Yes my JPanel is not displaying all the time like you would think it would. Before you beat me up yes I am a bit new I am just working on the GUI part of java over my summer break. Obviously it is not suppose to do that. Secondly, As you can see i am using the alphabet to create JButtons. Shouldnt there be an easier way to use a for( loop) . I tried before but I didn't want to get too side tracked.
Java Code:
import javax.swing.*;
import java.awt.*;
public class hello {
private JFrame alphaframe1;
private JFrame alphaframe2;
I am working on an assignment that I can't seem to figure out the final part to. The program takes in course data such as the time the class starts and how long it lasts. The time is in military time (0000 - 2400)
I need the output time to be the time the class started, plus the length of the class, and displayed in military time.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this. I have gotten a program that works for this time and minutes, and displays the correct 1020. But when I change the information to say
Start time: 0700 Length = 90 minutes
I get:
Endtime = 90
90 is technically correct, the way the formula is setup, but I need it to display 0900 not 90.
Here is the code that I have. Be easy, I'm still learning, and this is just the file I created to get the formula to work. Also, the verbose in here is just for my own debugging to make sure values should be what I'm expecting them to be.
public class calc { public static void main(String[] args) { double hours, minutes, length; double temp; int time = 2400; hours = time / 100; System.out.println("Hours are: " + hours);
I am trying to develop a GUI through hard coding. I encountered a challenge:
I created a Jframe and onto this I added a JPanel. I assigned thge flow layout manager of the frame to null(because i want to do the positioning of my components manually)
The program is running perfect except when i click the maximise button of the frame, the JPanel does not change its size.
With Netbeans IDE - i found that the propert is Horizontal Resizable propert. I have tried to look for the method but in vain.
I am trying to develop identical things from hard coding and in drag and drop environment. so with drag and drop its easy but in hard coding how do I work it out?
Here is the code :
public class JPanelDemo { JFrame frame; JPanel panel; JPanelDemo(){ createFrame();
I would like to be able to draw things onto the panel (via paintComponent), but I'd like it to draw 'on top' of what's already there. The default seems to be that it resets every time I call repaint.
I am making a game in java and i want to make a title screen. What I am trying to do is make a jpanel and load another jpanel when a button is pressed in one of the japenls. Here is the code for the runner
import java.awt.BorderLayout; import javax.swing.JFrame; public class Runner extends JFrame { // Have these set up so they can be seen everywhere public static final int GAMEWIDTH = 540; public static final int GAMEHEIGHT = 710; static boolean loading = false;
[Code] ....
here is the code for the jpanel that loads the other jpanel
I have a Main() class that extends JPanel and I'm trying to add Card() that also extends JPanel.When I add a Card() or Main() object to the JFrame directly, it works fine. The problem arises when I try to add a Card() object to the Main() object.
I edited the code a little bit to make it easier to read so hopefully it's fine.
Main() code: public class Main extends JPanel implements Runnable { // HARDCODED OPTIONS public static final int WIN_WIDTH = 1200; public static final int WIN_HEIGHT = 800;
public static final int GRID_X = 9; public static final int GRID_Y = 5;
<%@ page language="java" isErrorPage="true" contentType="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" pageEncoding="ISO-8859-1"%> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>Error</title> </head>
[code]...
I have put error.jsp and badpage.jsp file in public access folder that is web content in eclipsewhen I am running the code I am status code of 500 and not the errorpage.jsp message .
I have two classes. time_runner is used for testing my code.
This is what I'm using to test my code:
class time_runner { public static void main(String str[]) throws IOException { Time time1 = new Time(14, 56); System.out.println("time1: " + time1); System.out.println("convert time1 to standard time: " + time1.convert()); System.out.println("time1: " + time1); System.out.print("increment time1 five times: "); time1.increment();
[code]....
