I am trying to do this assignment but I can't get the needed output.
Create a program that asks the user how many floating point numbers he wants to give. After this the program asks the numbers, stores them in an array and prints the contents of the array in reverse order.
Program is written to a class called ReverseNumbers.
Example output
How many floating point numbers do you want to type: 5
Type in 1. number: 5,4 Type in 2. number: 6 Type in 3. number: 7,2 Type in 4. number: -5 Type in 5. number: 2
Given numbers in reverse order:
2.0 -5.0 7.2 6.0 5.4
Java Code:
import java.util.Scanner; public class apples { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner reader = new Scanner(System.in); double[] numbers;
But resource.returnString(r); gives a org.apache.jasper.JasperException: java.lang.NullPointerException I started the glassfish server in debug mode and found out that "resource" was null. but @PostConstruct in singleton does print which means singleton bean exists.
Can we call singleton beans with no interface in such a way form a session bean? I actually want to acquire instance of singleton bean when a client invokes method in Client bean...
I'm new to JSP but I've to use it to grab data coming from an external site, pass data to a Bean, write data in a DB and redirect the user to another page. Follow the JSP page.
<%@page import="EJB.getResponse"%> <% long paymentID = Long.parseLong(request.getParameter("paymentid")); String responsecode = "9999"; getResponse g = new getResponse();
[Code] ....
This is the bean:
@ManagedBean @RequestScoped public class getResponse implements Serializable { private Long paymentId; private String result; private String auth;
[Code] ....
On the console I see the prints but I receive the NullPointerException
WARNING: StandardWrapperValve[jsp]: PWC1406: Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception java.lang.NullPointerException at EJB.getResponse.printData(getResponse.java:72) at org.apache.jsp.notify_jsp._jspService(notify_jsp.java from :60) at org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspBase.service(HttpJspBase.java:111)
Any method of viewing the contents of an .ISO in java. my searches so far have said to use the java api loopy but I cant find hardly any information on it and i have been unable to use it correctly so far. If there is no way to just view the .ISO file contents then extracting its contents and then viewing them would also be fine how to do that.

I have to write a program that calculates the average temperature for a month using parallel arrays (it is mandatory to use a parallel array). I'm new to Java (I'm more familiar with C++) so I get confused with the use of methods. I know how to compute the averages already, I just setting up the parallel arrays. This is what I have so far:
Java Code:
import javax.swing.*; import java.util.Scanner; public class Temperature { public static void main(String[] args) { String[] day = {"Monday", "Tuesday", "Wednesday", "Thursday", "Friday", "Saturday", "Sunday"}; int[] temp = new int [7];
[Code] .....
For now I just want to show the contents in my array before I start computing averages.
I got the correct output here. But now I want to generalize my method into a utility class so that I can reuse the same method for setting response data directly to respective beans as given below:-
My question is how will I pass the bean object in my utility class?
public static Object getResponseData(String response,[b]String bean[/b]) throws Exception { ObjectMapper mapper = new ObjectMapper(); mapper.configure(DeserializationConfig.Feature.FAIL_ON_UNKNOWN_PROPERTIES, false); JsonNode root = mapper.readTree(response);
To compile this code(Something.java) from command line I want to use the following command,
javac org/apache/Something.class
And for the compilation to be successful, I'll have to be just above bin-folder because...
- > Only then my default class path will be (.) and java would automatically include A.jar and B.jar(the other way is to add the jar files using -cp argument, which I want to avoid in this scenario)
- > And for the import org.mycompanyX to work I'll have to be in the (.) directory.
Are my assumptions correct about how java find jar contents imported in a source file?
I got a project at my university , and we are working with JBoss with the free version WildFly .And also with Java EE.
Now the application is a simple game of Battle Ships or sinking ships to be honest i am not sure as to how the game is actually called.
Registering a user and saving his or her information is not hard using a Stateless java bean , to save the data in the database.
I have a Stateful java bean for every user , the bean is created on the server side after the user succeeds in logging in to the game.
This bean is used mainly for sending an invite from one user to another , to log out the user and everything else that is needed for the user.
The main problem that i encountered here is that JBoss dose not let me have a reference on my frame inside of the bean.
This makes things hard because i would need to use a Timer to ask the bean every second or so if there is an invite from someone , and i would need to save all of the invites .
