I am writing a program using a given test drive... I am supposed to write two classes according to the test drive. The calculated correct answer should be 115.50 but i keep getting 115.52 instead and i just can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.
Here is the test drive code:
import java.text.NumberFormat;
public class FinalTester
{
public static void main(String[] args)
{
double avgPurchase;
Order[] lastYear = new Order[4];
[Code] ....
I want to use the result of the conversion. Can i do that??

import java.awt.event.*;
import java.applet.*;
public class App2 extends Applet {

TextField a,b,c;
Button p,q,r;

This is the exception message I am getting when I run the program and I select a job from the check box and enter an hour amount.
import javax.swing.*;
import java.awt.*;
public class HourPanel extends JPanel {
private double hours;
String textField;

I'm getting a NumberFormatException while executing the below statements.
Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
int year = cal.get(Calendar.YEAR);
int month = cal.get(Calendar.MONTH);
int day_of_month = 15;
long m_time = Long.parseLong((month + 1) + "/" + day_of_month + "/" + year);
and
long m_time = Long.parseLong(String.valueOf((month + 1) + "/" + day_of_month + "/" + year));
I am working with a program I wrote for class. I got it to compile and do what I want, But I was wondering how I can format my methods to to display a decimal with 1-2 decimal places. Would I create a method in my NumberAnalysis class to do it for me? Or would I declare an instance of the DecimalFormat class in my main method?
import java.util.Scanner; //Needed for Scanner Class
import java.io.*; //Need for File and IOException
import java.text.DecimalFormat;
public class Ex8_11 {
public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException{
{
DecimalFormat decformatter = new DecimalFormat("#0.00");
[Code] .....
This is my output:
Lowest Number: 1.09
Highest Number: 82.76
Total Number: 367.89000000000004
Total Average Number: 30.657500000000002
Think I just solved the answer to my own question, I did it by declaring double variables in my main method and called the methods and instantiated the variables into the methods... Is there a better way to do this?
package lesson4.skowronek;

I'm doing this project in JSP.net, with html. and in one of the web pages, what I'm doing is that, a person is transferring an amount to someone else, and if the transfer amount is more than the account balance, then he cannot transfer. else, save details in a table.
Here's the code I've used
<%
String t1=request.getParameter("text1");
String t2=request.getParameter("text2");
java.util.Date date1 = new java.util.Date();
SimpleDateFormat ft = new SimpleDateFormat ("dd/MM/yyyy");
int tamt = Integer.parseInt(t2);
int bamt = 0;
[Code] .....
But when i enter the fields and click the submit button in the form, to save it in the table, i get the error:
"org.apache.jasper.JasperException: java.lang.NumberFormatException: null"
(I've attached a screen shot of the error) : NumberFormatException.bmp (750.98K)
What does this mean? how do i find the line in the code that has the error?
Everything is working great except for my back button at line 172. It works good but if I try to click the "insert" button again. It gives me the java.lang.NumberFormatException error. Other than that it works fine, the "insert" button still works.
package userDatabasePack;
import java.sql.*;
import javax.swing.*;
import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;
public class Database{
//Variables
private String username2, insertUser, insertPassword;
private int insertUserId;
[Code] ....
Having the following fields for my money class.
import java.text.DecimalFormat;
public class Money {
//Fields for money will hold dollars and cents
private long dollars;
private long cents;
My task is to use those fields and make a toString method that returns them like a dollars sign. For instance, if there are 32 dollars and 40 cents, then in my String method I have to return something similar to this "$32.40."
I have already tried some of the methods, but they don't seem to work fine.
public String toString() {
DecimalFormat formatter=new DecimalFormat("$#0");
DecimalFormat formatCents=new DecimalFormat(".00");
return formatter.format(dollars)+ formatCents.format(cents);
}
Code:
import java.text.DecimalFormat;
public class Money
{
//Fields for money will hold dollars and cents
private long dollars;
private long cents;
[Code] ....
Actually changed a little on my code and I believe strongly this should work; however, doesn't seem to. In my demo,
public class Dem {
public static void main(String[] args) {
Money myMoney=new Money(7.10);
System.out.print(myMoney.toString());
}
}
I pass this, but I get "$700.00" as the answer... confused...
My calculation is wrong in the toString method, but still the cents do not appear to be showing.
This method accepts 1 integer, amount (the amount of money). Output the minimum number of in quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies used to make up the amount. For example, an amount of 32 would require 1 quarter, 1 nickel and 2 pennies.
This is the question^
My codes are:
public static int change (int amount) {
int quarters = amount / 25 ;
int firstresult = amount % 25 ;
return quarters ;
int nickel = firstresult / 5 ;
[Code] .....
The codes were working when i used System.out.println instead of return, but our teacher required us to use return (functions).
I get the compile error: Unreachable statement.
So I am making a vending machine and am having trouble knowing what exactly to use or how to go about giving the user a error message depending if they initially added enough money for their choice of drink. So if the user only input 1 dollar, and the drink they select is $1.25, they need to add the $.25, but how do I implement that in this code?
Here is my code along with the zip file just in case.
package vending.sample;
import java.util.Scanner;
public class VendingSample {
public static void main(String[] args) {
int coke = 1, sprite = 2, DrPepper = 3, Pepsi = 4, Fanta = 5, Water = 6, selection, i;
double change, total;

