When I have a datatable of primefaces with paginator and its only readable and not editable, its not needed to be inside of a form, right? although I have seen it many times inside of it
View RepliesI have a bookings table where customers can view their bookings and in the table there is a button with a command button that onclick goes to the dialogue to display the variable petUpdate value but if you have 2 bookings then all the update buttons display the value of the last petUpdate in the arrayList.

I want to put my table inside a form for retrieval purposes (or Am i doing it wrong?) When the table is not within a form, it works perfectly. It displays information the way i wanted.
However, once I put the table inside a form the table doesn't display needed information. Is the problem the html or the jsp code?
Here's my jsp file:

When I click on a row in a JTable, I want to have a row appear above it. For now I'm just making that row be a duplicate of the row I clicked on, but eventually this will be some sort of previous history of that row, so as you are editing the row you actually clicked on you can look directly above it and see what the data used to look like.
I"m not having any problem creating the row, nor am I having an issue getting it positioned correctly. What I want to do with this added row is made it so you can't edit the entire row, and also really make this row stand out. I'd like to say make this row stand out or "POP" so to speak so there is no confusing what it is. I'd almost like to make it look like the row header or even better... Most of what I am seeing are ways to make particular cells uneditable, so I think my backup plan is that, but Is there a good way to do what I described?
I'm having a hard time finding out the way to make JTextField editable. In what circumstances it can be disabled to write? [even the text in the field can't be selected, not to mention being uneditable. I did the followings to make it editable.
1. In its Properties panel(frame or whatever), checked the "editable" item.
2. In the code I made it run the code below :

I am rather new to Java and to Javafx, I was able to make my program work to a point. I would like the file that is opened to appear in the editor tab and other files I open to appear in the viewer tab if they are not being edited. From what I have looked up I think that the HTML text editor might be the one for me the only question I have is how do I implement it and the file chooser ( because I think that would work).

That's my codes but its wrong according to our prof. it should be in frame form. i don't know how to do it since i did not encountered framing since i was started in java.
I have a form containing several fields, 2 of which persist to different table in a database than the rest of the fields on the form. I have no problem persisting the data into both tables of the database, and after the form is submitted I reset the form to its default values. That all works fine.
But in the same session, when I open another form (a search form) and enter search criteria, which then displays a datatable containing the search results, those 2 values that are persisted to another table are not showing up, but the rest of the data is.
Here is the method that calls the persist methods:

The values do show up, but the problem is, when a subsequent form is opened in the same session (e.g. a search form) the field for that value shows the actual value, instead of the field being blank.'
I am not sure why the data from the one database ("parent") is showing up, yet the data from the other database ("child") is not.
Is it something I am doing wrong? I thought by setting the setter in the child controller class back to a new instance of the Entity class (PolicyPayment) that it would reset the form to default values, but at the same time retain (or save) the inputted values in the same session.
I have a button on UI which adds messages and when the user clicks on it the form gets submitted, meanwhile the user is clicking on refresh(F5) multiple times which is causing the same message to be displayed multiple times. To resolve this , I am converting the form from a synchronous submit to Asychronous but it is still not working. Below is the code:

View Replies View Related1. If we have and xhtml page and we just have a datatable to show some records through a managed bean, I think there is no validation phase, apply request values phase... so it would be a faces request but not with the lifecycle of a jsf request, right?
2. In the previous case because the normal phases of a jsf request are not going to be called, the method that will be called in the backing bean to get the records, could be called more than once although its not a normal faces request?

I have several forms built with primefaces 3.5 using NetBeans 8 IDE on a JBoss EAP 6.21 server, and JPA 2.1 annotations. Data is extracted from an Oracle 11 database, which consists of several lookup tables, as well as a primary table and secondary table. Using the EntityManager createQuery method I query the database, which of course returns a resultset. The query grabs all records from the primary, as well as values from 2 specific columns of the secondary database, based on search criteria entered by the user on a primefaces search form. The returned results are then iterated through, this is where I am trying to get the values from the secondary table to populate specific fields in the datatable.Here is the applicable code from the list.xhtml form containing the datatable:

As odd as the code may look (and I will completely understand anyone cringing as to some of the coding methods I use), specifically with the ui:repeat tags nested inside the datatable tag of the list.xhtml form, I strangely do see the values from the secondary table showing up in the form showing the results in a datatable. However, when the user clicks on a specific record in the returned resultset listed in the datatable, another form is opened and populated with the values from the datatable, but the 2 fields on that form that should be populated with the 2 values I referred to before from the secondary table (i.e. policy1Num and totalPayoutAmt) do not have the values in them.
This is partly because I have those 2 fields in the editable form pointing to the managed bean of the secondary table (code from that bean not shown here), rather than the same "polNum. policy1 Num" and "totPayout.totalPayoutAmt" var I am using in the list.xhtml form. How those values are being successfully returned into the datatable of the list.xhtml form - I happened to "stumble" across the use of the "polNum" and "totPayout" vars with the "policy Payment Collection" list. I do not know how to do the same thing for those 2 fields in the editable form.how a datatable gets populated, specifically with values in a @OneToMany collection,
I used Primefaces 4.0.7.I has trouble with checkboxes, which are not change,with unselected checkboxes when I press . I mean, i selected someone from selectone menu in my bsPanel(first panel) and then the datatable fills with his/her duty.Then I select all the duties in the datatable to assign to someone else in bilgiPanel. I have a web form with a field Department. I want to add Sub Departments(unknown number) of one Department and then further Sub Sub Departments(unknown number) of one Sub Department. How I will make a form and how I will add this data in attached database. I have one solution:
One Department field with a button to add any sub department if any. By clicking on button, a new row will be generated with another text field and new button. In this way, it will go on. Tree like structure.
But I have another solution, JSF Tree to add or delete entries on the run time. But the problem is that I am unable to find any example of JSF tree like structure populated from database and in which we can add or delete entries on run time and on the same time these entries may also be stored in database.

I map the fields filled in the form with managed bean properties. when I submit the form and click new form , values from the previous form submitted gets displayed in the input fields. I used the scope of the from bean to session. what should be its scope so that values should be destroyed after I submit the form .For every new form ,new bean has to be initialized. On submit I navigate to another bean with session scope.
