How To Utilize Google Directions API In Java Swing Program
Mar 13, 2015
I am making a program which will have the user enter their location (by postcode) into the GUI (Swing).
I want to use Google's Directions API [URL] .... to find directions from this user input address to another address. However, I have never gone about using external APIs before and even going as far as installing the necessary files on my system to get started is getting complicated.
How do I go about using this API in my own application? I have tried following the tutorials (e.g. [URL] .....) but I suspect I may even be using the wrong tutorial (I am seeing references saying that the client thing is depreciated).
my web browser isn't displaying any web page. When I create the method editorPane.setPage(), it takes forever (about 20 seconds) to show nothing. It'll load the web browser after the 20 seconds of waiting. Here is my code:
public class Browser extends JInternalFrame {
/** * */ private static final long serialVersionUID = 4589041456161585394L; public Browser() { super("Browser", true, true); this.setLayout(new BorderLayout()); this.setVisible(true); this.setSize(Desktop.getSingletonInstance().getWidth(), Desktop.getSingletonInstance().getHeight());
A program to create a class that contains a method that accepts compass directions and displays the same. You need to ensure that the method must accept any one of the directions: NORTH, SOUTH, EAST, WEST, NORTHEAST, SOUTHEAST, SOUTHWEST or NORTHWEST.
How to upload file to google drive using java. my java code is.
HttpTransport httpTransport = new NetHttpTransport(); JsonFactory jsonFactory = new JacksonFactory(); GoogleAuthorizationCodeFlow flow = new GoogleAuthorizationCodeFlow.Builder( httpTransport, jsonFactory, CLIENT_ID, CLIENT_SECRET, Arrays.asList(DriveScopes.DRIVE)) .setAccessType("online") .setApprovalPrompt("auto").build();
[Code] ....
So in that file object(java.io.File fileContent = new java.io.File("document.txt");) asking complete file path. But in file upload we can get only file name not path.
I'm trying to create contact information as object and another object as parcel then calculate the shipping fee. Problem is I don't have a good understanding in implementing object type to my code. Attached are what I've done and I know that my constructor in my parcel class and contact class are probably wrong too but I don't know what to do with it.
//contact class public class Contact { private String Name; private String Address; private String City; private String State; private double Xco; private double Yco;
So I am supposed to be changing infix notation to postfix notation using stacks. This is simply taking a string "3 + 5 * 6" (infix) and turning it into (3 5 6 * +" (postfix).
To do this, we are to scan the string from left to right and when we encounter a number, we just add it to the final string, but when we encounter an operand, we throw it on the stack. Then if the next operand has a higher input precedence than the stack precedence of the operator on the top of the stack, we add that operator to the stack too, otherwise we pop from the stack THEN add the new operator.
I am supposed to be utilizing a hash map but I don't see how you would go about doing this. We are supposed to store operators on the hash map but operators need their own character, input precedence, stack precedence, and rank. How do you use a hash map when you need to tie a character to 3 values instead of just 1? I just don't get it.
The following is our Operator class that we are to use. Another problem is this isn't really supposed to be modified, yet we were given two important variables (inputPrecedence and outputPrecedence) that we can't have nothing to be initialized to and no way of accessing? So that might be where a hash map comes in but I am not sure. I am not very sure on how they exactly work anyway...
public class Operator implements Comparable<Operator> { public char operator; // operator privateint inputPrecedence; // input precedence of operator in the range [0, 5] privateint stackPrecedence; // stack precedence of operator in the range [-1, 3]
[Code] ....
So my question mostly revolves around how I tie an Operator character to its required values, so I can use it in my code to test two operators precedence values.
My original thought was turn string into character array, but then I would need nested for/while loops to check if it is a number or letter, or if it is an operator and thus result in O(n^2) time
I've looking for information on taking a range of data from a google sheet such as the one below.

The function that i'm trying to accomplish is allowing a user to run the program and input their 5-digit Unique - ID. After inputting their 5-Digit ID the program will take that input, and check whether or not that ID is present on the spreadsheet.
Ex: (Using the numbers from above) I type in : "89504" then (I would want the program to spit out if the ID is on the sheet). (89504 appears on the sheet) So i would want it to print out something like "ID is found on list "Cat". Associated named include: "Phil Roberts".
I tried, with my limited knowledge, to create what I have described above.
import java.io.*; import java.util.*; public class SwitchesTwo { public static void main(String args[]) { System.out.println("Welcome to the ID # Checker"); System.out.println("Enter the ID of the person you are trying to verify");
[Code].....
The issue I have with the mock-up above is the fact that I have to manually add in every individual name and ID. I would much rather write code that would allow it to update as I update the spreadsheet. Therefore, no need for 800+ cases. (theres around 800 ID numbers for this project)
In a perfect world, the code would be something like "Take info from cells C5 - C2000 and store as string array" (I think array would work.) while also doing the same with B5 - B2000.
I'm trying to integrate google reverse geocoding address into my jsf application. I would like to be able to enter a postcode and hit a 'Find Address' button to bring me back all the addresses within that location. I have attempted the script below just to get something working in html then build a jsf2 page up. The results that I keep getting back are for a specific building rather than a list of houses within the same street. I think this is because I'm using the lat/long.
