This program asks the user for their starting balance, number of deposits, and number of withdrawals for a month
Now, if the number of withdrawals goes over 4, it has to include a service charge of 1.00 for every withdrawal that was more than 4 (This works fine so far)
The problem I am having is this:
The subclass part of this program is supposed to determine whether an account is below 25. If it is, it should make the account inactive, until the account is 25 or more. The subclass will have a method that will override the super's setWithdrawal mehtod to make sure that no withdrawals will be made until that balance is 25 or more.
Then the setDeposit method in the subclass will also override the super's setDeposit method and make sure that the account is not inactive before any deposits are made. If the account was determined to be inactive at that time and the deposits that were added make it jump to 25 or more, than the account should be changed to active and then be allowed to call the super's method to set the deposit.
So...the issue I am having is the subclass trying to determine whether the balance is under 25 before it calls the super's version of that method where it will allow the user to take money out and when making deposits where it will determine if the account was inactive first before make it active while the deposits raise to 25 or above.
Here is my super class:
// This is an abstract class that will be used for its child class BankAccount public abstract class BankAccount { private double balance; // To hold the account balance for the month private int numDeposit; // To hold the number of deposits for the month protected int numWithdrawal; // To hold the number of withdrawals for the month private double annualIR; // To hold the annual interest rate for the month protected double monthlyServCharge; // To hold any service charge for the month private double monthlyInterest;
I am in the progress of updating my code and re-testing after switching from Java 6 to Java 7. When I open multiple JInternalFrames in my application under java 6 I am used to closing the top most internal frame and having the frame immediately under it become the next active frame. When I run the same code under Java 7 I see a different behaviour in as much as when I close the last frame I opened, the next one to become active is the first one.
To illustrate this another way, lets say I open 5 internal frames, 1,2,3,4 & 5
In java 6 when I close frame 5, frame 4 becomes the active frame.
In java 7 when I close frame 5, frame 1 becomes the active frame.
I want to write a little java program that when ran it will add information to my host file. A screen will pop up with a button on it. When you click the button it will add a few ip to domain connections. In order to edit the host file with notepad you must first give notepad admin privileges. I can't find a way to do this and I'm extremely fresh to programming. Is there a way I can write directly to the file or is there a way to run notepad with elevated privileges?
I have gf 4.0.1 and swing client. I want to get EJB over SSL. I've set all certificates. However, I can get it work only when client and server are at the same host. What I see in tcpdump when they are at the same host:
I want to encrypt a file and decrypt it on another host. For decryption on another host I guess I need to transfer the cipher... how can this be done? How can you write a Cipher to disk?Or am I completely on a wron track?
The following code is doing it already on one host:
I have a Linux Server Debian 7 x86_64 Minimal With java version "1.7.0_65" installed..Its an online Game Server wich Players can join just like other Services.Every 10 - 15 minutes all the players get kicked from the server and get this messege: "internal exception: java.io.ioexception: an existing connection was forcibly closed by remote host"
The players can't join the server for 10 seconds and the server console doesn't show anything for 10 seconds.it doesnt show that the players even left! and when the players try to join they get htis messege: "same nick is already playing"
After 10 seconds everything will work and players can join again and server console say that everyone left and joined..But that happens again after 10 minutes and im losing lots of players because of this error.

I have created a java gui application and I need to communicate through the serial port. I would like to open the serial port in the beginning of the application and then close it when the applications closes. The problem that I am having is that I created a method to open the serial port in the main function but I can not close the serial port on exit off the application. Is there away of having the serial port be setup so that all methods can access the serial port.
I'm a new in java program. I need reading COM port on GPRS Modem. I plug the GPRS Modem in my PC and it has connected. I use Eclipse and create a project and new a file a.java, i collect this following code from the internet and paste it into the a.java file.
Java Code:
package serial; import java.io.*; import java.util.*; import javax.comm.*; //for accessing serialport public class OwnPort { static CommPortIdentifier portId;
[Code] ....
You can see the result here
I don't know the result why return " Set default port to COM4. port COM4 not found."