This was the only thing i could think of .And also implementing the game it self , the communication between users would be complicated more so than i think its needed.
Then my professor said that i could make a service on the clients side in witch i would have a reference of the JFrame , and i could send this service to the java bean and using this service i could get access to the JFrame making things faster.
This would make things a lot easier.For the invite and for the game itself too.
My professor explained that JBoss or WildFly is based on RMI , and he said also that i would need to set up the registry on the server side .But i got lost because i was not sure as to what should i search for .
We are using an older version of WildFly not the newest but one version older , CR1 i think.
And we are also using JPA in the Dynamic web project , server .
I will detailedly explain my requirement below,. I am going to automate a manual process. I will be reading multiple CSV files from a remote location using java.There are five formats of input files are expected, each differs in their header structure. For example, Type 1 - Number, ID, Name, Phone, Address...Type 2 - Number, GID, Employee Name, Address1, Address2, Phone number and so the other three types are also differs.
The precondition is not all the files are expected for a particular run. I need to read these files one by one, validate it, log the validation error and i have to consolidate all the correct data from all the files together in a standard output format, in a single file The standard output format will be like,Number, Name, ID, Address
I need to have the above data alone in the output file and rest of the data can be ignored.What i have tried is as follows, I have created 5 bean classes representing each type's header. I just read an input, identify its type and parsed it. I parsed line by line.
public String[] parseCSV(String inputLine){ try { String[] fields;
Pattern p = Pattern.compile(",(?=([^"]*"[^"]*")*(?![^"]*"))"); fields = p.split(inputLine); /*for ( int i = 0; i < fields.length; i++ ) { System.out.println(fields[i]); }*/
[code]...
I have validated as per the validation rules and i appended each line elements into an object. I have added all the objects in to a MAP collection. Likewise, i have created 5 beans and did the same.But, what is the change needed now is,. All the headers in all the five types of rosters are configurable items. hence, i have to change my bean classes everytime when the header structures are changed.
We have to create one single utility, which is configurable for all the five types of input files. To be very clear, if type 1 input comes with 8 columns and type 3 comes with 12 columns, the utility is able to parse it.
We are going to have a table which has the data regarding the header structure of all the five types of inputs alone. Once i read a file and identify its type, i will hit the database and read the header structure of that particular type and its column count. I will match the column count with the input file's header count and i will have to proceed creating a bean class on runtime depending upon the header structure read now. I will validate and consolidate as i did above. The requirement is, Runtime configuration of bean class, depending upon the type of input.
I've got a CDI bean which is a facade for a JPA entity. Such entity has got a many to one relationship with itself and I've got the following method:
public Set<Account> getChildren() { return this.children; }
which is called in a JSF/Facelets page:
<h:commandLink action="#{accountController.destroy}" value="#{bundle.ListAccountDestroyLink}" rendered="#{item.children.size() == 0}"/>I then decided to return an unmodifiable set and changed getChildren() accordingly: public Set<Account> getChildren() { return Collections.unmodifiableSet(children); }
The page now reports this error:
java.lang.IllegalAccessException: Class javax.el.BeanELResolver can not access a member of class java.util.Collections$UnmodifiableCollection with modifiers "public" at sun.reflect.Reflection.ensureMemberAccess(Reflection.java:65) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:588)
[Code] ....
javax.el.BeanELResolver is incorrectly failing because it's trying to invoke the size() method using reflection without correctly taking into account the method visibility (which is indeed invokable programmatically). I'm running NetBeans 6.8, Glassfish 3.0 and jdk1.6.0_17.
I have a project I am currently working on using Primefaces and MySQL. I have a page that will display information queried from the database. I have textfields that will display the data from a given record. But I want to ensure that the displayed data cannot be altered. I decided on disabling the textfields unless the create or edit button were clicked. At which point all textfields will be enabled for editing, and cleared if create button was clicked. I want to push the disabling/enabling of the elements back to a managed bean, but I want to have the bean take in two lists or arrays, one containing all elements by ID and one containing a list of exempt elements. Is there a way I can create a List or Array of the ID's that I can send to the bean? I know little in Javascript and previous attempts to implement it have met with little success.
