I have the following simple "selectManyCheckbox" specified in my jsf page:-
<h:selectManyCheckbox id="animalsmc" layout="pageDirection" value="#{animalSelectionBean.selectedAnimals}">
<f:selectItem itemValue="1" itemLabel="Lion"/>
<f:selectItem itemValue="2" itemLabel="Tiger"/>
<f:selectItem itemValue="3" itemLabel="Elephant"/>

I have the following specified in my bean class:-
private int [] selectedAnimals;
...
public int[] getSelectedAnimals() {
return selectedAnimals;
}
public void setSelectedAnimals(int[] selectedAnimals) {
this.selectedAnimals = selectedAnimals;
}
I would like to know how to display the values of selected checkboxes on the JSF page after submitting the form? I tried outputtext, however it displays the object and not the values. I cannot even frame the outputformat for the same.
import java.util.Scanner;
public class Exercise1{
public static void main(String[] args) {
String employeeName, employeeNumber, position, department ;
double otpay, salary, deduction, hrs, rate ;
Scanner input = new Scanner (System.in);
[Code] ....
That's my codes but its wrong according to our prof. it should be in frame form. i don't know how to do it since i did not encountered framing since i was started in java.

I have a textField in which I have text in. The text is enter customer name. I would like for this text to disappear whenever the user clicks on the textField to enter a customer name. I am using the automated swing gui builder in NetBeans. Is their some sort of feature for this under properties of the text field? If not then what are my other options?
View Replies View RelatedI'm working on a simple text editor, and I'm currently saving the contents of my JTextPane in a file using an HTMLEditorKit (text is a JTextPane):
private void save() throws IOException {
int returnVal = fc.showSaveDialog(window);
if (returnVal == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION) {
StyledDocument doc = (StyledDocument)text.getDocument();
HTMLEditorKit kit = new HTMLEditorKit();
BufferedOutputStream out;
[Code] ....
The problem I'm having is that after opening a file that I saved, it does not display (if I disable text/html, it displays the entire html code, but when I re-enable it, nothing displays at all.) Am I loading it wrong, or am I setting the JTextPane's text incorrectly? Or is it, perhaps, another error that I didn't catch?

I am new to java(beginner) and i am not aware of servlets, yet to learn i want a simple login app using swing in 3tire arch using pojos.
View Replies View Relatedwe have deployed application on web sphere server and using servlets and jsp only.
View Replies View RelatedI am making a shopping cart app in JSP and servlets to bring it all together. Finally.
I have a registration servlet (c1), a registration form jsp (c2), a login jsp (c3). c1 checks if a username is in the database or not.
If the username is not there, then register the user and send them to c3. I want c3 to display a "registration successful" message if a user has just registered successfully and is coming from c1. ELSE, take the user back to c2 with a message which tells them to choose a different username or password etc.
How do I implement the logic of showing a message depending on where a user is coming from ? The servlets and jsps are ready and I only need to add this logic for a custom message. Of course, I could make a JSP for Registration Successful and one for Registration Failure. But, that seems to be unnecessary.
I have a form containing several fields, 2 of which persist to different table in a database than the rest of the fields on the form. I have no problem persisting the data into both tables of the database, and after the form is submitted I reset the form to its default values. That all works fine.
But in the same session, when I open another form (a search form) and enter search criteria, which then displays a datatable containing the search results, those 2 values that are persisted to another table are not showing up, but the rest of the data is.
Here is the method that calls the persist methods:
@ManagedBean(name = "foreignPartyController")
@SessionScoped
public class ForeignPartyController implements Serializable {
...
public void saveData() {
[Code].....
The values do show up, but the problem is, when a subsequent form is opened in the same session (e.g. a search form) the field for that value shows the actual value, instead of the field being blank.'
I am not sure why the data from the one database ("parent") is showing up, yet the data from the other database ("child") is not.
Is it something I am doing wrong? I thought by setting the setter in the child controller class back to a new instance of the Entity class (PolicyPayment) that it would reset the form to default values, but at the same time retain (or save) the inputted values in the same session.
I am building a chat server/client and would like to have it so when a user sends a message, the message pops up in the main chat area beside their name, which I would like to be in bold font. Something like "Alan: Hello, how are you?". I can't find a way to do this with a text area or on a string. Do any swing components suitable for use as text areas support bolding of certain sections of the string that you will set to it?
View Replies View RelatedI need to put a Web Page in my JFrame application , I got a lot codes on the internet and could implement without problems , but the problem is that this code has an ugly page as hell, with colored all wrong and with a very poor quality , one of code I used was this :
* import javax.swing . ;
{ public class SwingWebPage
public static void main ( String args [ ] ) throws Exception {
JEditorPane website = new JEditorPane ( " http://www.google.com/ " ) ;
website.setEditable ( false) ;
[code]...
If you test , you'll see that the page is displayed in the JFrame is horrible.
I have a button on UI which adds messages and when the user clicks on it the form gets submitted, meanwhile the user is clicking on refresh(F5) multiple times which is causing the same message to be displayed multiple times. To resolve this , I am converting the form from a synchronous submit to Asychronous but it is still not working. Below is the code:
Code before:
<td><input class="buttonred" type="submit" value="Confirm Add" name="submit_message"></td>
<s:form action="upd-message" method="POST" validate="true" onsubmit="validateMsg();return false;" enctype="multipart/form-data">
function validateMsg() {
var frm = document.forms["upd-message"];
frm.actionType.value=message;
