How To Pass Java Object Into Spring Controller
Jan 7, 2014
When I hit the url at the first time my call goes to the spring controller and sets the userDetails objects in the modelAndView.addObject("userDetails", userDetails.getUserDetails()) and returns the userDetails.html page. if I click any link in the same page i want to pass same (userDetails) object thru javascript or jquery and calls the another(controller) method and returns the same (userDetails.html) page.
It means how can I pass the java object thru javascript or jquery and calls the controller. If I get the same object in my controller i can avoid calling the db again.

I need to pass advanced object into controller from JSP page, but I always get null result.It's a controller method:
Java Code:
@RequestMapping(value="admin-user-edit", method=RequestMethod.POST)
public ModelAndView editUser(@ModelAttribute(value="user") UsersEntity user)
{
if (null == user)System.out.println("User is null");
else
System.out.println("User name = " + user.getName() + " | Users id = " + user.getId());
ModelAndView view = new ModelAndView();
return view;
} mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
And this is a JSP page snippet. I need to choose some user from user list and pass it to controller.
XML Code:
<c:forEach var="user" items="${user_list}">
<tr>
<td><c:out value="${user.id}" /></td>
<td><c:out value="${user.name}" /></td>
<td><c:out value="${user.login}" /></td>
<td><c:out value="${user.status}" /></td>
[code]...
I tried to pass it through HttpServletRequest argument but all the same.

I am trying to find either some references to point me on the right track with passing an object with all of it's properties still in tact after it's been created. Currently I am trying to do this through an interface but it seems to just create a new object everytime without the properties. Example below :
import java.util.ArrayList;
import java.util.List;
public interface TPerson{
//public Person p = null;
}
class Thrower {
Person p;
[code]....
When I implement the interface on the other objects as soon as I call the setP method shown above it seems to just create a new one even though I pass the object to the method I want to use.

I’m teaching myself Java. I am a fairly proficient programmer in other languages, but this is the first OO language I’m doing.I have a question that is a bit hard to summarize. Or it should be: how can I pass on an object (or variable) to an event listener?
I am writing an application in which you can play a Sudoku game. I have separated the “logic” or the “model”(the classes with Sudoku data structures and methods to manipulate them) from the presentation (the view and the controller).The main method starts off as follows:
SudokuModel model = new SudokuModel();
SudokuView viewController = new SudokuViewController(model);
The first line creates class for the logic and the second line creates the class for the view and the controller. Since the view and the controller need access to the business logic, the model is passed on to the ViewController class.The SudokuViewController class creates the user interface in Swing and it handles the user input. For the user input I have created a number of listeners, like this:
table.addKeyListener(this);
Now these listeners need access to the model since they update it. However, as far as I’m aware the only parameter passed on to an event listener is the event itself. So these event listeners do not have direct access to the model, even though it is passed on to the constructor of the class SudokuViewController.
To circumvent this, I made model2 an attribute (variable) of the class SudokuViewController. The constructor of the class sets this variable as follows:
model2 = model;
Now the event listeners have access to model2, which they can manipulate.This works. However, I think it is an ugly solution, introducing an additional object (model2). I’d like to pass on the object named model to the event listener, but this doesn’t seem to be possible.

Essentially, the code I want is:
public void randomCreate(ParentObject obj){
int x = random(0-4); //pseudo
int y = random(0-4); //pseudo
create new ParentObj(x,y);
}
ParentObject is actually abstract, so you would only ever pass one of its children objects to it, and a child object of that type would be created. It seems like there should be a way to pass a type, rather than an object, and then create an instance later down, but I don't know if that is actually possible, or if it is poor programming style.

Right so I have my ItemsPage Jframe Class and I'm trying to pass my TotalPrice variable to my CashPay so I can calculate the change. CashPrice runs and works but when I try run ItemsPage it does nothing I don't even get errors. I tried to remove that small section of trying to pass the variable to CashPay and it worked perfectly so I 100% know that's the problem. This section "public ItemsPage() { Pounds = ""; //super();
Scanner sc = new Scanner(System.in);
CashPay sendTotalPrice = new CashPay();
//System.out.println("Enter your amount");
TotalPrice = sc.nextDouble();
sendTotalPrice.printTotalPrice(TotalPrice);
"
Here is complete code for both classes, I'm using GUI builder.
import java.awt.BorderLayout;
import java.awt.Checkbox;
import java.awt.GridBagConstraints;
import java.awt.GridBagLayout;
import java.awt.Insets;
import java.awt.event.ActionEvent;

Model View Controller design pattern I completely understand then I was told about the observer controller pattern. After reading and reading I and watching video clips on youtube explaining it I have a question:
Isn't the actionListener the observer so to speak. It is firing whatever action it is told to do and dynamically updates the program to.
Example, I have a JButtons and a JTextArea. I press the button and it gives the current stock price of some stock, I press it again it refreshes. Sounds like an observer to me... Am i on the right track here?

