JSF :: Selection Of 0 Index Of Dropdown Chrome Browser
Jul 17, 2014
I have a jsf form which has a drop down. When I select any value in drop down it shows related details. When I use chrome browser, and I press back space key it comes back to the page, it keeps the value selected which was selected earlier, but in the firefox, IE it keeps the zero index selected. The same code is not working for chrome browser.
I would like the zero index to be selected in the drop down in previous page in chrome browser also when back space key is pressed...
What best API or whatever you call for browser automation? I mean clicking links, filling forms, gathering sources and other info. I already tried selenium WebDriver. It have all needed functions but there is no feature like attaching code into already opened browser so even doing google search it opens new browser window (opening takes ~5-10secs). Also I believe that there is no way that I could embed that browser into GUI.
Also tried WebSpecs and old Watij but also didnt found any way to attach or embed browser into my GUI.
So what I need is that I could create GUI with embeded browser and bunch of buttons. I click buttons then embeded browser clicks links, gets info etc.
I use Chrome rather than IE. Recently I got an error message when I tried to deposit a check online.
It said that I needed up get a newer version of Java than 6.10, so I downloaded 7u51.
When I tried to deposit the check again, Chrome asked if I wanted to run the app, and I said yes, but that took me back to the download link again.
I spent almost an hour with my bank experts, but they were unable to solve the problem.
When we tried it on Internet Explorer, it worked fine.
Later, I discovered that on the Java Control Panel under the Default Browser for Java, it has only IE and Mozilla, with the IE being checked and greyed out.
I'm assuming that's why the problems on Chrome, even though up until a few days ago, I was able to deposit checks using Chrome-Java.
My current URL is URL....The context rootpath is URL....In my current URL page, I upload a CSV file. This page has two buttons-- ok and Cancel and these buttons are what I'm having trouble with ( I will come to that part in a short while). The relevant JSP part is as follows.
<html:form action="importEmployee?method=save" method="POST" styleId="importEmployee" enctype="multipart/form-data"> ....... some headers and title bar and stuff... and then as follows. <div class="contentSection"> <table border="0" class="formTable"> <html:hidden property = "selectedSet" /> <tr>
[code]...
So, if I click on cancel in the second URLpage (URL...), I go back to the first URLpage, i.e to URL...But this part behaves differently in Firefox and in Chrome browsers.In Chrome, if I click on cancel in the second page, I can still see the uploaded file name( the hidden property in the first JSP is the file name ) in the first page. And if I click on ok, I can do the processing again as was done by clicking ok the first time on the first page.However when I run my application in a Firefox browser, if I click on cancel in the second page, the uploaded file name says 'no file selected' in the first page. Hence to import Employees again, I need to upload a new/same CSV file again.
I don't want the file to be present in the first page when I click on cancel in the second page even when I run my application in Chrome. Yes, I require the file name to be a hidden property. This is because depending on the data in the file, different kind of processings are done and some of them require to take additional inputs from user on another page and a third page does the processing. So the file name should be passed on to the form but I don't want the user to upload the file again.
However in the event the user clicks on cancel, I don't want the file name to be retained in the first page. But this isn't happening.So I have two questions. Why is the behaviour different in Chrome and in Firefox and is there a way I can correct the way it behaves in chrome?
i am calling a method of my applet from within the javascript. My code works fine with all browsers except CHROME.i get this exception in browser = "Uncaught TypeError: Object #<HTMLObjectElement> has no method 'loadComplete' mainControl.js:6". i called this method on the "onload" of <body> tag.
I have written sample web application with servlets and jsp. As per the below code the action url should be executed automatically according to the "onload". I have written this below code in one of my servlet, The below "onload" form hits the path in action only in Firefox and IE but not in Chrome(41.0.2272.74 beta-m (64-bit)).I have seen the link [Chrome - <body onload=“”> is not working ][1] , I have my below code in the end of servelt. there is nothing to execute after this code in the servlet.
out.write("<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> "); out.write("<html><body onload="alert('alert has been fired');document.forms[0].submit()"> "); out.write("<form method="POST" action="" + actionUrl + "">
[Code] ....
Is there any reserved key words of chrome in the above action url? If I execute this code in the html format, it is working in chrome. but if it is from servlet, alert() is not running.
My jsp page needs to have a dropdown box. on selecting one/more than one values from this list, the same values get populated in another one.. we have a delete button too , it allows to populate the second box again.
The thing is i am to avoid scripts and use custom tags as much as i can...
I want to create a quiz in java in which questions and options will be retrieved from mysql database.I want the options to be in drop down list format.And I am using jsp for presentation layer and all the connections with database are in java..how to retrieve the options from database to drop down menu...
