View Replies View RelatedAs the JRE environments and usage of applets has become more and more secure in through the evolution of enhancements to the JRE we have noticed a performance degradation in usage of these applets and launching of them.
As our customers are in the business to business environment they utilize our applets that are delivered from the server to the client. We are looking at ways to reduce the time to validate that the certificates are still valid. we are looking for ways to provide a means for our customers to validate against a CRL on our server or to cache the the checks against the OCSP so that not each and every client accessing our server needs to go out to the third party sites to get the checks completed.
Is there a means to store this information on our server and have the JRE validate against that system rather than the normal OSCP...
I have a binary file that has identifiers for the start of each record
You can see here that the record starts with 00 00 and the next record starts with 00 00 etc...
How do I read between these two points throughout the file?
RandomAccessFile database = new RandomAccessFile(databasePath, "r");
int start = 0;
int end = 0;
database.setLength(start);
database.seek(end);
The first start would be the start of the file, the next start would be the end of the first start and so on..
I'm just not sure how to put that into a loop.
I am creating an application with having a callerID module. This module is to read calling phone number from modem. I have googled and reference many SerialPort related stuff but could not find a concrete solution. I am able to detect phone ring using serialEvent with javax.comm jar.
I am wondering if AT commands can be used to read/get calling phone number. I also referred following AT commands:
AT+CLIP
AT+VCID
AT+CNUM
1. Is it possible to read calling phone number using AT commands or any other alternative
2. Which AT command can be used and how to send from java application..
I have a problem with several java applications. When I start them Java wants to connect to the certificate authority, to check if the certificate is still valid and not on a blacklist.
The problem is: my whole internet is behind a password protected proxy. If I open my browser i get a windows with username and password. I enter it and internet in the browser works. But for Java it isn't working, because I see no point, where I can enter the password and username for the proxy. I can enter the proxy ip and port in the java settings, but not the password and username. So I get a error screen from java, telling me, that java could not connect. I can disable the check in the java settings, but I don't wont that.
Is there a way to tell java, that java uses my proxy with my password and username? I already googled this problem and found nothing except tutorials for connecting with proxy in the java code. But these applications are not from me, I can't change the code ...

I'm having a bit of trouble with using the Scanner and the Printwriter. I start with a file like this (1 = amount of Houses in the file)
1
FOR SALE:
Emmalaan 23
3051JC Rotterdam
7 rooms
buyprice 300000
energylevel C
The user gets (let's say for simplicity) 3 options:
1. Add a House to the file,
2. Get all Houses which fullfil requirements (price, FOR SALE / SOLD etc.) and
3. Close the application.
This is how I start:
Scanner sc = new Scanner (System.in);
while (!endLoop) {
System.out.println("Make a choice);
System.out.println("1) Add House");
System.out.println("2) Show Houses");
System.out.println("3) Exit");
int choice = sc.nextInt();
Then I have a switch for all of the three cases. I keep the scanner open, so Java can get the user input (house = for sale or sold, price = ... etc). If the user chose option 1, and all information needed is inputted and scanned, the House will be written to the file (which looks like what I typed above).
For this, I use try (PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter("Makelaar.txt", false)))). This works perfectly (at least so it seems.)
If the user chose option 1, and all requirements are inputted and scanned, the Houses will be read (scanner) from the file and outputted. For this I use the same Scanner sc. This also works perfectly (so it seems atleast).
My problem is as follows: If a House has been added, I can only read the House(s) which were already in the file. Let's say I have added 2 houses, and there were from the start 3 houses. If option 2 is chosen, the first 3 houses will be scanned perfectly. An exception will be caught for the remaining 2 (just added) Houses. How can I solve this? I tried to close the Scanner, and reopening it, but apparently Java doesn't agree with this
I'm getting an IllegalArgumentException returned when I try to get a file using guava library.
I previously had the function working when the file was in a different location, before I switched to running JBehave, my steps run but it fails to find the resource, even after I've moved it.
The code being executed is (this worked previously before using JBehave):
String xMLTemplateFileName = "OBOE-confirmation"
public static void setXMLTemplateFile(String xMLTemplateFileName) throws IOException {
URL url = Resources.getResource(xMLTemplateFileName+".xml");
The file I'm looking for is in the root folder for src/main/resources and also src/test/resources, previously I had it within a completely different location before I switched over to JBehave. I've tried it within a subdirectory in the same locations too.
I've recently updated the pom.xml to try to include the location required.
Extract from pom is below:

