I am developing a number of Data Structures in Bluej. Iv created a nice little arraylist program, and want to add a password generator to this program. People are already prestored within the arraylist, and contain attributes such as ID, name, password, etc. I can search a persons name within the list and then view their ID, password, and encrypted password. I want to add a field which will show password strength, bare in mind the password is already stored within the program and will not be entered via the user.
I understand that this could be done via a regular expression, or using some count method where certain goals/sets of characters increase the count which determine strength.
Iv created an array list which contains people and attributes such as user id, username etc. It works fine for the most part. It allows the user to enter a name into the system. If the name entered matches a name stored in the array list then it will display that user, its id, name and password. I need to implement a password strength checker; but i am struggling.
First off; i need a method that will determine how strong a password is. I then need to find a means of how to output the result of this, outputting it alongside the other outputted attributes: id, name and password.
Here is what i have attempted so far, but to be honest its probably completely different to the exact strength check and way that i want the result to be displayed. I know that the code below is a good start, but its not close to implementing the code in a way that the password strength result can be outputted in the arraylist after a search for a user and their password is made.

So I'm trying to make a simple program which takes in an argument (target) and then looks through an ArrayList of strings. If it finds a string that begins with (target) then it will return the index of that string. If it doesn't find a string which begins with (target) then it will return -1 instead.
For some reason, the program is always returning -1, rather than the index of the string within the ArrayList when there is one which matches the search criteria.

I'm trying to make a simple Caesar cipher that takes in a String as the first argument and a integer shift as the second argument. My current issues with the current code I have written is simply the password doesn't work unless it starts with 2 digits, the other order it displays as wrong. and I have no idea how to add a GUI.
If I "embed" a ProgressIndicator inside a ListView it has an ugly border and a white background. It looks like there's a TextField below the ProgressIndicator.

We are making a tic tac toe game for my CS120 class and I am having trouble figuring out how to make our X's and O's. Is there a way to make shapes besides making two lines for an X and an oval with a white smaller oval inside to make an O? We have only learned the basics so far in class (i.e. events, inheritance, client-supplier, etc.)
These are our instructions:
Write a controller that controls the game. There is one human player (the X player) and the computer player (the O player). The name of the class must be TicTacToeController. I have developed a GUI in which the username should be entered in the User "JTextfield" and Password in Password "JPasswordField". I need to make sure that password should not be displayed in the GUI. but I didnt find a way to parse the string (char) entered in the "JPasswordField" to the website.
It is always passing a 'null' character! I tried to search in internet and i found that it wont be able to pass the passwordfield characters but you will be able to check in the main function itself by comparing with another char array in the main program itself whether the password entered is correct or not.
Is there any alternate way for this?
