JSF :: Inserting Parent And Child Entities Into A Third Entity Using SelectOneMenu?
Oct 31, 2014
The company entity contains companyName, Sector and Segment columns. The mapping is 3 entities (Company, Sector, Segment) where Sector and Segment are used to create a company record. Sector has a OneToMany relationship with Segment and with Company. I put the Sector and Segment values into two select menus as use these to create a Sector and Segment reference for the Company table. I'm getting the following exception:
Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException: Cannot add or update a child row:
a foreign key constraint fails (`testdummy`.`company`, CONSTRAINT `FK_COMPANY_FK_COMPANY_SECTORID` FOREIGN KEY
(`FK_COMPANY_SECTORID`) REFERENCES `sectors` (`SECTORID`))

at sun.reflect.DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.java:45)
at java.lang.reflect.Constructor.newInstance(Constructor.java:526)
I'm thinking that the problem is that since the Segment entity is a child of Sector it must be entered through an instance of Sector. Because it's being entered as a separate value I'm getting this error. The problem is Segment is defined as a Set in the Sector entity and I can't figure out how to declare Segment as an instance using its parent entity (Sector).
My code is as follows, starting with the Sector entity:
@Entity
@Table(name = "SECTORSNEW")
public class SectorsNew {
@Id
@GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO)
private int sectorId;
private String sectorName;
@OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.PERSIST)
[code]....

I keep hearing these two term when it comes to painting in Swing, however, I'm not sure which is which. To my understanding is that the child components are the ones that already exist on screen (could be a JButton, JFrame, or custom painting) . and the parent components are the one to be added/drawn next. (hence, if we override the paintChildren() method when painting, the components that were already on the screen don't appear any more).

I have been working on a simple problem, but I am stuck. I am trying to learn parent and child classes and how they work. The program in broken into three classes; the DemoBook class that runs the various methods, the Book class that gathers information and displays it, and finally a child class of Book (called TextBook) that just gets one piece of data and then is suppossed to return that data back to Book. However, this is not working and I know I am missing something; I believe it has to do with Set and Get methods, but I am confused with how these work.
Java Code:
public class DemoBook
{
public static void main (String[] args)
{
Book aBook = new Book();
Textbook aText = new Textbook();
[Code] .....

I am creating a commenting system for a side project of mine I'm building using AnuglarJS for the front-end and Spring MVC for the backend.
I am having difficulty coming up with an algorithm that will populate each comment object with a list of the comments that are responses/children of it.
The below code is what I have so far. The problem is is that it duplicates comments.
public List<Comment> getComments(int id)
{
MapSqlParameterSource params = new MapSqlParameterSource();
params.addValue("id", id);
List<Comment> allComments = jdbc.query("select * from comments where debate_id=:id", params, new RowMapper<Comment>()

Regarding the lifecycle of servlet , in headfirst servlet i can find :
You normally will NOT override the service() method, so the one from HttpServlet will run. The service() method figures out which HTTP method (GET, POST, etc.) is in the request, and invokes the matching doGet() or doPost() method. The doGet() and doPost() inside HttpServlet don’t do anything, so you have to override one or both. This thread dies (or is put back in a Container-managed pool) when service() completes.
How can I call the doGet method of the subclass from the superclass. i am not getting this .

I want to know is there any way we can call parent class method using child class object without using super keyword in class B in the following program like we can do in c++ by using scoop resolution operator
class A{
public void hello(){
System.out.println("hello");
}
}
class B extends A{
public void hello(){
//super.hello();
System.out.println("hello1");

Parent row:
-Column1-+-Column2-+-Column3-+-Column4-+-Column5-+-Column6-+
Child row:
--CloumnC1--+--CloumnC2--+--CloumnC3--+--CloumnC4--+

I've a parent class with a argument constructor like below(a sample code)
public class Parent {
Parent(String name) {
System.out.println(name);
}
public static void main(String[] args) {
}
}
Also I've child.class which extends Parent.class as shown below,
public class child extends Parent {
child(String name) {
super(name);
}
}
Now, I want create/modify the constructor which is in child, by taking "int i" as an input instead of "String name". How can I do that? Run time I want to execute child constructor not a parent constructor.
Condition is: Without making any changes to the Parent class

I've Parent and child(extends Parent) class To initialize the constructors, I'm injecting from google.juice#injector. Let me show the code,
Parent.class
public class Parent{
private Animal animal;
@inject
Parent(Animal animal){
this.animal = animal;
[code].....
When I do this, ClassCastException is happening. Why is it so? Is there any way to convert instance of parent to child instance.