I am new to programming and we are writing a program to make a tic tac toe game utilizing inheritance, client-supplier, arrays, and EventButton. I am still trying to wrap my head around events and inheritance. We are instructed to write 4 classes (a TicTacToeModel, a TicTacToeView, a TicTacToe Controller, and a TicTacToeButton). I got the TicTacToeModel down, but am having trouble with the other classes.
Instructions for View: Write a class that implements the UML class diagram below. The only purpose of this class is to draw a picture of the specified TicTacToeModel. For purposes of this assignment, we understand a ‘theme’ to include such things as the background color of the tic‐tac‐toe board, the shape and color of the X indicator and the shape and color of the O indicator. While you are free to select your own personalized ‘theme’ your TicTacToeComponent must always be proportionally ‘correct’ regardless of the client‐determined width and height of the Component.
Instructions for the Controller: Write a controller that controls the game. There is one human player (the X player) and the computer player (the O player). The name of the class must be TicTacToeController. In a sense, the controller is the game since the controller will
1) create a TicTacToeModel
2) create a TicTacToeView and
3) create a TicTacToeButton (you must write this class following the design pattern covered in class lectures), a label, and text field such that when the button is pushed, the player moves into the cell selected by the text field. After every player move, the computer moves into a randomly selected empty cell. When the game is over, a text message must be displayed somewhere on the screen the gives the status of the game. While you are free to change the appearance of the controller, the basic elements must be provided
These are our instructions for the TicTacToeButton: create a TicTacToeButton (you must write this class following the design pattern covered in class lectures), a label, and text field such that when the button is pushed, the player moves into the cell selected by the text field. After every player move, the computer moves into a randomly selected empty cell. When the game is over, a text message must be displayed somewhere on the screen the gives the status of the game.And this is the code I have thus far for the button:
import java.awt.event.*;
import java.awt.*;
public class TicTacToeButton extends EventButton{
public TicTacToeButton(int x, int y, int w, int h) {
super("Move");
setBounds(x, y, w, h);
[code]....
So my only error in the entire code is on the 9th line of this code sample. It says "Syntax Error on token "new", @ expected" but @ does not belong there, as far as I can tell, since the error does not go away upon adding it.
public class Obstapacalypse implements KeyListener, ActionListener {
private static final String EXIT_ON_CLOSE = null;
private JFrame frame;
private Player player = new Player();
private JPanel contentPane;

There's a site that uses DBsign UWS to validate personal certificates on a smart card. I wound up breaking that functionality by moving the default Java truststore so I could create a new one with just root/intermediate CAs that I trust (I have no desire to allow apps signed in China, Russia, Turkey, and countries spelled with heiroglyphs). Now, my browser believes the UWS is self-signed and rfuses to run it. I need to find the certificate used to sign that app to see which cert(s) signed it, so I can add them back to the truststore. How can I find that?
View Replies View RelatedWhen our applet loads on our HTTPS website, the JRE is rejecting the website certificate, saying it does not recognize the Certificate Authority (which is Thawte). Internet Explorer is happy with the certificate.
With tracing turned on, I can verify the JRE is checking the certificate authorities of IE, but for some reason rejects all of them. The trace shows this:
security: Certificate has failed the verification with the Internet Explorer ROOT certificates
security: Invalid certificate from HTTPS server
We've tested several versions of JRE 7 and the latest version of JRE 8. All of them reject the certificate authority. This happens on various versions of Windows and Internet Explorer.
Please note that I'm not referring to the certificate used to sign the applet. The JRE is happy with that certificate.
What can I do to further investigate this issue?

I have a very big string that I am returning from servlet to javascript. I am using PrintWriter.
PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
out.print(bigString);
But as the string is very big my code is not working. My browser just hangs.
Also is it possible to stream the output? i.e instead of sending entire string, can I send small part of string at a time. So that my browser will not hang. I don't want to handle streaming manually I am just looking for an IO class which will do the streaming automatically.

I have to be able to read files that have been serialized in VB. 2 things, 1 they are serialized in Binary, and I tried to look up on how to serialize/deserialize in Binary, but didn't have much support...
Also in the VB code they talk about "TYPES" which seems to be to just be a class full of stuff...
I will detailedly explain my requirement below,. I am going to automate a manual process. I will be reading multiple CSV files from a remote location using java.There are five formats of input files are expected, each differs in their header structure. For example, Type 1 - Number, ID, Name, Phone, Address...Type 2 - Number, GID, Employee Name, Address1, Address2, Phone number and so the other three types are also differs.
The precondition is not all the files are expected for a particular run. I need to read these files one by one, validate it, log the validation error and i have to consolidate all the correct data from all the files together in a standard output format, in a single file The standard output format will be like,Number, Name, ID, Address
I need to have the above data alone in the output file and rest of the data can be ignored.What i have tried is as follows, I have created 5 bean classes representing each type's header. I just read an input, identify its type and parsed it. I parsed line by line.
public String[] parseCSV(String inputLine){
try {
String[] fields;
Pattern p =
Pattern.compile(",(?=([^"]*"[^"]*")*(?![^"]*"))");
fields = p.split(inputLine);
/*for ( int i = 0; i < fields.length; i++ ) {
System.out.println(fields[i]);
}*/
[code]...
I have validated as per the validation rules and i appended each line elements into an object. I have added all the objects in to a MAP collection. Likewise, i have created 5 beans and did the same.But, what is the change needed now is,. All the headers in all the five types of rosters are configurable items. hence, i have to change my bean classes everytime when the header structures are changed.
We have to create one single utility, which is configurable for all the five types of input files. To be very clear, if type 1 input comes with 8 columns and type 3 comes with 12 columns, the utility is able to parse it.
We are going to have a table which has the data regarding the header structure of all the five types of inputs alone. Once i read a file and identify its type, i will hit the database and read the header structure of that particular type and its column count. I will match the column count with the input file's header count and i will have to proceed creating a bean class on runtime depending upon the header structure read now. I will validate and consolidate as i did above. The requirement is, Runtime configuration of bean class, depending upon the type of input.

I am looking for java codes to generate a word document based on a word template, basically, I have a word template created and in my local path, the template has a proper format with some fields which will be filled in after java codes ran. The java codes will fetch one record from a table, and open the word template and then fill the fields in the word template, and created a new word document and save it in another folder.
I found this example: [URL] which is similar except it uses xml template instead of word template, how to make it work to change the template from xml to word (docx) template?