The two constructors are "Time()", which is the default constructor that sets the time to 1200, and "Time(int h, int m)" Which says If h is between 1 and 23 inclusive, set the hour to h. Otherwise, set the hour to 0. If m is between 0 and 59 inclusive, set the minutes to m. Otherwise, set the minutes to 0. Those are my two constructors that I pretty much have down. The three methods however I'm having trouble with. The "String toString()" Returns the time as a String of length 4. The "String convert()" Returns the time as a String converted from military time to standard time. The "void increment()" Advances the time by one minute.
public class Time { private int hour; private int minute; public Time(int h, int m) { if(h > 1 && h < 23) hour = h;
I am working on a program to have a user input two positive integers and then finding the greatest common denominator between the two. My problem is, I don't know how to display the number (num2) that is returned after the method. Putting a simple System.out.println gives me the error "unreachable code".
import java.util.Scanner; public class **** { public static void main(String[] args)
I have a problem with one method for my assignment. This is the requirement for this method: "This method uses a loop to list all accounts contained in the Array, adding each account details to a String, before outputting to screen in the format specified in the screenshot below. Ensure that there are no out of bounds exceptions by checking if each array slot has an account object before adding its details to the output String. (arrayname[index] != null)"This is my code for this method:
public void listAllAccounts() { String allAccountsString = "List of all accounts: "; for(int i = 0; i < ACCOUNT_SPACES; i++) { //allAccountsString += accountArray[numAccounts]; if (accountArray[i] !=null) { allAccountsString += accountArray[i].toString() + " " ; } } JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, allAccountsString);
The problem is that the Message Dialog does not display the accounts I have already created. It just displays "List of all accounts: ";
I created a instance of a class AddItemView, inside StartUpMenuController. I then passed it into the class, the main method is below showing that as well. However when I do this:
else if(e.getSource()==menu.addBtn) { new addItem(); }
I get an error, little red line on the bottom of the text. I am testing the frame at the moment to make sure it is what I want before I move on to the Controller side of it. I just want to display it and go from there.
package mainMenu.Home.DataBase; import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; import addItemBtn.Home.DataBase.AddItemView; public class StartUpMenuController { StartUpMenu menu; AddItemView addItem;
[code]...
Not sure if this is the issue but the class I am making a new instance of is in a different package. I imported the package though.
I code a program using Eclipse Keppler with Java 8.0. I made a program with 2 JPanel. The first JPanel is working well. From a button in first JPanel, I excute second JPanel, but It is not working. No error when I compile the code. Here is, I attached the source code.
I want my program to show 1st panel and when a person press image label 2nd panel showup which will have 2 tabs "oneway" and "round trip". But rightnow I only see 2nd panel with only 1 tab and don't see 1st panel at all.
I have a JPanel embedded in a JScrollPane. I draw in the JPanel, using the paint() method. I have to draw some shapes that can go far in the y direction, that's why I put my JPanel in a scroll pane, in order to scroll down to be able to discover the shapes down. But even though I put my JPanel in a JScrollPane, it soon blocks in the y direction and does not show the shapes far in the y direction.
Note: I used a GridBagConstraints which is correctly set, with its fill attribute etc.
As you can see in the above image. I have create One jFrame inside it their is one jPanel. Inside jPanel their are dynamic buttons whose range can change. (its like text box if you add more text scroll bar will appear)
I want to add jScrollBarr/jScollPane to jPanel so that when more than 6buttons will be their, I can scroll it down/up. So my question is how should I place jScollPane using this DRAG-DROP tool. When i clicked on jScrollPane and tried to put it inside jPanel I am unable to set it's position. It's my first time to add jScrollPane for jPanel inside jFrame.
I am trying to display the files stored in server using jsp. I used the code below to display. But for pdf it is asking to download (No option for open). For XLS, XLSX, DOCX, PPT and PPTX it is showing zip file to download. For type doc it is showing junk data.
<% String fileName=(String)request.getAttribute("fileName"); int loc = fileName.lastIndexOf("."); String fileName1 = fileName.substring(0, loc); String fileName2 = fileName.substring(loc + 1, fileName.length());
One of my official site is not disaplying the content in machine#1 IE10 browser.And the same site is showing data in another machine#2. I compared the both machines JRE and JDK settings but no difference found.
I'm learning about inheritance and part of my problem is to create an Order with methods, then an UpdateOrder where the total price is changed by adding four dollars to it, and then a main method displaying a few orders. I've copied all three below in order. My question is when I run the program it will display the totalprice() first for the second order followed by name, number, etc.what you override always displayed first regardless of the order you put them in? (The issue is at line 31 on the third code.)
import javax.swing.JOptionPane; public class Order { //superclass private String customerName; private int customerNumber; protected int quantityOrdered; protected double unitPrice; protected double totalPrice;