I want to create a dropdown menu with contents from a database. You can see my Code in the attachment. It does not work, but why? I have a dropdown-symbol, but no contents.
I have a a hashmap in request attribute which is available to jsp file where i have a dropdown. Hashmap kay= value of this dropdown. As and when I select CLT i want to perform some opertation depending on value associated with that key in hashmap.
I am familiar with Java but new to JSP. I have a Java Servlet app where user actions are recorded in a SQL Server database amd I now need to quickly put together a JSP front end application to view user actions. I want two drop down boxes to filter the results that will be displayed in a list box. What I need is the first drop down list box to show unique user names that have logged in. I can interrogate the database with the following SQL;
"SELECT DISTINCT(USER_ID) FROM AUDIT_MESSAGE"
Then when a user is selected from the first drop down list box (perhaps some sort of on change event) a second drop down list box shows the logins times of the selected user. Again I can interrogate the database with the following SQL;
SELECT SESSION_ID, EventTIME FROM dbo.AUDIT_MESSAGE WHERE OPERATION = 'loginResponse' AND RESULTS = 'OK' AND USER_ID = 'firstdropdownlistselection'
Then finally when a login time is selected in the second drop down list box all events for the selected user while logged in with that login time are displayed in the list box.
i am trying to create an applet with drop-down lists. When I compile the program the following error message appears '. . .is not abstract and doesn't override abstract method action Performed. . . Here is my code . . .
import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import java.applet.*; public class DavidApplet extends Applet implements ActionListener //class header { Label fName=new Label("First Name");
I have a fixed list of 20+ values to be populated in a dropdown. The set of values are always going to remain the same, no future scope of modifications, additions or deletions.
Listing each of them as <option> in JSP is making the page look cluttered. Or is it better reading it as a comma-separated string from a properties file and then iterating to populate the dropdown.
What will be the best approach to populate such a dropdown in JSP?
Is it possible to get the list/ values in html/jsp from servlet?
I have a table inside an html/jsp page and when the user clicks a button I need to refresh the whole page with some additional text message.
Currently what I am doing is that I am using a java bean for the jsp page that contains a list of values inside the table then store it in session but I think there is a better way without storing it in session.
I tried using request.getParameter() but it only returns string.
I have list of employees in my database and their associated information like employeeId,supervisor and process. I have class named EmployeeDetails having same properties. I am fetching details of all users using below code:
In employeeList, we have list of objects having data of employees. I donot know how to get which object is selected in dropdown and based on that rest of the text fields are populated. Example:
Name ID Supervisor ------------------------------------------------------- Pawan Kumar3033045Vimal Kumar Vimal Kumar3040901Dinesh Hemrajani
If Pawan Kumar is selected from dropdown then '3033045' and 'Vimal Kumar' should get populated.
My question is related to combo boxes. A combo box in general is a text field with a dropdown list. I would want to know if we can replace hthe dropdown List by an other component, for example a JTable component.
I have JSON which as response from third party server,i call the URL and i want to print in browser as json but it is not display browser also display well in console i post my code here
URL url = new URL ("http://api.rottentomatoes.com/api/public/v1.0/movies/770672122.json?apikey=qpdtfwugwbxt32awk8jvwcdq"); URLConnection uconn = url.openConnection(); BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(uconn.getInputStream())); String line=null; while ((line = in.readLine()) != null) { System.out.println(line); }

This program allows the user to select one of each different type of skateboard/accessories items. Then it allows the user to select as many misc items as he or she chooses. The program works fine for the single choices, but I cannot solve the latter part. I have a get method in the misc class that is trying to pull out any selection or selections that were made by the user, but it simply does nothing...
Here's my program, I have four panel classes for each skateboard type, and then I have one class that takes care of adding each panel to the content pane, and calculating the total cost of the item.
Decks Panel Class:
import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; // The DecksPanel class allows the user to selects a specific type of skateboard public class DecksPanel extends JPanel
However, whenever I run the method, the element that should go last, Zachary, in this case, ends up getting moved to the front for some reason. I'm not sure why.
I tried changing what the first element was initialized to, to the variable i as that would logically work as well, but it ends up missing the first element in the list.
Java Code:
public static void selectionStringAscendingSort (String[] words){ int i, j, first; String temp; for ( i = 1; i < words.length; i++ ) { first = 0; //initialize to subscript of first element for(j = i; j < words.length; j ++){ //locate smallest element between positions 1 and i. if( words[ j ].compareTo(words[ first ]) <0 ) first = j; } temp = words[ first ]; //swap smallest found with element in position i. words[ first ] = words[ i ]; words[ i ] = temp; System.out.println(Arrays.toString(words)); } System.out.println(Arrays.toString(words)); } mh_sh_highlight_all('java');
