while displaying that ,address comes on single line and the page is stretched.
how to break this single string into mutiple lines in java class?

I dont like having to use tab and backspace to get my brackets in line and neat. I have a routine that returns a boolean. If any of a series of tests fails, the routine returns false, otherwise it returns true. For example, the routine might test for whether or not an integer is both odd and greater than 99, thus:

I like the above because it suggests that "true" is the condition that applies if the incoming parameter meets all the required criteria. But I've sometimes seen this style used:
public boolean oddAndOld(int x)
{
if (x % 2 == 0)
return false;
if (x < 100)
return false;
else
return true;
}
I like this less because, among other things, if that last criterion is removed, the "else/return true" must be moved up into the immediately preceding test (or else leave some funny whitespace, depending on how you go about removing the departing "if" statement), but it does avoid suggesting that "return true" is hard-coded (that is, it reinforces that "true" is a conditional return value, not inevitable).

The Font style constants are of int: int[] fontStyleList = new int[] {Font.PLAIN, Font.BOLD, Font.ITALIC};But what do I do when I want to add the names such as PLAIN etc. as the name of a menu item?

I am using the Javafx 8 Date Picker. Its works fine. I have defined a stylesheet for my application and in that style sheet i have a style for Button. I apply this style to the every scene. Now my question is: When I use the datepicker and I click on the calendar icon, the datepicker popup appears and the left and right arrows adjacent to month and year fields in the seems to pick the style of the button class from style sheet defined in my application., Is there a way to avert this and tell datepicker to use default styles and not the styles defined my application.
I tried removing the style at runtime from the scene, but of no use.

I have a column of my TableView that just shows row numbers, and I would like to style the cells in that column so that they appears just like a column header (so the same styling as the headers use). I presume there is some simple way to do this by tapping into the right style class, but I am not sure which one.

I have a VBox with 20 buttons and I have this style applied (menu.css) (only for VBox wrapper):
.button:focused {
-fx-background-color: #0768A9;
-fx-text-fill: #FFFFFF;
}
But when I pressed other button outside the VBox the style disappears, because the other button get the focus.
How I can do to keep the last button pressed with a custom style? (Only for buttons containing the VBox).

We have this website that is run on two web applications. The first web application hosts the home page and clicking certain links in the home page would forward it to pages of the second web application where certain functionalities can be done. Now, there has been an initiative to redesign the site to have a login page and only logged in users could browse it. This would mean a login page being created in the first app, and when links to the second application are clicked, the pages are supposed to forward to it with the same session of the user that logged in.
We have already creating handling to pass the session from the first app to the second. Logging out from the first application would also invalidate the same user session in the second application. My questions is, is this a bad idea? would it be better to combine the two apps even if it would mean a huge impact?
or is there are better way to do this? like set it in web.xml. I have read that you cannot use two context for it.

my application shows a profile. The profile has various interactors. I'm trying to follow the MVC model, so I neeed to tell my controller that something was selected. But the profile has many elements that can be selected(mostly labels, so not setActionCommand), how do I tell it WHICH one was it?
how do I separate those interactors? I created a HashMap that maps from JLabels to Strings. When a mouse event occurs I loop trough it to search for the event source. If I find it I fire my custom event.

I am working on an assignment that is to simulate the relationship between a cache and main memory. Basically it is supposed to be a 16 slot cache and we are to have 500 for main memory. I need it to compare the corresponding index for both arrays, then go through then repeat the cache array and compare it to the next 16 of main memory. It is to simulate an direct mapped cache. I am implementing the hash join algorithm for a project with a hard coded hash function. I've hashed the first relation and I've hashed the second relation. The problem is when hashing the second relation I only know how to add the tuple from the second relation into a third relation and not also access the first relation tuple at that time
The "hashtable" structure contains the hashcode of my key as well as the tuple stored in a string. This code below is taking place in the hashing of the second table, my function determines that both these tuples share the same hash code based on the first element in the tuple (element 0) so I add the tuple from my second relation to the qRelation but I also want to add the tuple from the hashtable at that point and I don't know how to access that string
