Creating web application which needs to work online and offline as well with database. There is chances of using the application in offline when there is no internet connection. The application going to be used for getting inputs for some inspection process which may happened remote areas as well.
View RepliesI am on developing a web application (using struts). So most of my web application use cases are reading and presenting data to the users.
But i need to write the another set of programs to keep on reading the data from another data bases and update my database. I have list of timings at which i should read the data from each of other sites (i.e. i know when the other databases gets updated information). Its almost every 20 mins..
Now i want to design the app.
1. Should i include the data read programs as part of my Web application ( means runs in same server JVM) and make the threads as daemon threads..?
2. Should i write another application (offline application) runs out of server in another JVM ?
I'm new in JavaFX world. I'm going to write an application using FXML and this application will use embedded database. Is there any tutorial or example showing how to connect FXML (using controller as I expect) with database. I'm using Hibernate with classic JAva - is it possible to work with Hibernate with JavaFX?

I already have everything and I convert it to jar file but the question is how to burn it to cd with the sqlite database . I mean we need to change the database URL for connection class. My question is there any programs would combine my database + my jar file and make it exe file ?
or i should manually change my database url in connection class ? (if yes what should i write knowing that my database and my jar file will be burnt to a cd). I searched online but i could not found any one related sqlite database or at least a clear one . I already has my jar file but if i moved the database from its directory it will not work ...
I have to store data I've pulled from the web i wanted to do this by storing it in a database but after looking at some tutorials i'm not sure if its possible as the databases don't seem to run with the application but instead run as an independent entity.if its possible to have a database in the java application so it runs when the application runs.

View Replies View RelatedI am trying to develop a new web application which takes in data from a form and stores data in a database.I have included all the three files join.jsp(the form which takes in data),reg.java(servlet) and JavaConncetDb(method which connects db and servlet). I get a 404 error when i try load the web application.

I want to create an application wich can handle xml files ( display xml files's data on a html page) + insert those data into an oracle database.

The validation of making sure the employee uses the correct format while entering his employee number is just the first part. I also need to add validation code to make sure his employee number matches one of the ones in the EmployeeData.txt file (shown earlier above).

A while ago, I developed an application in VB.net, and I'm trying to "convert" this application to Java. But this VB.net application uses some specific DLLs and I need to use them in my Java application. However, my knowledge in this respect are quite limited in manupulate DLLs on Java.
Up to this point, I can already load the DLL. I've read some documentation on how to use functions that are in the DLL; but I have some doubts. For example, how can I translate this piece of code to Java?

I am currently faced with a task of creating a web application. This application is meant to be accessed by an admin and also a customer. On the customer side the app should prompt the user to fill in an application for of sort and also allow the user to upload a CV to a database. The information entered by the customer will also be saved on the database. The admin should have the ability to look through all the candidates and their information and CV`s. He should also be allowed to search for candidates with specific key words...I am not a professional programmer but know the core of Java programming. I have a tiny bit of knowledge of MySql.

I got those details using jsp but if I use form, it redirects to another page for insertion. I want the data to be inserted and still remain in same jsp page. I am thinking of using onClick from javascript but as I googled this many places have said it is a bad idea to use jsp inside javascript. If so how can we insert data to mysql table without redirecting to another page?

Upon a button click the fields of this bean are going to be persisted in a database. Is it better to use another bean with application scope to handle the JDBC code, or should I have a method in the bean itself to handle that?