This programs is a bank account application that allows users to deposit, withdraw, and transfer money to another accounts using GUI interface. the program works perfect except transferTo part, where if user clicks the transferTo button and choose the beneficiary account and enter the amount it wont transfer to that account.

import java.util.GregorianCalendar;
import javax.swing.JOptionPane;
public abstract class Account {
String number;
String name;
GregorianCalendar openDate = new GregorianCalendar();

I have a java application in which when starting it a map is opened and a screen is captured. The capturing is in certain time interval. I want to enable the user to change the interval for the automatic capturing the map. I placed a text box in a JPanel. I want to pass the value which was entered in it to the html page which opens a Google map. Since I am new in java programming, I found that I can do it by using applets. I made an applet, and tried to call it in the html file. But now instead of opening the map file in a browser, it opens very quickly only black window.
Here is my applet:
package cege.ui;
import java.applet.Applet;
import java.io.IOException;
import cege.ui.GuiMain;
public class AppletTInterval extends Applet {
private int TimeInterval=0;
[Code] .....
And the code in the html file where I try to call the applet, i.e. to pass the value which is returned by the applet is:
<script src=
<!--"https://www.java.com/js/deployJava.js"></script>
<script>
var attributes = { id:'AppletTInterval',
code:'cege.ui.AppletTInterval', width:1, height:1} ;
var parameters = { jnlp_href: 'AppletTInterval.jnlp'} ;
[Code] .....
Can I use this way to pass a value from the java class file (from the JTextField into the html file?
how to program in Javascript, I am wondering what are the advantages and disadvantages OR pros/cons of using JS versus say a language like Java?

View Replies View RelatedI am taking Python this semester. Our teacher wants us to convert Python to JavaScript without really explaining how or/and expecting us to be familiar with it already.Python Program I have is pretty simple - it prompts you to enter your first and last name and end your DNA string, "CAG" repeats are counted by another function and the result is passed to function that identified weather you may have huntington's decease or not.

When I run it there is an issue with countCAG and prediction functions :( I would run each one individually in JS console and I get Undefined, or InvalidString I read that I am supposed to use var in front of each variable, unlike in Python where you just assign variable a value without any add-ons in the front. But JS console seems to recognize both ways of assigning, however var smth=0 immediately evaluates to Undefined, and smth=0, gives me 0...
I am trying to run a sign up page. The page is working properly and takes me to the login page when completed as it should. But when a field is left blank it is supposed to show an error message and keep them on the signup page, and it is not doing that. Sign Up Action:

But after that I need to send those files by storing in a byte array to servlet which I am not able to that. Is there any way I can send that. My requirement is I need to upload those files to server side.