My company is a transport company. We receive goods form partner and transport it to customers. There is a process that we must accept a number of kilograms into bill after we weigh goods by the electronic balance(the electronic balance have serial port plug in PC) . To decrease this process, I'm looking for a project "read serial port wrote in java applet". Who have code,
I am trying to connect to Sql Server database using Oracle UCP with sqljdbc4-3.0 JDBC driver for Sql Server,with different ports and instances.
– the issue is with the port being ignored in the server string.
For example, using port 1440 connects to the default instance (which is on port 1433) rather than MSSQLINSTANCE1 which is on 1440.
Below are Server hosts used.
sql005.sqlasoftware.com (connects correctly to the default instance) sql005.sqlasoftware.com:1440 (connects incorrectly to the default instance on port 1433) sql005.sqlasoftware.comMSSQLINSTANCE1 (connects correctly to the named instance)
I need to port asynchronous bean (provided by websphere) support in App servers like weblogic and jboss. Is this feature already part of J2EE specification? Or should I use some other external package to get this feature?If so what are those async bean like features for weblogic and jboss?
A wages calculator application is required that can determine the total cost of crew departing from the port on that day. To do this, the application reads from an itinerary text file containing each ship being loaded in the port that day, in the following format:
<ship id> <journey id> <l> // where <l> is the length in hours of the journey <s> // where <s> is the number of crew for the ship for this journey <rate> // for each s, <rate> is hourly rate of pay
Your application must calculate the total cost of the crew for each ship/journey and then compare it with a "recommended maximum journey cost" (RM) amount typed in by the user when the application is first run. If the total amount is less than or equal to RM then the details must be written to the screen and to an output text file called wagedaily.txt. If the amount is larger than RM then the results must be written to the screen only. Messages to the screen must indicate whether the crew cost is less than, equal to or larger than RM.
Your application should find the ship with the highest crew cost that is below RM and print this out as the final piece of output to the screen.
It has given me a bunch of ships and numbers to play around with in the code, here they are:
I have a beginning Java Program I have been working on that creates a number guessing program where the computer guesses a number that the user is thinking of within a certain range. I so far have the program below, but need getting rid of a few kinks/ adding features.
-First, I need to set it up so that the user will be prompted and give a range. It should run and produce something like this:
Welcome to this first-ever mind-guessing program!
Please pick a range (higher than 1 and no larger than 50): 32
You will choose a number between 1 and 32... and I will try to guess it.
With each of my guess, you will tell me whether I am too high (h or H), too low (l or L), match (m or M), or you want to quit (q or Q). My objective is to find the number using as few guesses as possible.
-Second, the game is supposed to give up and restart after failing the five, guesses, but for some reason, after it fails the fifth time, it prompts a fifth guess once again instead, then restarts after- I need to prevent this, so that it should look something like this:
My fourth guess is 17: h My guess is too high?
My fifth guess is 16: h *** I am unlucky this round. I give up.
Let's play!
My first guess is 10: etc..
import java.util.*; import java.lang.Math; public class numguessprac1 { // Declaring variables public static String input; public static int quit; public static int guess; public static int wins;
So I am currently writing my first assignment and have run into problems with my coding. The task was to have someone enter a 5 digit number and in return, I list each number on their respective lines. We also must create an error if a number other than 5 digits was entered. My problem is that when they enter a 1 or 2,3,4,6,7,8 digit number.. the error message occurs along with the rest of the messages (listing the numbers, etc). I want the program to end (or even re-ask to enter the numbers) if they incorrectly enter the data.
trying to write a program that takes a user inputted number and converts it to a binary number.
Here's what I have:
package com.java2novice.algos; import java.util.Scanner; public class Converter { static Scanner console = new Scanner(System.in); public void printBinaryFormat(int number){ int binary = console.nextInt();
In a forest, there are some bamboo trees .The length of each tree get doubled during winter and increases by one unit in summer , write a Java program to calculate the total length of n number of bamboo trees in M number of seasons. The season always starts with winter.
import java.util.Scanner; public class Tree { public static void main(String args[]) { int length; int season;
We have triangle made of blocks. The topmost row has 1 block, the next row down has 2 blocks, the next row has 3 blocks, and so on. Compute recursively (no loops or multiplication) the total number of blocks in such a triangle with the given number of rows.