At this point I know how to utilize Google Maps within Android but it always seems to take up the full window, there is an image below which shows what I'm attempting to accomplish (having a box below the Google maps where I can store text i.e. "Hello World"
How do I add box below Google Maps, so to store text i.e. "Hello World"
Code so far:
ActivityMain:
Java Code:
public class MainActivity extends Activity { private GoogleMap googleMap; @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
I'm getting an IllegalArgumentException returned when I try to get a file using guava library.
I previously had the function working when the file was in a different location, before I switched to running JBehave, my steps run but it fails to find the resource, even after I've moved it.
The code being executed is (this worked previously before using JBehave):
The file I'm looking for is in the root folder for src/main/resources and also src/test/resources, previously I had it within a completely different location before I switched over to JBehave. I've tried it within a subdirectory in the same locations too.
I've recently updated the pom.xml to try to include the location required.
Have written a program to open Excel sheet from java program.Below line works fine.
Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[]{""C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft OfficeOffice12Excel.EXE"","C:UsersRASHPA~ 1.ORAAppDataLocalTempExport_xl420314062726 9379706.xls"});
But below code gives error i.e. Executable name has embedded quote, split the arguments
I'm creating a program that will compile and run another java program:Lets say I have a program in directory
D:HelloWorldsrc and compiled program will be in D:HelloWorldin inside src and bin is a folder hello (that's a package)
package hello; public class HelloWorld { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Hello World"); System.out.println("Hello World"); } }
This program will be run by another program (that's the program that I am creating).Here is the code of my program:
package runnercompiler; import java.io.IOException; import java.io.InputStream; import java.util.logging.Level; import java.util.logging.Logger; public final class RunnerCompiler {
I cannot get my panels to appear in my GUI when I run my program. There is probably a really simple fix for this but it is taking me hours. This program is a working progress and I have just included two classes out of five. That should be adequate to diag my problem.
import javax.swing.*; import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; public class OrderCalc extends JFrame { private final int WINDOW_WIDTH = 200; private final int WINDOW_HEIGHT = 200;
I have a practice exercise here wherein I will add a JOptionPane to a program. When the close button is clicked, the JOptionPane will appear asking the user to exit the program. If the user clicks "Yes," it'll, of course, close the entire program and not just the JOptionPane, but if the user clicks "No," it will return to the program. Please refer to my code below:
try { output = new DataOutputStream(new FileOutputStream("ProjSixExe4.dat")); } catch(IOException ex) { this.dispatchEvent(new WindowEvent(this, WindowEvent.WINDOW_CLOSING)) } final JOptionPane optionpane = new JOptionPane("Are you sure you want to quit this program?", JOptionPane.QUESTION_MESSAGE, JOptionPane.YES_NO_OPTION); this.setDefaultCloseOperation(WindowConstants.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
The exercise said it must be placed before the EXIT_ON_CLOSE portion.
I'm writing a Java Swing program for my software development class to allow a user to create a map for a side scroller video game. I'm stuck on a particular part of my GUI where I'm trying to create a properties box for specific tiles. When I draw the components onto the JPanel and display it as it is, it shows two check boxes per row. On the ScrollPane however, all the check boxes go straight onto one line and draw out the scroll pane. Right now I am only concerned with just making the basic GUI.
Here is what I have so far:
Within the main class, I am creating the JFrame and adding components to it. I am attempting to create a JScrollPane which will hold the properties check boxes...
Here is the method where I am implementing the code. It works, but it doesn't display correctly.
private void createPropertiesBox() { PropertiesBoxPanel pbp = new PropertiesBoxPanel(); propertiesBox = new JScrollPane(pbp); propertiesBox.setViewportView(pbp); frame.add(propertiesBox);
[Code] .....
I've been tinkering with this code for quite some time now and I cannot seem to make a breakthrough on how to fix this.
I want to develop a Java program that uses OpenScript APIs to test my applications. The OpenScript framework automatically creates the Java Code so I was thinking of either using this code or create my own using the APIs.
I tried both options using NetBeans but I'm getting errors everywhere starting with the library import. I'm pretty new to Java so I'm sure I'm missing a lot of things here. I pasted the code below from the OpenScript framework that want to use in a stand-alone file for your reference.,
I am trying to make a game with an image on it, and I have one class that gets the image and the other is the game. When I run the program, it just shows my image on a gray JFrame. This leads me to think the image might be covering my whole game, which is weird because it is a mostly transparent image. I have tried resizing it and everything but I don't know what to do..
I have a program that records and reruns network traffic. It was developed in C and runs in my case under Windows 7 Professional but will run almost anywhere. I have observed a lack of stability.
First I have a JAVA stand alone GUI program that runs the program as follows:
g11_bttn_start_script_capture.addSelectionListener(new SelectionAdapter() { @Override public void widgetSelected(SelectionEvent e) {
I am currently writing a small drawing program and I am having trouble with changing the size of the shapes. To do this, I have to access the arraylist shapes, check whether pressedX/pressedY is on any of the shapes in the arraylist using the findShape() method and then when released, uses moveBy() in the Rectangle/Oval/Line class and moveShape() in the miniDraw class to move the shape and draw it in the newreleasedX/releasedY position.
So far I think I have pin pointed the problem to being the method in all the shapes classes, that checks whether the pressedX/pressedY which is the on() method, and the findShape() method in the miniDraw class.
