I'm doing a little game in Java and I would like to insert a background music managed by a JButton. When the button is pressed, the music starts and then, to stop it, the button is pressed again. If you don't press the button to stop the music remains in the loop until the player plays.

I have a JFrame with a button called "Start". The code behind the "Start" button triggers a function (startwork() ) that traverses through log files and then inserts rows into my JTable. If I call the startwork() function from the Start button action performed event, then when it inserts the rows to the JTable it is not immediately shown...
The code has to finish before the JTable is refreshed. However, if I run the startwork() function as soon as the JFrame is displayed (from the main() function) then I can see the Jtable being populated dynamically as it is inserting the rows.
How to allow the user to click on the START button and yet behave correctly to where the JTable is updated properly so that I can see the rows being inserted as it progresses.
I am trying to have a Jbutton (blocker02) act like a wall that will not allow a moving Jbutton to pass through. I tried using " if (blocker02. getBounds (). intersects(r_wall)) but it hasn't been successful.

I've almost finished building an Editor in Java, but i'm a bit stuck on creating a JCheckBox that saves your credentials (as in password only) . I would like it to be on a JPanel under the password input box and above the Login and Register buttons.
Code:
Login.java (Main class for this problem)
[URL] ....
The main thing here is using GridLayout, which is what im currently working with but can't seem to get it under the password input box.. check: [URL] ....
I have 3 classes
ARCHIVIO that contain List<Persona>
PERSONA that contatin List<SmartCard> and get/set ORGANIZZAZIONE

I am looking for a way in java for give me back in a table with checkbox if a PERSONA getOrganizzazione (this is also null value)

How can I make the JTextField to popout when a JCheckBox is selected? I tried putting it under the general if statement and under the if statement which is inside the general if statement.
I would like to put the answer of JCheckBox inside of a JTextArea. How to call the answer of JCheckBox if its check the response should be Yes if its unchecked the response should be No, and the yes/no answer should be appear inside JTextArea. But my problem is inside the JTextArea the answer from a JTextField and JComboBox is also there, and they should be appear in a parallel. I attached the physical appearance of the GUI.

I'm displaying a table with several read-only pieces of data, and a checkbox field that toggles the row color. The background color for the checkbox is not toggling correctly. I put together a SSCCE:

import java.util.ArrayList;
import java.util.List;

If I comment out the Nimbus look and feel, it works as expected. I googled this problem and found one possible solution on Stack Overflow. Their suggestion is:It's a bug in the synth-installed renderer, quick hack is to force the rendering checkbox opacity to true: ((JComponent) table. get Default Renderer(Boolean.class)).setOpaque(true);
I tried using this line and setting the opacity to true, but it renders the background white. I'm using Java 1.7.0_25.
I would like to get a checkbox within a table to fire an event when it's clicked rather. I gave tried putting in a TableModelListener but the the event only seems to trigger when I click on another column (as if the table is waiting to see if I will change my mind) before moving on.
I have also looked at the setValue of the TableModel itself.
Do I need to put an ActionListener on each checkbox or have I missed something ?
There are 8 JCheckboxes, which are already added to panel and aligned in group layout. From which, I have selected one JCheckbox. Then the resultant GUI should contain only remaining 7 JCheckboxes and selected one should temporarily removed or hide from GUI . Is it possible? If so, how?
View Replies View RelatedI need to compare two jtable and set the value from one jtabel to the other jtable.
jtable one consist of:
Unit ID Unit Name Access
ABC, Inc ABC Incorporate (checkbox) value = uncheck
CDE, Inc CDE Incorporate (Checkbox) value = uncheck
jtable two consist of:
Unit ID Access
ABC, Inc ABC Incorporate (checkbox) value = checked
CDE, Inc CDE Incorporate (Checkbox) value = checked
if comparing jtable one an jtable two has the same Unit ID then colum Access from jtable two value is set to jtable one become check based on jtable two.I did the code but did not work:
for (i = 0, jTable1.getrowcount(), i++) {
for (j = 0, jTable1.getrowcount(), j++) {
if (jTable1.getvalueAt(i,0) == jTable2.getvalueat(j,0)) {
jTable1.setvalueat(true,i,2)
}
}
}
above code i try did not make any changes.

what i am expecting to happen is the text field has the words Working Please Wait placed in it , this does not happen and the button should be hidden to prevent it being clicked a second time again this does not happen

I am having right now is that I don't know how to stop my music from playing? I am making a Connect 4 game with some audio to make it intuitive. Below is my code. This is my Music method.

AudioInputStream audioIn = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(music);
Clip clip = AudioSystem.getClip();

I called this method into a JButton i implemented into my main GUI.
if (e.getSource() == SoundOn){
Music();}
if (e.getSource() == SoundOff){

There is the method and my JButton.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but none of the buttons will show below. I tried using .add with the container name but it kept giving me an error. When I just put add.(); it seems fine but then nothing shows. Is there something I'm missing that's required?

I'm just learning JFrame and the like, I have 3 classes. I have one class that just calls the methods from the other 2 classes (my superclass), I have one class that draws a frame and adds a panel and then I have my 3rd class, where I'm trying to add a button from in the class to my panel in the other class. However it won't add the button. I'm sure I'm making some obvious mistake, as I'm quite new to Java, but I've been messing around with it for ages and I can't fix it. I'm also not sure if Frame should be extending Test or not.

import java.awt.*;
public class Test

JPanel panel;
JButton button1;

String fromUser = gui.Jusertxt.getText();

what is the code need to use to know Button in Gui.java is clicked or not? i try use method to return true value, but in not working.

I am trying to place the buttons on the bottom. I tried a few different things but the grid layout keeps grabbing it and making them a part of the grid at the button.
I don't really get the concept of how I "insert" an item into an array. I get a cannot find symbol error when I try to. I think its because I'm losing focus. What sort of code would "insert" an item into an array? I just want a goal of conceptually how I would do it.
Anyways, here are the instructions for the exercise:
Write a new class method, insert, for the Item class that takes three arguments - an Item[] array, an Item newItem, and an int k - and inserts newItem into array at index k, discarding the last item of the array (that is, the item originally at index array.length - 1).
Here is the uneditable code:
public class Item {
private int myN;
public Item( int n ) {
myN = n;
}
public String toString()
[Code] ....
I get a cannot find symbol error, but I thought I was doing as I was supposed to. I thought you had to have an ArrayList to be able to insert or delete an item from an array. How can you take a primitive object, like an array, and insert something into it. My idea of it was a[i] would be replaced with a[i + 1]. I know I'm getting this concept wrong because that's what I tried to do.
