I/O / Streams :: Generate File Tree Structure Of Mounted Unix File System

Apr 22, 2014

I am creating a web application that runs on server X(unix) and it has another unix system mounted on it. I want to generate the file tree structure of this mounted unix file system and show it on to a web application so that users can select a file and move it onto this current unix machine.

I know this sounds stupid and you may want to say why cant we directly copy the file, I am doing a proof of concept and using this as a basis.

I need to generate a file in Java with Unix TimeStamp. Want to generate an ordered list of Data entry objects for a defined period of time e.g., getData (long startTimeStamp, endTimeStamp, long resolution).

1) I would like to generate resolution with random numbers by using Random class.

2) How to take Start and end timestamps to generate a file (i.e., writing into a file).

How to do draw the original binary tree based on traversal results?

A binary tree has this pre-order traversal result: A,B,D,H,I,E,F,C,G,K,J (TreeNodes) And the same tree gives the following in-order traversal: B,H,I,D,A,C,F,E,K,G,J. Can you draw the tree structure?

Let's say I have a text file and in the text file exists file directories as such:

'assets/picture1.png'
'assets/picture2.png'

And so on...

How would I then read from this text file and then create those files using 'new File()'?

Here is my code:

private void getFiles() throws IOException{
files = new File[10];
Scanner scan = new Scanner(new File("files.dat"));
int count = -1;

[Code]....

It does print out those files, but it doesn't create them.

Servlets :: File Is Located In Root Directory Of Project But System Cannot Find File Specified

(The system cannot find the file specified)

My file is located in the root directory of the project.

And here is how I indicate the path to it:

String filePath = "default.jpg";
InputStream inputStream = new FileInputStream(new File(filePath));

If I put the file in the Eclipse folder, it works... But I need it to work if I put it in my project's root folder.

Read Binary Unix File With Java?

Jan 24, 2014

I have a unix program that simulates an accident evolving as a function of time and produces two files. I will focus on the first file before getting to the second. This first file has five output variables/vectors (velocity vs time, pressure vs time, etc), which are selected as part of the simulation input. These are the variables I have to put into Excel if I want to view the transient graphically. Where it gets tedious is that, if I want to view a different set of five variables, I have to rerun, extract, put these in Excel to plot. There can be lots of variables needed to properly characterize the accident.

The second file produced is a really large binary file. This file contains all the information that I'd need, precluding the need to rerun to view a different set of output variables. This is the file that seems tailor-made for a Java or something to be able to extract the information. That is, it seems like Java could be used to do this work: extract variable information from the large binary file. Eventually, I would like to plot it too and I know I could use Java there.

I think my steps are:

1) understand the format of my binary file
2) reconfigure the binary file for use with java (is this demuxing?)
3) learn java programming for this application: extracting information to produce something like a .csv file with time on the leftmost column and variable information populating the rest of the columns.

Build Tree Structure From Array In Java

May 31, 2014

I never used tree, node etc. Consider an array of strings that come from html tags. This needs to be turned into a tree structure. Here, any Hn is the child of the most recent Hn-1

String[] Headers = {"H1", "H1", "H2", "H3", "H3", "H2", "H2", "H3",
"H4", "H2", "H2", "H2", "H1", "H2", "H2", "H3", "H4", "H4", "H2" };

Desired output -

ROOT
H1
H1
...H2
......H3
......H3
...H2
...H2
......H3
.........H4
...H2
...H2
...H2
H1
...H2
...H2
......H3
.........H4
.........H4
...H2

ANSWER -

class Example {
static class Node {
final String name;
final int indent;
Collection<Node> children = new LinkedList<> ();

Remember File Structure On Subsequent Openings?

Mar 12, 2014

I have a program I am working on, and have been using the following code:

Java Code:

private void checkQInstall(){
try {
qs = new File("C:MEMORYGAMEq.bin");
in = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(qs));
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
System.out.println("CALLED");

[Code] .....

Now my main issue is I am working on a project that could be used on a variety of systems. I understand that Java is designed for flexibility among OS's and that the way I have coded is designed for a Windows system (afaik). How to retain an installation directory so that on subsequent openings, the program knows where to open the file, without it being platform dependent.

I would like to create a component to detect the file being modify before process.is it the right way to detect the file modification based on file size value?

Below are the flow:

1. Get the file size of a file
2. Used file size value encrypt it with MD5 algorithm, and say it generated us encrypted value "0123sdf"
3. to avoid user modify the file content, before file process, we take the file and do the encryption with md5 again, if it return value "0123sdf", then we are sure it doesn't have modification.

my question:
a. is it the right approach to detect file modification?
b. what the library advise to use or using java.security.DigestInputStream will do?

Swing/AWT/SWT :: How To Generate PDF File Of The Contents In AWT Frame

Sep 25, 2014

I have been doing a project of ERP solution using JAVA AWT FRAMES and MYSQL(for database purpose). Here there is an ADMIN portion, who has the authority to make PAYROLLS of individual employees. There is a Frame where individual employee details will be shown(like basic salary, HRA, no.of leaves, other allowances...etc) in text boxes.

Now what i want is to make a PDF file of that payroll, so that I can make a hardcopy of it. The idea is just like anyother online form fill-up, where at the end you submit and save (or export) as a PDF (or text file) document. But I mention that it is a stanalone project, not an online one (i think it doesn't matter though).

So the basic idea is how to make a PDF file by extracting the text field or choice contents from a frame in JAVA AWT.

Generate JAR File To Distribute Having Multiple Projects

Jan 20, 2015

I have an application separated into three different projects - core, command line version and Web UI version.

Core contains all the business logic in several services classes. Command line version and Web UI version both uses the core project services.

Command line have main class which call services from core. Web UI version is Spring base application using same services from core.

Java Code:

CoreProject
- src
- Service Classes (code here use thirdParty jars and core_file.txt)
- lib
- thirdParty.jar
- core_file.txt mh_sh_highlight_all('java');

[Code] ....

Now I want to give two separate versions to client.

Command line version to run as service in Windows andUI version to deploy in their server.

With above structure I create the cmdline.jar but when I am trying to run with

Java Code: java -jar cmdline.jar mh_sh_highlight_all('java');

I am getting java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError exception for the service classes in core. So my question is how to pack/generate jar for this kind of distribution?

JavaFX 2.0 :: How To Generate Import Tag In FXML File

Jul 16, 2014

Whenever I use a control inside an .fxml file like:

<Label></Label>, <TableView></TableView>, etcera ...

I get an exception for example:

Label is not a valid type., TableView is not a valid Type., etcera

This exception I then solve with placing an import tag inside the .fxml file.

However as I do not know each import name, I have to look this up like writing down:

Label label = new Label();

inside a class and then place my cursor on it to see which import name Eclipse generates.

This import name i then put inside the .fxml file with <? import ?> beginning and end tags with question marks around it.

Is there anyways to automatically generate these import tags inside an .fxml file even if you don't know the import name for the control you want to use?

I/O / Streams :: How To Read In A Binary File Correctly

Nov 8, 2014

I have a binary file that has identifiers for the start of each record

You can see here that the record starts with 00 00 and the next record starts with 00 00 etc...

How do I read between these two points throughout the file?

RandomAccessFile database = new RandomAccessFile(databasePath, "r");
int start = 0;
int end = 0;
database.setLength(start);
database.seek(end);

The first start would be the start of the file, the next start would be the end of the first start and so on..

I'm just not sure how to put that into a loop.
