Animating Score To Count Up Or Just Displaying Score
May 30, 2014I am using Eclipse programming for android. I have a game working fine but looking to add a little flare to it. Currently more scoring system just displays the current sore so if your score is 3,000 and you score 300 more it just changes to 3,300.
My question is how can I get the score to count from 3,000 to 3,300 really fast giving it the arcade feel of your score counting up? I tried timers with delays but it gets slowed down and buggy.
Creating A Score List And High Score List?
Jan 7, 2015I am creating a program called "Mad Math Machine". This program is to generate random arithmetic questions, with integers ranging from -12 to 12, for the user to answer. The user has three lives. Once they get more than three questions wrong, they run out of lives, and their "score" (the number of questions they answered correctly) is taken.
I have the large chunk of the program (the arithmetic questions and answers) completed. The only part I am stuck on is the scoring system. I believe that arrays would be useful for this task, but I have little idea of where to start. Here is what the scoring list should be able to do:
- It should print out the top ten recent players and their scores.
- A separate list should show the top-two highest scores of all time.
*I didn't think it was relevant, but I can include the program code. Up until this point, I have created methods to keep track of the score, but I have simply left them commented out so I could build the rest of the program.*
JSF :: Primefaces Sorting Not Working Properly With Live Scrolling
Dec 15, 2013I have datatable with live scrolling enabled.The columns are not getting sorted fully.When one of the columns is sorted,for example "insured" in the image shown below, all the records seem to have sorted but when i reach the end of scroll and next set of records get loaded i see other records in unsorted order as indicated in the image ,when i try to see the column in descending order.So because of this i am not getting the sorting feature accurately done(All records are not getting sorted at a single stretch)

Jul 15, 2014I was testing my JavaFX2.2.7 based media player code in a current Java 6 application when I discovered that HTTP Live Streaming does not seem to work. I can play a local file of the supported format (Sintel trailor mp4 h264) but when I try and use an HTTP Live Stream instead, nothing plays. (for example [URL] ). I end up with a blank player, and no exceptions or errors.

I thought it was something wrong with my player code, so as a last resort, I went to JavaFX 2 - Ensemble and copied the source and put it directly into my application and ran it... Unfortunately the same result occurs. The player runs, but simply shows a blank video window. The controls are available, but no video plays.
Based on the Release notes for Java 2.2.7 I was under the impression that HLS was supported. Am I incorrect?
I cannot upgrade to Java 7 as I am firmly stuck with Java 1.6.0.32 due to project constraints.
Live Bytes For Object Instance In JVisualVM Increase On Every Operation
May 5, 2014Whenever i perform any operation in my application Live Bytes of a particular Instance of a class increases by 1000.Although i perform the same operation everytime it always increases by 100 or 1000.Is this a memory leak or does these instances increase everytime we perform an operation.

Feb 21, 2014I have a primefaces datatable with about 52000 records to be fetched.Since it is a large dataset,i tried using live scrolling feature of primefaces with scroll rows equal to 20.THe number of columns is 53.The table also has filtering and sorting feature on its each column.Still i am not satisfied with the performance of the table.It takes about 15 secs for the page to load,worst thing is that it takes about 65 secs for the next set of 20 records to be loaded on reaching the end of scrolling.
Just for testing i reduced the total number of records to 25000 and the preformance improves with scroll time of 29 secs.I am really not able to understand why it is taking this much time when i am displaying only 20 records at a time.The total number of records should not have affected the performance.

Embedding Executable JAR File In A Webpage
Feb 20, 2014Embedding an executable .jar file on a webpage. I am not a programmer and we use Blackboard Publish to package our Blackboard sessions into a standalone executable .JAR file which gives the user the full Blackboard experience. We want to embed this file on our webpage, so I did some research and I understand I have to use a Japplet (?). I have tried putting the basic (J)applet code I found on the web (modified of course) onto the webpage (see code below) but I get a 'ClassNotFoundException' error. I don't have the ability to define the files that are in the .JAR created by Blackboard Publish. How I would go about embedding this file? I can look at the files within the .jar with Winzip but there seem to be loads of .class files and I am unclear which one my webpage is trying to find!

If I remove the "Score++;" bit, everything is fine. But I need to add to the score when they answer a question right. However, with "Score++;" there, I get this issue: 'else' without 'if'.
Note that this cannot be multiple choice, so that's why I'm using if-else, because I don't think a case system would work here.
Is there a way I can make this work while adding to the score?