I want to create a list that would contain all and another that would contain the exemptions such as searchField, searchCriteria, searchButton, projectList and viewButton. The actual exemption list is far smaller than the list of all children. I have found sources that can disable the elements with a java bean, but I have not been able to find one that would allow me to define those that should and should not be disabled, then vice versa for enabling.
I have tried this example ([URL].../) with CarDao extending the BaseDao, it works like a charm.However, from the CarDao class, my NetBeans underlined the class name “CarDao” with the error message “A session bean must not extend another session bean.” But I can compile, deploy and run the application without any problem.
I have also heard that a session bean cannot extend another session bean, but why it works here?
I am using Java EE 6, NetBeans 8.0.1 and WebLogic 12c for this code testing.
package com.arraydemo; import java.util.TimeZone; import java.util.concurrent.TimeUnit; public class ArrayStructures { public long[] theArray; public int arraySize; public ArrayStructures(int size)
Basically the class is supposed to have a static variable that keeps track of the number of companies (numberOfCompanies) that have been created and a static method that returns the value of this variable. I need to have a constructor and a method to addEmployee, a method to printCompany, and a toString method. The addEmployee method will check that there is only 1 salesperson, 2 designers, and 4 manufacturing persons at a time and will check that there are no more than 7 employees of the company.
The addEmployee method will return a String indicating what the error is (i.e. "There is already a sales person in this company") or a null if the employee was added. If attempting to name a third company, an error message will be shown. what i have so far but my print company mmethod returns null company class :in which i am obliged to use inputdialog because it says that it cannot return void when i use the showmeassage diaolog.
company class:
import java.util.ArrayList; import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class Company { private ArrayList<Employees> list ; private static int numberOfCompanies;
[Code] ....
error message when print button is clicked:
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.RuntimeException: JOptionPane: parentComponent does not have a valid parent at javax.swing.JOptionPane.createInternalFrame(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JOptionPane.showInternalOptionDialog(Unknown Source) at javax.swing.JOptionPane.showInternalMessageDialog(Unknown Source)
I am currently working on a java project, this involves me writing some code for a project, below are my attempts at coding so far:
/** * Prints out details of all animal in the zoo. * */ public void printAllAnimals() { System.out.println(" Details for all animals in Zoo " + zooId); System.out.println( "==================================");
[code]....
I currently cannot get the printallanimals() method to work as it should when executing the method printallanimals it just opens a filedialog box, when it is suppose to use the Collection object c,so that animals stored in the zoo can easily be checked.
1) Use socket programming (i was able to connect to that ip and port but of no use? how to get data ??)
2) A lot of forums suggest the JNI or JNA way.. which i tried out and accomplished a connection to the port.
But the problem was the appoarch i used in JNA which only supports the loading of C/C++ dll files... not C# dll.... the BioMetric Finger Print device is coded in C#...
I am trying to create a java file that will print out the temperature in Fahrenheit. This is my code.
import java.util.Scanner; public class TemperatureConverter { public static void main(String[] args) { float temperature; Scanner in= new Scanner(System.in); System.out.printf("Enter temperature in degrees Celsius: "); temperature = in.nextInt(); //Getting a red X next to this line. fahrenheit = temperature * 9/5 +32; //Add this line System.out.printf(+temperature + " degrees Celsius is " + fahrenheit + " degrees Fahrenheit."); //System.out.println(temp1 + " degrees celsius is " + fahrenheit + " degrees Fahrenheit."); } }
I need to know what I am doing wrong. Using Eclipse as my platform. I have entered comments where I am getting red X's.
The error I get when I run the program.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problems: fahrenheit cannot be resolved to a variable fahrenheit cannot be resolved to a variable at TemperatureConverter.main(TemperatureConverter.jav a:24)
I am developing a program in netbeans forms. I've got to a point where I will click a jButton to print the content of either JFrame or JPanel. I am using Netbeans forms to develop the project....
public static void main(String[] args) { String[] a = new String[5]; //String input = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "enter input"); Scanner scanner = new Scanner(System.in);
[Code] ....
I am trying to type in 5 strings from java console and print them all out. I am using a "/" as a delimiter. My problem is that it does not print any output after I type strings separated by "/" like this: hello/gea/cae/eaf/aer and press enter. It works if I use JOptionPane but from the console its not working. I want to use the console instead of JOptionPane for this one.