I need to get a clone of a fairly deep object tree. All objects are entities and I need to set the primary keys to null. The root object:
public class Grundentscheidung implements Cloneable {
@OneToMany(cascade = CascadeType.ALL)
@JoinColumns({
@JoinColumn(name = "gesamtentscheidung_dstNr"),
@JoinColumn(name = "gesamtentscheidung_id")
[Code] .....
When I call
Grundentscheidung grundentscheidungClone = grundentscheidung.clone();
grundentscheidungClone contains the whole object tree with all dependencies, but the Tatbestand objects have their primary keys. When I use the debugger I see that Tatbestand.clone() is never called.
Is my code faulty? I would like to avoid to write a large method which sets all primary keys on the object tree to null.

I would like to create list of entities which is populated by a search function with the data coming from our REST webservice. However I would like it to be multi-line, with the first line being details from the entity itself and the second line buttons for options that can be performed.
So as an example say my entity is People, the first line would contain columns for first name, last name, gender, DOB, etc. The second line would be buttons for "Edit Person", "Print Person details". With the standard TableView I can't see anyway to alternate between one row of data and another row of buttons.

I'm trying to implement a functionality which will control the visibility of three outputText. I'm using a selectOneMenu, which has three options. Each option will enable visibility of one outputText, and rest will be invisible.
I used the following code
<h:selectOneMenu id="search" styleClass="select-box" value="#{empMB.showHide}" required="true" requiredMessage="Please Select an Option" >
<f:selectItem itemLabel="-----Select----"/>
<f:selectItem itemLabel="By Name" itemValue="1"/>
[Code] ....
Initially all outputText s is invisible as rendered value is false, but when I select different options, their respective outputText s are not visible.

I have a package (JAR_A) for entity and controller definition, for example:
entity: Entity
controller: EntityController
Then I use this jar in other projects/applications that use the entity.
I want to use the same JAR_A with different persistence unit and different database (in particular, mysql and postgresql) but when I define two persistence unit that include the same class, I have an exception.
So, I comment the other PU and compile the project.
there is a smarter way for use same package with different PU ?

I have the following problem:
I need to make a relation (OneToMany) between a entity on my server and a entity in my library (ManyToOne).
My program consists of 3 main components:
- a client (who uses session beans to query the server)
- a server (which contains entity's)
- a lib which is shared between the client and the server. (which also contains entity's)
Here is the thing I want to do:
Class on my Server:
@Entity
public class ClassOnServer implements Serializable{
@Id
private int uid;
@OneToMany(cascade=ALL, mappedBy="relation")
private Set<ClassOnServer> relation1; //This is no problem, because the server can import the library
}
Class on my Library:
@Entity
public class ClassInLibrary implements Serializable{
@Id
private int uid;
@ManyToOne
private ClassOnServer relation2; //This gives an error because ClassOnServer can not be imported into the library
}
It's not an option to move ClassOnServer to my lib because this would ruin the whole architecture.

I'm using EclipseLink, WildFly, EJB, postgresSQL and JSF.I'm trying to persist some countries and their localities.So I've:
- Two entities Countries and Localities in which I specify respective columns and relations.
- Abstract Session beans for entity classes: AbstractFacade providing basic crud methods and entity manager.
- Two concrete session bean for entity classes: CountriesFacade and LocalitiesFacade.
- A JSF managed bean named geoJSF.
- A JSF page with a form allowing to insert new country and localities.
In geoJSF I'm injecting via EJB CountriesFacade as property named cf and LocalitiesFacade as property named lf.For the actual inserting country and locality I'm using geoJSF.country and geoJSF.locality. When the form is submitted I'm simply doing:
this.cf.create(this.country);
this.locality.setCountry(this.country); //<- this throw an exception (unique constraint violation) due to the attempt to reinsert this.country
this.lf.create(this.locality);
I disabled all cascade among relations definitions.Based on what I know this.country should appear detached to entity manager so, setting relation the entity manager try to re-persist it.

Am trying to develop a web application, and am using the Entity Manager. The web application involves users posting data to the database. How do I incorporate the entity manager together with the prepared Statement functionality to avoid users corrupting the database with SQL tags?
If I have EJB database session beans, when the content of the database changes, does the information on the web page get automatically updated dynamically on the client machine?