I'm running spring MVC on a tomcat server and am fiddling around with beans and annotations.
First, I have a class Library, with a registerBook(<T> Book) method. This one is annotated with @BookRegistry
Next, I have an Interface Book, which basically is a bean with some custom methods.
I will create different types of books that implement my Book interface and annotate them with @LibraryBook
Now, I want to have spring to check for all beans with @LibraryBook at server startup and run registerBook for each and every one.
How do I accomplish this?

My requirement is to display a table containing multiple rows and multiple columns. and row headers must be link type and that table should be retrieved dynamically from db where the values entered by the admin. this is the user view. and am new to spring. unable to implement this. my demo is on monday and i need to show the demo to survive in this job. I had given the link. but am unable to implement by seeing that also because it has no complete code which is my actual requirement. Code should be written in controllers, pojo, dao's, jsp's etc... URL....
In my code am unable to get in one table. So I went with alternative that to come each row and 3 columns in one table... 4 rows 4 different tables I did... but it was not my requirement. I used embedded to get that...in my pojo I wrote
@Embedded private BaseCost baseCost;
@Embedded private OtherCharges otherCharges;
@Embedded private PreferentialLocationalCharges preferentialLocationalCharges;
@Embedded private CarParking carParking;
and each embedded one i have created 4 pojo's where i wrote column headers. get it all in one table view with 4 row headers and 3 column headers but this is not my requirement...

create an application following the MVC pattern. My frame is composed of a JTable with some JComboBox and classic next/previous buttons to page the table. The table shows data of current accounts of the members of a family. My problem is figuring out how the controller interacts with the view, for example to enable / disable buttons or reset and reload the data in the comboboxes. In the view class all the graphical components are private instance variables. What is the best approach to ensure that the controller can act on them?
I need to create in the view public methods to act on each component like getSelectedItemAccountCombo, getSelectedItemYearsCombo, getSelectedItemMonthCombo, populateAccountCombo (ArrayList <String> list), setNextButton (boolean b) ... and so on (I think that the methods would be many ...) This approach does not convince me because I think that the class is fouled by procedures that should be in the controller class.

I do Java for decades, but am a FXML beginner. Currently I do FXMLLoader.load(fxmlFile) in Application.start(), which is working well. My Application instance is creating a background thread in Application.init() which feeds several custom application properties with incoming data taken from a remote model (wrapping a sensor hardware). Some of my windows shall later be able to access those properties. So the question is: How can I inject my Application instance into the FXMLLoader-created controller instances auto-bound to the FXML-created Scene instances?

I want to install a binding between the scroll pane's pref. size and the stage's pref. size. Since the scroll pane field reside in the FXMLController class I need a way to access this field.

I am working on an project in which some data needs to be received through socket , do some processing on it and then store on the database. After that it will display on GUI. GUI should be updated automatically.
I am able to implement basic model in which data is storing in the database and displayed then on the GUI. I tried to implement MVC design patter as well.
Now i need to create a GUI which can be used by several users at a time means several jvm session for the GUI. I got struck at this point.
Some detail: i have one jvm session in which i am receiving , processing and storing the data. Now i want to fire an alert whenever any new entry is made into the database. Also each time new GUI is opened it should be registered with the model so that model send updated data alert to all this users.
When i am trying to open several GUI and trying to register with the Model then it is not increasing count of registered user. For each time it is showing 1 count only and whenever a new entry is made count is showing 0. Is it because both are running in different jvm sessions ?
Some code for the model which is running in different package and jvm
GUI..
private void runApp() {
//some gui code
WindowListenerClass windowListener = new WindowListenerClass(this);
frame.addWindowListener(windowListener)
//registering viewer with the model
Model.setNewAlarmEvent(this);
tableModel = windowListener.getDefaultTableModel();

JLabel characterLabel = new JLabel("Character: ");
JComboBox<String> characterComboBox = new JComboBox<String>();
characterLabel.setMinimumSize(characterComboBox.getMinimumSize());

and I have attached an image of the results.
Why are the drop down boxes not stretched to the right all the way and why are they so tall?
