I have put error.jsp and badpage.jsp file in public access folder that is web content in eclipsewhen I am running the code I am status code of 500 and not the errorpage.jsp message .
One of my official site is not disaplying the content in machine#1 IE10 browser.And the same site is showing data in another machine#2. I compared the both machines JRE and JDK settings but no difference found.
i am beginner in java and i am making an application in which i want to display menu for 3 different types of users. like when we login i want to check which type of user is this and which menu to show them. for ex. if there is a employee the menu bar has a dropdown which shows activities like fill nomination, see details etc. if it privileged user he is shown a diff menu and if its the admin the dropdown shows some different activities. i want to make it through simple jsp and servlet. i have a table in data base which has types of user predefined with an id how to display that menu according to a specific user.
I have been given a task to scan the contents of a websites source code, and use delimiters to extract all hyperlinks from the site and display them. We havent been told anything about how to do this so after some looking around online this is what I have so far:
So my program can extract each line from the source code of a website and display it, but realistically I want it to extract each WORD as such from the source code rather than every line. I've looked around online but I don't really know how it's done because I keep getting errors when I use input.read();
How to make it extract each word from the source code?
I'm trying to learn java by making a login page using java, servlet, javascript, html and mysql. I can login with username and password, I can get all the information from database in the edit page. However, when I edit and click on "Submit" in EditPage.jsp, it gives HTTP Status 404. Same screen appears when I click on "Sign Up" from first page (NewFile.jsp) and click on "Submit" button after filling up user information.
I am posting all my code here but probably important ones are:
EditPage.jsp, Edit.java, EditDetails.java, UpdateUser.java and for Sign Up SignUpPage.jsp and Registration.java.
Firstly here are my error message and ss from my project explorer:
I'm a new Java user and I'm trying to code a simple login page. In first page (NewFile.jsp) users should enter their username and password and should click on "login", or click on "sign up".
1.) If user enters his username and password correctly, a login page (LoginPage.jsp) appears and says "welcome null" but it should show the name of that user instead of null.
2.) In that login page there is an edit button to edit profile information. When I clicked on it, every information is "null" and when I edit them and click on "Submit" button;

that message appears.
3.) If I click on "Sign Up" button at the beginning, a registration jsp (SignUpPage.jsp) appears. After filling up text boxes and clicking on "Submit", same Status 404 screen appears.
I created a mysql database called "loginpage" using xampp. In that database there is a table called "users" and it has un, pass, name, surname, email and degree attributes.
For my jsp file, the code editor shows no error, but the projects window shows an error. I built my project again, cleaned the project, restart eclipse twice and summoned cthulhu. But my project still shows an error. How do I find the cause.

I am very much new to jsp and servlet. I want to set global error page for every exception occured at server side. I am trying with following code , but something is going wrong and I am not able to c error page.
So I am finishing up a GUI that randomly rolls a dice and shows you the dice face from a file that I have on my computer. It compiles fine, but when I open the GUI and press the button "Roll" it gives me errors and does not display the images.

the system I am using is blue jay and java. my problem is that I have this error message pop up whenever I try to compile any of my 6 classes. Three of the classes are cities, 3 others are shops, and the final one is a inventory called Player. The following is the error code that appears when I try to compile class THshopB or class CityB.

My issue is that when I run the code if I enter anything but 1, 2, or 3 the code breaks. I have spent hours trying to find the error. here is my code

There are 2 methods and a main one. The first is a void that creates a 3x4 2d array and the second is to search for a value in the array, if found it will return the number of the row that contains that value. If not, it will return -1, but I am getting 1 error and 1 dead code warning.I will put comments at the lines that contain the problems
