How To Make Shapes Move At Same Time When User Enter Up

How to make shapes move at same time when user enter up it should move up. It works for rectangle but i don't know how to move the others like that. (btw i am new to java). How can i do that?
We are making a tic tac toe game for my CS120 class and I am having trouble figuring out how to make our X's and O's. Is there a way to make shapes besides making two lines for an X and an oval with a white smaller oval inside to make an O? We have only learned the basics so far in class (i.e. events, inheritance, client-supplier, etc.)
These are our instructions:
Write a controller that controls the game. There is one human player (the X player) and the computer player (the O player). The name of the class must be TicTacToeController. In a sense, the controller is the game since the controller will 1) create a TicTacToeModel 2) create a TicTacToeView and 3) create a TicTacToeButton (you must write this class following the design pattern covered in class lectures), a label, and text field such that when the button is pushed, the player moves into the cell selected by the text field. After every player move, the computer moves into a randomly selected empty cell. When the game is over, a text message must be displayed somewhere on the screen the gives the status of the game. While you are free to change the appearance of the controller, the basic elements must be provided (a view of the game, a button, and a text field to enter the cell). I have a problem with a shape generator. It randoms the shapes just fine, I just do not know how to make all the shapes fully stay within the frames border.

I'm making a simple game where there's a 10x10 grid and you can move around a selection box and you can move around. I've been trying to make the green selection box to move around but it won't move! I only have right movement in the code but it won't work so far. Here are the classes that have to do greatly with each other.
How do I make the file reader object move to the next line if there is no more input on the line. Here is my text and output file as you can see that my text file column cuts off on the 2nd line after 70. I want to read that next line which is 100 into my labs variable however its reading it into my final exams variable. I'll also post the code but I didn't think it was necessary.

Basically I need to make a program prompts the user for an integer, check to make sure the length entered by the user is a power of 2 and at least 2. Then I need to convert from base e to base 2 then I need to print the tick marks of a ruler based of the value of the length.
I got the whole converting thing working and the check for a power of 2, that wasn't an issue because it didn't require any recursion. I just don't know how to print out the proper tick mark values.
The way it is supposed to work is that it needs to look like this. Say the user enters 8;

The bottom row is pretty much just the index value, that I print fine.
The top row though is supposed to be the length of the ticks on a ruler, with the middle most value being the value of the conversion from base e to base 2 from above. I can get that printed and what I get just looks like this.

As you can see I can get the middle value and the index values below but I don't know how to use recursion to get the right numbers.

Now the methods isPowerOfTwo() and printLength() both work fine. However, I'm not sure how to get the left and right side working.
My thoughts were to split the length in half and get a left and right side. I gave both of them arrays so I can keep track of the values. Now as you've seen above I get all zeros and I know it's because that's the default value in an array, I just don't know how to get the proper values.
I'm currently taking a Java Programming module in college, the program we are using is jGrasp and I'm currently stuck on one aspect of the language.
I did VB last year and I enjoyed it and got good grades so I'm comfortable with Java in terms of compiling the code correctly and getting it to run with no errors.
But for a project we got yesterday, the user must be able to enter data (e.g. an answer) into jGrasp without using a GUI. This is the case because we won't be dealing with GUIs until next semester.
I'm able to handle the rest of the project, but the part which I can't figure out is how the user can interact with jGrasp without the aid of a GUI.

I am learning Java on my own, and I am creating little programs to do so.The program below asks the user to input text and hit enter. When user does that, it asks if that is correct. If the user enters "y," the program ends. That's good.If the users enters "n," the strGrategul is set to empty which triggers the while statement to start over again. That's good. However, when the program asks the user to "Tell me one thing you are grateful for..." it doesn't wait for user input. Instead it skips to "You said ''? Enter 'y' or 'n'" It thinks the user enter an empty line.

If you cant tell straight away how i have stuffed up, what is happening is this;
When i am promoted to enter my name, 'John Smith'. The word 'John' would be stored in the name variable, while 'Smith' is stored under gender, so the next prompt is then 'Whats your address?'
So its only assigning one word per variable, now as far i understand, a string should not work that way. So where is my mistake?

How do I first allow them to enter the size of an array, and then enter strings (list) into that array. I have to meet certain requirements for this one program, and one of them is as follow: The program will require the user to enter the needed values one after another. If any of the entered values is invalid, then the program will detect that and go into a loop requiring the user to enter a valid value. The program must keep track of the total number of invalid values that the user has entered.
I know how to set a restriction and create a loop to keep asking the same question until it is satisfactory ( in this case I used a while loop) but I am at loss on how I should keep track of the total number of invalid values. I know I can use an increment but how do I set a variable for when the program meets an wrong input from the user.
