JOptionPane Stops Working After User Input

It works to the point that the user inputs "c" "s" or "r" then it does nothing else ? I can get it to run in my terminal window but when I try to get the JoptionPane windows to work it freezes up.

JOptionPane And StringBuilder - Display And Receive Information To / From The User

I'm using the JOptionPane to display and receive information to/from the user. In addition to this, I am using StringBuilder to receive inputs from the user and then manipulate (append) that input to display the desired output.

//Example

(JOptionPane): "Enter text"
(user input): Java is cool!
(program): *stringBuilder.append(" I love it!")
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog( );
.....

Psuedo-like code. The problem is that showMessageDialog(null, string) and not showMessageDialog(string, string). I want to display the enter text: " Java is cool! I love it! " in the JOptionPane. How do I accomplish this, since showMessageDialog only accepts (null, string).

Delaying JVM Shutdown After Applet Stops

As described in [URL] .... we need to increment the time between the stop of our applet and the halt of the java process (it seems to fixed at 60 seconds). The reason is we want to reuse the same PID java process if the applet is called again after few minutes (i.e. within 5 minutes). At the moment this is possible only if you recall the applet within one minute, otherwise the java process disappears from task manager and a new process is actually created.

Java plugin is 1.6_22 or higher.

Loop That Stops Printing A File And Adding To Stack

I'm supposed to add characters to a stack and pop them once the adjacent delimiter is read in from a text file. Moreover, program is supposed to print out the incoming text from the file, but stop when the applicable delimiter is not on top of the stack. As in, a '[' doesn't have a ']'.

I've got the program so it can pop and add to the stack correctly, and stops adding at the correct time, but I cant seem to get it to stop printing. I know a switch statement method in another class seems obvious, but I was trying to practice nested loops.

This is the main program:

The thing my coding for sudoku is not working for few inputs... it works fine with all its value initially at 0, but when i place numbers more than 4 at random places it stops responding (it doesn't show any value).

I have been coding in my class at school (Grade 11 Computer science) and i just downloaded the program on my computer at home, unfortunately i cannot access my computer notes at home and i also dont remember certian specifics of coding, so my question is how would i get user input to create a program. I have been given a piece of work to do for College that requires me to format user input. For example: This is an example of text that will have straight left and right margins after formatting

I have a mysql database and I want to be able to search through a table for a key word in a column like:

and if i put in the full string like "what blue cow" if finds a match, but I want to be able to put in "blue" and see if it finds a match

I would like to multiply the amount stated inside program by user input. I currently have
